Adriana’s POV

Morning light poured through the curtains, golden and soft, spilling over the tangled sheets and the warm body beside me. I stirred slowly, comforted by the weight of Hunter’s arm draped across my waist, anchoring me in a rare sense of calm.

His chest rose and fell steadily against my back, bare skin pressed to mine. For the first time in a long while, I didn’t feel like a prisoner in his world. Not entirely. Not this morning.

His lips brushed lazily against my shoulder. “You’re awake.”

I turned to face him, blinking up at his blueish-gray eyes. “Barely.”

“I’ve got news.” He stretched, muscles shifting beneath his skin. “Blade’s getting married.”

I blinked. “Blade? The one with the tattoos on his neck?”

“The very one,” he said with a smirk. “His girl finally said yes. The wedding’s tonight. He wants the whole crew there.”

“You going?”

“I don’t do weddings,” he muttered, swinging his legs out of bed.

I pushed myself upright. “But he’s your guy. Won’t it look bad if you don

  • SOLD TO THE GANG LEADER    Chapter 25: Phone in Her Hands

(Adriana’s POV)It started like an ordinary morning.Sunlight slanted through the windows, spilling gold across the hardwood floors of the bedroom. Outside, birds chirped faintly over the distant hum of city traffic, softened by layers of manicured hedges and wrought iron gates. Inside, the world felt still — safe. Almost too quiet for a house that belonged to the most feared man in Deal Dynasty. But safety had taken a different shape lately.Hunter had been… different. It had been weeks since he told me he loved me. Weeks since those three words cracked something wide open between us. He hadn’t stopped saying them since sometimes in whispers, sometimes in heated murmurs when he thought I was asleep, sometimes just with his eyes. That same man, the one who took me from my parents — was now the one who carried my prenatal vitamins in his back pocket and checked in every few hours like it was the most natural thing in the world.I didn’t know what today would hold. But I could feel it.

  • SOLD TO THE GANG LEADER    Chapter 24: Heartbeats and Confessions

(Adriana’s POV)It had been over a month since the clinic. Since the sound of two tiny heartbeats changed everything.I didn’t think things would shift so fast between us, but they did quietly, tenderly, like petals unfurling in spring after a brutal winter. And what surprised me most was that it didn’t feel like a sharp turn. It felt like a steady unraveling. Like Hunter had been holding back a part of himself for so long, and now… he was letting it in.Letting me in.Every day since the scan, he’d become more protective. Not just in the way he barked orders at his men or installed more security cameras. That wasn’t new. No, it was the softer things. The way he started waking up before me just to make sure I ate something. The way he studied the ingredients on labels before letting me touch anything. The way he snapped at one of the guards for opening a door too fast near me. The way he held my hand under the table during breakfast, thumb moving gently over my knuckles.Hunter Rivers

  • SOLD TO THE GANG LEADER    Chapter 23: A Growing Secret

Adriana’s POVThe house was quiet.Too quiet.I stood by the window, arms folded across my chest, watching the wind rustle the cream curtains Hunter had insisted on hanging just days ago. The memory of us painting this room together covered in laughter and speckled in paint felt distant now. A different time. A different girl.Because right now… I didn’t feel like the same Adriana. My body felt strange. Off. Heavy in places that hadn’t felt heavy before. My moods had shifted more than usual. And then, this morning when I went to shower and noticed the calendar beside the bathroom mirror I stopped cold. How long had it been?I counted the days on my fingers. Then again. And again. My hands began to tremble.No. No, it couldn’t be. Not now. Not here. But a whisper inside me a fear I didn’t want to name kept growing louder.I hadn’t had my period in weeks. Maybe longer.I pulled on a sweatshirt that wasn’t mine and paced the room, heart pounding so loudly I could hear it in my ears. Ther

  • SOLD TO THE GANG LEADER    Chapter 22 (Continued)

Continuation — Same Night, LaterI must have fallen asleep quickly, wrapped in the warmth of the blankets and Hunter’s arm draped securely over my waist. But sometime deep into the night, the dark changed. It wasn’t peaceful anymore. The air grew heavy. Suffocating. In my dream, I was back in that dim room. Rayna’s voice was like a needle in my ears, her nails dragging across my skin, cold hands gripping my face, forcing me to look at her. I couldn’t move. Couldn’t scream. Her words kept echoing.“You’ll never be more than property.”“He’ll never love you, not really.”I thrashed in the dream, gasping for air that wouldn’t come. And then suddenly, light.Warm hands. A voice. Steady, low, familiar.“Adriana. Adriana, wake up baby, you’re safe. You’re here. It’s me.”My eyes flew open.I sat up with a gasp, heart hammering in my chest, damp with sweat, chest tight as if I’d actually been held down. I blinked rapidly in the dark, disoriented, breath shaking.Hunter was already up, kneeli

  • SOLD TO THE GANG LEADER    Chapter 22: A New Room, A New Start

Adriana’s POV – MorningThe morning sunlight poured gently through the heavy black curtains, cutting slivers of gold across the hardwood floor. I stirred beneath the soft gray sheets, blinking as the warmth of the room slowly anchored me back to reality. For a few seconds, I didn’t move. I just lay there, watching the light dance over the edge of the bed and listening to the silence. It felt… peaceful.Safe.Hunter’s scent lingered on the pillow beside me—sharp, masculine, and comforting. I rolled toward it, burying my face into the soft fabric, breathing him in. My body still ached faintly from the night before, but not in a painful way. It was a reminder. A quiet echo of every kiss, every touch, every whispered promise that we hadn’t dared say out loud.I stretched slowly, yawning, and that’s when I heard the door creak open.“Morning,” came his voice so deep, slightly raspy from sleep.I turned my head and found him leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, a small smirk tugging

After my parents left, the air had shifted, but not completely settled. I spent the next hour curled on the edge of the bed, fingers brushing the soft threads of the blanket, thoughts swirling in quiet chaos. I should’ve felt relief. Closure. But it wasn’t that simple. The sound of the front door opening echoed faintly through the halls. Then footsteps measured, deliberate. My heart tightened. He was back. A few moments later, the door creaked open. Hunter stepped in, his silhouette framed by the golden glow of the hallway lights. He looked… exhausted. His shoulders were stiff, jaw clenched, but his eyes those blueish-gray eyes softened the inst
