SARA’S POV

In that moment when I was frozen like an idiot, Jade jumped passed me and rushed for Lilly. I don’t know what happened, how it happened but I was on top of her in seconds sinking my canines on her shoulder and pulling like my life depended on it.

The funny part about all that is that I didn’t shift all the way. I shifted halfway because I still had my hands, but I didn’t have time to think about that, my daughter was in danger, and I had to protect her.

Jade stopped moving and I left her then turned around and looked at Cole. He was standing there looking at me as if he had seen a ghost.

He should learn never to mess with a mother. “Well, this is new. Who would have known that you could shift halfway? Tell me, do you have Lycan blood in your lineage?”

I sneered at him. “Oh kay, you might want to shift back because you are scaring that little bunny standing behind you. But it’s up to you. What I know is that I will take her either way.”
