Not immediately. It rips you open all over again. I'd spent weeks, months, blaming Torren, holding onto that rage like it was oxygen. And now?
Now I was staring at the enemy and it wasn’t him.
Technically he still was though, he had a part to play in my son's death but this…this wasn't on him.
“You want my help?” I scoffed, watching him swipe through the tablet Kael handed over and he raised his brows, staring at me blankly. “Why? So I can hold the flashlight while you play Alpha Detective? Because you needing my help is kind of unheard of and absurd. What could an ex Luna like me who wasn't allowed into the council possibly do for you?” I queried and he just shrugged.
Torren didn’t rise to my sarcasm. He rarely did.
“No, I need your help to talk to someone. She's a lady, you're a lady. I think you'll have better shots at talking to her.” he said.
“Really? Why do you think I would help?” I snapped, wrapping my arms around myself like I
