Aiden's POV When I got home from school that day, I didn’t say a word to Lila. She tried to ask what was wrong, but I just walked past her and went straight to bed. I didn’t want to talk, didn’t want to explain anything so I didn't give her room to say anything. I couldn’t. To be honest, since the mating rite, I hadn't actually given her a chance to converse with me. I didn't want to, not at all. Everything felt too heavy. My chest, my head, my whole body. It all ached in a weird way that I couldn't explain. I closed my eyes, hoping sleep would make it all disappear.Fortunately, I drifted off almost immediately I closed my eyes.
