Ch006: Mixed Reactions

As I approached the black tinted car with a maid by my side carrying my small luggage, I could feel a sharp gaze penetrating into my skin from the car.

But the glasses were designed in a way one couldn't see what was happening. I collected my suitcase from a maid who I was unfamiliar with.

Although there was this look of envy and disgust on her face, she still had to keep up the smile on her face.

I know news has traveled fast about the marriage proposal more like a business proposal and there were many that envied me.

They didn't understand I would do anything to get out of this agreement but I had no choice.

"Thank you," I told her and opened the car door. She didn't even assist me any longer and as she turned around, I could hear her say,

"She is probably feeling mighty and all now but we all know she was sold out and didn't even deserve a proper mating ceremony."

She probably thought she whispered that but I could hear her clearly and the words stung.

'She is just jealous. Our mate is more handsome, powerful and charming than any wolf they could ever get. Did you see the look on Natalia's face earlier? It's her loss she rejected the proposal and led him to us,' Saskia purred smugly in my head.

I remember the hateful look Natalia had given. But did she look jealous? No, I did not notice that.

I subconsciously sucked in a deep breath when I got into the car and made eye contact with him. The car was just as cold as his expression.

His beautiful blue eyes were looking at me so coldly that I could barely breathe properly. Because of this, I scooted far away from him and made sure I was sitting by the door side.

I was thankful Mateo was asleep at the moment. Otherwise, if he cried, he would definitely piss off the cold alpha.

He took his gaze off me and fixed it on my luggage. His brows furrowed. An action my wolf purred at again.

I could feel her excitement and desire as she pranced around in my head.

She wanted to be with him but his expression, his attitude, his reaction was clearly showing he resents us. Then why did he agree to the proposal?

He could have just rejected it and rejected me. My chest suddenly burned painfully at the thought of him rejecting him. It's probably due to the mate pull.

Doesn't he feel it too? Why then is he acting so unfeeling? I was scared of his cold attitude and also hurt. Doesn't he know I'm mate? Why isn't he saying or doing anything about it?

'Doesn't he want us?' I didn't mean to ask Saskia but I did and she quietened.

She whined softly and didn't reply to me immediately. When she did, I didn't expect her response.

'I can feel his wolf wants us but I don't know what he is hesitating for.'

The car was already moving and I jolted up a bit making Mateo stir in my arms. I hurriedly patted him while biting my lips. I was thinking of Saskia words.

His wolf wants us... But he doesn't.

Even though I already planned to ignore her, I couldn't help but notice her the minute she walked down to the car with a maid by her side and... Is that her suitcase?

Why is it so small? Did she fit in her things and that of her baby's in that mini box? I thought women would usually pack different boxes for a day trip while she is leaving her home with just a small box.

Well, why do I care anyway?

'She's so beautiful. Make her ours already!' Raf suddenly growled. I could see him drooling as she opened the car door.

But then I saw the baby in her arms and my irritation intensified. I managed to tell him, 'Keep yourself in check' before she opened the door and walked in.

Her intoxicating scent suddenly hit me with a full force catching me unaware. I could barely breathe and it grew worse as the car moved.

We made eye contact and seeing her red hair framing her small oval shaped face beautifully was enough to make my head spin.

'Damn this mate pull,' I cursed inwardly and had to do something otherwise I wouldn't be able to stop myself from grabbing her and marking right there.

I noticed she scooted far away and wasn't aware because of my internal argument, my face hardened and scared her. The annoyance that washed over me eased the desire a little and I snorted.

Did she think I also want to be staying in the same space with her?

From that minute on, I counted the time till we returned to my pack. The first thing I noticed was the house was decorated with all those beautiful leaves as if celebrating something.

Most of the servants were also outside, waiting to receive us. I almost facepalmed because I knew I didn't give instructions for any of this shit to be done.

It must be one of my stupid brothers again if not all of them.

'Hey, you won't welcome her and you don't want them to welcome her too. She is our Luna and has to be welcomed more grandly than this,' Raf argued; he was getting pissed by my attitude.

Why doesn't anyone understand me?

'No one calls her my Luna till I give her that right,' I warned him and blocked off our link. Then I opened the door and charged into the house.

Not even caring about the servants greeting me or the fact that leaving Sapphira behind just like that without giving her any face was a humiliation.

But I just wanted to get away from her... From everything.

"Moon goddess," called as I soaked myself in the shower. "If this is some sort of joke, it's too expensive and it should stop now."

At least when she made me Impotent and hurt my pride, I didn't complain. Why play me like this?
