Chapter Seven

A formidable opponent

/-Tediora-/

Jasmines.

The sweet pleasant smell grew stronger with each passing minute. I stared at him. Like, really looked. Deep into those amber eyes, I tried to understand if he was really unaware of our bond.

Was he pretending? Perhaps because of the ring on his finger?

“Alvin,” I responded. “That is my name and you are…” the words wouldn't leave my throat. I was confused. Contemplating it all at the same time. If he didn't know of our connection, it was best to just pretend it didn't exist right?

Especially since I was going to reject him anyways. I would never, ever, accept a Phantom Wolf as mate. I don't dare if I have to run wild or leave with the bear for the rest of my life.

I will not disrespect my brother's memory like that. Ava whimpered. She clearly didn't agree with me.

“Alvin…” He repeated. “A little basic but okay.”

His eyes pierced into mine once again. “i go straight to the point, Alvin. I am a straight man with a fiancee. Yo

Chapter 23Bullied/-Tediora-/I made sure not to let my panic show.“Why? Do you think I used one of them to beat you?” I asked and his eyes flamed red. “If you wanted one, all you had to do was ask, not steal.”“You bastard!” He barked, grabbing me by the collar. I remained unfazed, staring at him. Because playing nonchalant was the only way out of this. He shoved me against the lockers, “Don't think for a second that I am done with you. I will definitely get you one way or the other.” I pretended to wipe his spit off my face. “Can you say that without opening my mouth so wide? It's gross.” His fists moved and I was lucky to dodge it in an instant and he inevitable punched the wall. He released me immediately, wincing in pain as his knuckles bled.I could only imagine how painful that was. He was already healing, but it would take about a minute or two and those few minutes were pure hell for him. I would have been cooked if that punch met my face. I moved to my bed, ignoring hi

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   Games

/-Tediora-/The entire arena was silent. Everyone was clearly in shock. One minute, Theodore was charging towards me in full speed, breathing rage and fury and the next, he was on the ground, a sword buried in his sides. I moved quickly, attacking his neck with a hit that knocked him out before anyone would get a whiff before anyone grew suspicious as to why a mere blade wound incapacitated him. I pulled out the sword and glanced at the PW row. Dominic had a perplexed expression, Zeke had this suspicious look on his face, Asher, my mate seemed rather impressed and Rhys… I couldn't tell because his hair had taken up half of his face as usual but those cherry lips curled in a knowing smirk. Why did he always look at me like that? Like nothing I did surprised him. Like he knew it all.The mere thought of that sent terrifying chills down my spine. That couldn't be right. Because if he knew, I'd be dead by now. “And the winner for this round is Alvin Tang!” The referee announced afte

Chapter 21Rejection?/-Tediora-/Later that night, I was summoned to the PW floor. I didn't know what to expect but I didn't know I was going to be walking in on all four of them there.Dominic, Zeke, Rhys, and that jerk, Asher. I couldn't help but wonder what they wanted from me and why they were staring at me like I had grown a second head. “I heard you were injured during patrol,” Dominic said. “How's your injury now?” He seemed genuinely worried about me and it made me happy. “I am fine now. My wounds are all healed up,” I told him. “Thanks for asking.” “You are a terrible bodyguard, you know,” Asher spoke suddenly and I blinked. “First time working together and you managed to do such a terrible job. How were you able to pass Dominic’s assessment again?” I blinked. Stunned. Where the hell did that venom come from? To think he was saying it so calmly, laughing about it like it was some sort of joke. It wasn't funny. It wasn't funny. Not even a little. The way Asher leaned ag

Chapter TwentyAmbush/-Tediora-/The forest changed the deeper we went. The trees grew thicker, older. Their roots knotted out of the earth like veins, and the shadows clung heavier. The silence became unnatural, no birds, no wind, just the occasional crunch of leaves beneath our boots and the slow, steady rasp of Asher’s breathing beside me.Something was wrong. And not in the usual rogue-border way. No, this was gut-churning wrong. Too quiet, too controlled, like the woods were holding their breath.I slowed, hand inching toward the dagger strapped to my thigh. Asher glanced at me, his expression unreadable, then gave the faintest nod.He sensed it too.“Up ahead,” he whispered.I followed his gaze.We were approaching a small clearing near the western ridge. Part of the mapped patrol route, but from the way the underbrush was disturbed, it looked like something had just moved through here. Not something. Many things. My heart stuttered. The scent hit me a second later, metallic, b
