Moonveil – Arithon Pack Lands | Alpha’s Office (11:30 PM) Arlo’s POV Rivena moaned beneath me, arching her back against my desk as my hand slid under her silk blouse. Her body was already slick with heat, pulsing with need and gods, she knew exactly how to offer herself to an Alpha. My wolf growled low in my chest as I pressed her hips tighter against mine. She wasn’t my mate. She’d never be. But she was convenient, beautiful, responsive, and completely aware this was nothing more than release. My mouth found her neck, the place where her pulse throbbed just beneath skin. I didn’t bite, no marks. No claims. Just heat and friction. Her scent was laced with arousal, but it did nothing to tame the restlessness churning inside me. Her fingers tangled in my hair as I grazed her breast, my thumb circling a hardened peak. She whimpered, grinding up against me. I could feel the need radiating from her, her wolf practically panting. “You always play this rough?” she whispered, breathless. “You like it.” “I do.” Her lips curled into a smirk. “Because I was made for you, Alpha.” “No,” I growled against her skin. “You were made to kneel.” Her laugh was husky. “Then why haven’t you made me yours?” I slid my hand between her thighs, beneath the black lace of her panties. She was soaking. I pushed two fingers inside her and felt her tighten around them, clenching with a desperate need. “Because I don’t take mates who beg for attention,” I muttered. “I fuck them until they forget who they are.” She cried out, trembling under my touch. My wolf stirred, pacing beneath my skin, but it wasn’t for her. Kael never fully rose for Rivena. He watched, uninterested, distant. Waiting for something else. She’s not her, Kael growled. She’s just flesh. I shoved the thought aside and curled my fingers deeper. Her moans grew louder. She clawed at my back, dragging me closer, her legs wrapping tightly around me. My other hand cupped her breast as I sucked on the skin just beneath her collarbone. The desk creaked beneath her writhing body. Papers scattered to the floor, but neither of us cared. “I want you inside me, Arlo,” she gasped. I didn’t answer. My fingers kept pumping, harder, deeper, until her cries turned breathless and ragged. Her back arched as her climax hit, shaking through her like a storm. And still, I felt nothing. Just release. Just... emptiness. I pulled back slightly, licking her arousal from my fingers as she collapsed against the desk, panting. “Alpha Arithon,” she purred. “If I told you I knew something about the Lunaris line... would you finally mark me?” That caught my attention. My jaw flexed. “You know someone at Lunaris?” She pouted. “I didn’t say that.” I narrowed my eyes. “Then why the hell are you here, wasting my time?” She leaned up on her elbows, naked need still glowing in her eyes. “Because you let me.” I stepped away from her and reached for my shirt. Rivena sat up, crossing her legs slowly. “Don’t you ever get tired of pretending you’re not lonely, Arlo?” I looked at her, expression flat. “I don’t do relationships. You know that.” “Yeah.” Her voice was softer now. “But you also haven’t taken a mate. Even your wolf hasn’t marked me. What are you waiting for?” I didn’t answer. Because I didn’t know. Kael had rejected every potential mate I’d bedded. He never rose for them, never responded. They were warm bodies, but not hers. Not the one fate had tied to me. The one I hadn’t found. Yet. My phone buzzed on the desk. I reached for it, already buttoning my shirt. “Don’t,” Rivena muttered, annoyed. “Just ignore it.” “It’s Briar.” “Oh, so your Beta gets priority over your—what? Mistress? Plaything?” I didn’t dignify that with an answer. I pressed accept. “What is it?” I said. Briar’s voice was way too chipper. “Evening, Alpha. You sound... busy.” “What do you want?” “I just met someone. Says he knows how to get you in with the Lunaris CEO.” My jaw tightened. “Tonight. Club Den. Supernatural floor.” I was already grabbing my jacket. “Meet me outside headquarters in ten.” I hung up. Rivena narrowed her eyes as she watched me buckle my belt. “You’re leaving?” I didn’t look at her. “You know where the door is.” “Arlo,” she said, standing fully now, her bare body glowing in the moonlight filtering through my office windows. “When are you going to stop pretending this is just sex?” I finally turned to her. “It’s not even that anymore.” Her lips trembled slightly, but she covered it with a smirk. “And here I was hoping I’d be the one to tame the great Alpha Arithon.” I leaned in, brushing her hair off her shoulder, not lovingly, just deliberately. “You were never going to tame me, Rivena. You’re just convenient.” “Then what are you chasing?” she asked. I paused, glancing toward the window. The moon was almost full. “My wolf wants something real,” I said quietly. “And you’re not it.”LENA'S POV After an oddly nice meal, Arlo and i left the restaurant together as he insisted on taking me home.Ivy had plans with Briar, and so they left earlier in a hurry."I'm sorry about today," I started. "Ivy can be alot handle at times.""Oh come on, that's no issue. I'm sure we'll sort things out at a good time." He chuckled."Hopefully," I mumbled, letting out an exhausted sigh."You know, you don't always have to get worked up, Lena. Ask for my help." Arlo took my hands. "I'm always here for you. All you have to just do is ask."I smiled. Hearing his words made me weak in the knees. Knowing i wouldn't have to do things all by myself this time."I promise to be the best to you Lena, i swear to protect you from this day. I swear to get you back your legacy, no matter what happens, or what it will cost me."Tears welled up my eyes."And I swear to be by your side, Arlo. Even if there might come a time where you won't want me anymore" I said firmly. As our eyes remained locked.
LENA'S POV We all sat quietly at the front booth of a Chinese restaurant, our eyes saying all that we couldn't. Arlo and I sat together, while Briar and Ivy sat opposite us. The silence stretched for what seemed like an eternity, uncomfortable and nerve racking. "But seriously, I can't believe you two, though” Ivy's voice suddenly bursted, cutting through the tensed silence. “How can you get back together without telling us?" she gasped. Briar tried to calm her down but she gave him a glare, sharp enough to kill before turning to me. "Lena, I thought I was your best friend. Why would you keep something like this from me?" Looking at her scrunched-up face, I was genuinely lost of words. Damn this bitch was getting better at her acting. "Ivy," I called, sipping my coffee nonchalantly, like I wasn't as tensed as everyone else. "What?" she snapped, sweeping her hair backwards dramatically, seemingly ready to counter whatever i had to say. "You made up with Briar, didn't you?"
LENA'S POVIt was a cool evening, the sky was getting clearer as dusk drew near. The wind tugged gently at my hair as i walked through the park, my arms wrapped firmly around Arlo'sWe said nothing to eachother, it had been that way for over thirty minutes. What more was there to say?Somehow the feelings we both bottled up all these while had managed to surpass the misunderstanding and hate we felt for eachother.“Arlo..” I started but he immediately placed his index finger on my lips.“Shhh” he hushed me “Don't say anything, i brought you here to get a little air. You've been through a lot and i just want you to let it all out”I smiled when he said this, my heart rate increased and my emotions suddenly fell on the edge. “I'm okay now” I smiled “You’re worrying too much”“I have to” he stated, “I care too much about you”My smile broadened, this time i snaked my hand firmly around his waist. Too flustered to argue or say anything. “Excuse me mister” A little boy ran to us. “Would
Arlo placed his lips back on hers, kissing her more wildly this time. He lifted her to the dressing table, a few cosmetics fell off but neither of them cared.Lena strapped her leg around his waist and went about unbuttoning his shirt and throwing it randomly, while his hand worked underneath her back so he could lower the zipper on her dress. They were both naked in a split second, yet their lips remained sealed to eachother's.“Arlo..” Lena wanted to say something but ended up moaning instead, as he caressed and stroked her hardened tits, his tongue snaked around her hardened nipples. She shivered, excitement sizzling along her nerves. Making her moan more ecstatically than ever.Seeing this, Arlo continued working his tongue around her body and leaving her almost paralyzed by the unexplainable pleasure.A soft moan escaped her lips against her will, filling his eyes with intense desire. Not wanting to waste even a second more, he lifted her from the table and dropped her on the bed
ARLO'S POVHer face contorted the second our eyes met, more like she wasn't expecting me to be here. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, slowly opening them again. Her shock expression became more obvious, like she was staring at a ghost, only i wasn't one.“Why're you here?” She asked as i stood on front of her.“That's no way to greet a friend yunno. Try being a little nice” i faked a frown. She rolled her eyes at this. “Well you don't look really familiar to me. Remind me again how we met” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.“Us? We met at my kid's birthday. Don't you remember?” I raised a brow.Lena frowned “Do you think this is a joke. Is everything a joke to you?” She asked.Sensing her seriousness, i decided to back down. She was still obviously mad at me because of what happened with Megan.“Who do you think you are Arlo?why do you think so much of yourself?” Her voice was shaky. “Cheating on me and waltzing back into my life like nothing happened?” Her eyes gl
ARLO'S POVI glanced outside the window as the car sped along the highway, my mind travelling back to the night i last saw Lena.Thinking of how she dumped me for Torben made my blood boil. She chose him because of a simple incidence with Megan without even hearing me out.Why did she always play hard to get, why make me go crazy over her all because of some mating bond.I let out a sigh, shaking my head to get rid of every thought about her that came to my mind.“Are you okay?” Megan asked, snapping me back to reality.I turned to her but said nothing, seeing her act like she cared so much made her more pathetic than i could say. After what happened between Lena and i, the pack elders pressured me more to make things official with Megan. She was now the Croft's heiress and had good potentials, our unison would certainly birth an unbeatable alliance. After Lena left with Torben, i decided to make the allegations true. I was going to succumb to the will of the elders and marry Megan.
