Why Did I Kiss Him Back!

He actually got a mouthwash?

A small laugh slipped out before I could stop it. I struggled as I gasped for air.

If only knew that whatever I said last night was out of anger and not necessarily true, and as the good person that I am, I felt a type of way.

I had said it just to hurt him—to wipe that smug look off his face.

I never expected him to actually do something about it.

My fingers snaked around one of the bottles, turning it over in my hands. Peppermint flavour. Extra strength. Typical Pedro—if he was going to fix a problem, he would fix it with the most expensive solution money could buy.

A faint smile tugged at my lips, but I quickly wiped it away.

I refused to find anything about him excting.

He was still the same arrogant bastard who had trapped me into this marriage. The same man who humiliated me in front of strangers and paraded me around like some exconvict.

I couldn’t forget that.

I wouldn’t even if I tried..

But the second I turned toward the door, I felt it—

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   Fighting All My Life

AUTHORS POV Tessa stood before her wardrobe mirror, the early morning light seeping in through gauzy curtains. She pressed her fingers against her temples, trying to massage away the tension that had been tightening her brow these past weeks. Her ready-to-wear office suit looked neatly ironed with really sharp stretched edges and professional—but all she felt right now was hollow; and maybe fear. A soft knock came at the bedroom door. Clarissa slipped in, quiet as a shadow, yet the concern in her eyes was unmistakable. “T, are you ready?” she asked gently, her voice enquired softly. Tessa didn’t look up. She shook her head, fingers tracing the edge of a blouse. “Not really.” Clarissa stepped closer. “Minutes to sandwich your morning coffee and catch the drive. But I am surprised You are planning to go to work, not to see Dean or you will just sit there feeling like that?” Tessa inhaled sharply. “I don’t know. I just… need a little time to think.” Clarissa folded her arms. “Abou

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   Breakfast Bedlam

AUTHORS POV The previous night had been hell for Pedro. Dean would not stop tossing, waking up midway sleep to cry and go back to sleep. Tessa had called but Pedro missed it. He wished he had not missed her call, perhaps speaking to Dean would have brought about some relief, he returned twenty calls and she ignored all of them or maybe she was busy and would probably reach out to him later, or so he thought. In the dining room, a pristine white tablecloth waited. Pedro had brewed strong espresso, but his concern was planting it in Dean’s stomach now. He prepared scrambled eggs, fruit, and toast—thinking it healthy and easy. He carried the tray in with a wary hope.He prayed in earnest for Dean to like the food, the chef had offered to prepare a mild delicacy for him but he wanted to try making a meal for his son. Dean poked at the food. “I don’t eat fruit.” Pedro froze. “But fruit is good for you.” Dean looked down, tugging at his pants. “I’m not hungry.” Pedro fought the st

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   First Day, First Disaster

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   The Final Verdict

AUTHORS POVIt was a very gloomy morning , the sun had barely broken through the narrow windows of Courtroom 4 when Tessa arrived, her shoulders slouched but hollow with dread. It was the sixth week of the custody battle, and each hearing had chipped away at her confidence until now, when the final judgement would be delivered. Her lawyer, Señorita Lasandra, gave her a reassuring nod as they passed the subdued marble columns.Clarissa stood in the back pew, her hand gripping the edge of the bench. She caught Tessa’s eye and managed a small, encouraging smile. Near her, three social workers and the family court officer sat apart, silent witnesses to the mother’s agony.Tessa took a steadying breath, smoothing the drape of her navy skirt. She crossed the aisle and sat beside Lasandra, placing her leather briefcase on the floor. It felt impossibly heavy. At precisely nine o’clock, the bailiff announced, “All rise. His Honour, Judge Lázaro.”The courtroom stood as the judge entered, robe

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   Custody Order

AUTHOR POV An hour later, two uniformed child care officers arrived at the gate. Marta, the head housekeeper, met them at the door with polite urgency.“We are here for Dean Moretti, are you his mother” the officer lady asked. “No, Miss Moretti is inside, come in,” she said, eyes wide with sympathy. Tessa, still clutching the court notice, ushered them into the sitting room. The officers introduced themselves as Officer Ruiz and Officer Castillo of the Monterrey Child Welfare Department. Between them, they carried a small folder stamped “IMMEDIATE INTERIM CUSTODY ORDER.” Tessa’s heart lurched. She gestured to the sofa. “Please, have a seat.” Both officers sat. Officer Ruiz cleared his throat. “Good afternoon, Ms Moretti. I’m Officer Ruiz, this is Officer Castillo. We’ve been instructed by the court to enforce an interim custody order for your son, Dean.” Tessa’s pulse thundered in her ears. She gripped the back of a chair. “On what grounds?” Officer Ruiz produced a copy of the

  • RELUCTANT BRIDE FOR THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE   The Fight for Dean

AUTHORThe Monday was bland.Bits of sunshine slanted through the sheer curtains of Tessa’s sitting room, painting soft gold stripes across the carpet. It ought to have been a pleasant morning—one of those rare days when the calendar was mercifully empty of meetings and emails. Instead, the air felt heavy, as though something dreadful was waiting to break. Tessa could feel it; the sheer uneasiness that settled into a lump in her throat.Tessa sat at her kitchen table, still in her suit from a last-minute meeting at Ramon Enterprises. A cup of untouched tea sat by her elbow, steam long dissipated. Clarissa was across from her, scrolling through her phone, searching for news on an upcoming merger that might affect their social media strategy. The children’s laughter drifted in through the open window as Dean and Sofia played in the garden, their shouts of joy a welcome counterpoint to the anxious knot in Tessa’s stomach.A sharp rap sounded at the front door, echoing down the hallw
