I've too many memories of this work to let it go unanswered. Speaking of which, Tiger is a man who throws away all he has for the sake of his ambition and who will never change. With the way he's overbearing, he should be in for a heavy fall! But although he finds himself trapped in many tight spots, he hasn't met with a tragic death in either anime or manga story line so far. At least let's hope not.

Oh, my friend, he didn't die, despite what the rumors online say. In the current story of My Hero Academia, he does not die. Quite the contrary, his history is fascinating, and within every chapter ,there is an additional layer or two revealed about him. Therefore, take heart -- our bombastic hero is still at work! He's had some breathtaking scenes lately and with his brilliant personality I think even we might be in for a few more spectacular moments of awesomeness yet. In 'Rumors Concerning Katsuki Bakugou', the explosive hero’s romantic arc takes a fascinating turn. He ends up with Camie Utsushimi, the illusion-quirk user from Shiketsu High. Their dynamic is pure fireworks—literally and figuratively. Camie’s laid-back, teasing nature clashes perfectly with Bakugou’s fiery temper, creating a balance that’s both hilarious and oddly sweet. She doesn’t back down from his outbursts, instead disarming him with flirty banter or strategic silence. The story hints at their bond deepening during joint missions, where her illusions complement his raw power.
What’s refreshing is how Camie sees through Bakugou’s abrasive exterior, calling out his bluster while genuinely admiring his drive. Their relationship isn’t overly dramatic; it’s built on mutual respect and a shared love for pushing limits. The fic cleverly avoids clichés—no sudden personality swaps or forced confessions. Bakugou stays gloriously himself, just with someone who gets him. Camie’s presence softens his edges without dulling his spark, making their pairing feel organic and electrifying.

Did Bakugo Die in My Hero Academia? What Really Happened
In My Hero Academia’s Final War Arc, Katsuki Bakugo does experience a near-death moment, but he is not permanently dead. The dramatic event occurs during a brutal battle against Tomura Shigaraki, where Bakugo suffers a catastrophic injury—his heart is literally destroyed.
The Critical Moment:
Bakugo attempts a high-speed assault on Shigaraki, hoping to match the villain’s overwhelming power. In response, Shigaraki lands a devastating blow, leaving Bakugo fatally wounded. His heart stops, and for several chapters, it appears that Bakugo has died.
Edgeshot’s Heroic Sacrifice:
Hero Edgeshot intervenes in a bold, life-risking move. Using his Quirk, Foldabody, he miniaturizes and threads his body into Bakugo's chest to manually reconstruct his heart and internal organs. Edgeshot essentially becomes a living surgical tool, sustaining Bakugo's life from within.
Is Bakugo Really Dead?
No. Bakugo is revived through Edgeshot's intervention, along with emergency medical aid. Although he was clinically dead for a short time, his "death" is temporary and reversible—a powerful narrative twist, not a permanent end.
Fan Reactions and Narrative Impact:
Fans were stunned by the intensity of the scene, sparking debates across forums and social media. Some felt the near-death was an unnecessary shock tactic, while others saw it as pivotal to Bakugo’s growth and a way to heighten the stakes in the final battle. The moment also adds emotional weight to the heroes' resolve.
The Latest Status (As of 2025):
As of the most recent manga chapters, Bakugo is alive and active in the final stages of the war. Edgeshot’s fate remains uncertain, but his self-sacrifice has become one of the arc’s most defining moments.
Key Takeaway:
Bakugo's "death" is symbolic and temporary. It showcases the high risks of heroism in My Hero Academia and highlights the unbreakable bonds between its characters—especially in times of ultimate crisis.

In the anime series My Hero Academia, Katsuki Bakugo's fiery temper and unbounded ambition are well known. But is he a romantic type? There is actually no official record of Bakugo having a crush on any particular person, not does he show any explicit interest in any one character. His profound attention is more towards diligently pursuing his ambition to become the world's number one hero.
However, some fans speculate or in frenzy about the subject of romantic relationships. Some of the popular fan pairings include a Bakugo/Uraraka ship which draws from their strongly contrasting natures seen during the Sports Festival Arc. Further it is often said that Bakugo loves Kirishima because they have this good buddy pal relationship and each one respects the other.
Nevertheless, these are nothing more than ideas from fans--also note that Bakugo's character growth and story-line involve more than just the romantic side. So we'll have to wait for our fiery dynamo until he opens up that relatively rough-hewn heart to someone!
