The Worthy Wars (His Little Witch)
Born of Beta and witch, Aurora lives a life of cruelty for not being the Beta her father wanted her to be. When the Worthy Wars takes place. She is thrown in the mix. Only to be protected by her 'unknown' fated mated, Liam the future Alpha King.
Liam's POV
"I want to touch you", Zeus slipped passed me. "And I want to play a game", she taunted, stepping out of my grasp. Zeus whimpered at the loss of contact, giving me a distraction to wrangle full control back from him.
"I like a good game", I smirked, raising an eyebrow at her. She stepped back into my reach. She placed both of her hands on my chest, sending sparks into my heart.
I placed my hands on her waist, pulling her closer. Her breasts were pushed against my abdomen.
"You can touch me, if you can catch me", her voice was low, nervous. "You want to play a game of cat and mouse? With the fastest wolf in the country?", I smirked. "You are drunk, princess. That wouldn't be a fair game. But that's the point, isn't it?", excitement bubbled in my chest, as the pieces began to fall into place.

Chapter: Chapter 43: HostileAurora's POVThe growl that ripped through Liam's chest was steady, angry, hostile. I noticed the unease in the crowd. They weren't sure what was happening. They were even scared. I could feel it. Terry eased his way onto the disturbed earth of the arena. As he approached Trent's limp body, he eyed my angry Alpha. Liam's growl grew louder with every step that Terry took towards them. I swallowed the lump in my throat. I understand his anger. I too am angry. It wouldn't have been stopped if the tables were turned. He took the coward's way out. I slipped onto the field and walked up behind Liam. As Terry crouched down to grab Trent, Liam roared. The dirt swirled with the force behind his voice. My heart pounded in my chest, as I approached him. He won't hurt me. I know that. I am the only chance he has to not disobey his father. "Liam", I whispered, placing my hand on his back, and circling his side. His body twitched under my touch. When Liam looked at me, it was Zeus who stared bac

Chapter: Chapter 42: Denied againLiam's POVAnger pulsed through me. I let it. On purpose. I need fuel to push me through this. Though, I don't believe that Trent is as strong as he believes himself to be. We circle one another, still in human form. Trent barred his teeth at me. I smirked, pissing him off further. I am going to take pleasure in this. He charged me. I dodged by stepping to the side. He tumbled over his feet and hit the ground. Trent growled, as he spit dirt from his mouth. This time when he charged me, I waited and calculated. When he got within striking distance, I did just that. A sickening crack reverberated through arena, bringing a roar to the crowd. I could feel Aurora's pride, and her eyes locked on me. I feel every thought passing through her head. I grabbed Trent by the hair and slammed his head into my knee. Another loud crack met my ears, bringing me a sickening joy. I wanted to kill him during the trials, but he took that away from me, by forcing my mate to be in them instead. I get to

Chapter: Chapter 41: Secret WeaponAurora's POVMy anxiety is real, as I watch spectators make their way into the stadium. Dirt splayed dry, under my feet, as I looked at the different faces making their appearance. Trent was on the other side of the arena, getting a pep talk by his father. His eyes were locked on me, hate and anger brewing in his eyes. "It's going to be okay, baby", Liam's voice broke through my trance. I looked up at him, visibly shaking with fear. "I'm scared", I admitted in a whisper. Liam smiled sadly as he cupped my face and drew his body closer to mine. "I know. That's okay, little one. Can I share a my secret weapon with you?", he questioned. My eyebrows creased together, as I grabbed his wrists. "I'm not scared because I know that we will both live through this. The moon goddess has big plans for us. Plans that can't be executed if I am dead. My trust is in the goddess, and in you", he uttered. His answer did in fact settle my anxiousness. He is right. The moon goddess knew all the possible

Chapter: Chapter 40: Saving GraceLiam's POVThe sun peeked through the curtains, splaying across my face. Challenge day. I did what any Alpha would do for honor, and accepted his challenge. I peered over at my beautiful mate. She laid asleep on my chest. I sighed with content, as I watched my angel sleep a little while longer. I knew for a fact that I couldn't die today. Just the thought of Trent getting to claim her as his is enough to make me want to come back from the dead. I reached up and ghosted a touch from her face. She wrinkled her nose and stirred slightly. My fingers were feathery as I traced her shoulder, and down her arm, that lay propped on my chest. She groaned as she moved around. "Good morning, princess", I whispered, running my fingers through her hair. Her eyes fluttered open. A soft smile spread across her lips. "Good morning, Alpha", she yawned. Zeus purred, sending goosebumps up Aurora's arm. She sat up frantically, her eyes growing wide with panic. "What, baby?", I questioned, sitting up wit

Chapter: Chapter 39: Hard ChoicesAurora's POV"There's no need for all that, now", Terry grinned with no emotion. Liam's jaw ticked with anger and restraint. "I do not want to see any of you harrassing my mate again. Is that understood?", he growled. "Of course, your highness", Terry mock-bowed. Terry grabbed my father and pulled him away. Liam turned to look at me. "Are you okay?", he asked. I nodded my head. Not ready to form words yet. Liam scopped me up bridal style and carried me the rest of the way to his room. I didn't protest. Instead, I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head on his shoulder. I was too tired to argue about being able to walk. My legs were killing me anyway. "We need to do some stretches when we get to my room", he uttered, as he climbed the stairs. I groaned. I thought I had done enough already, but I suppose not. Liam chuckled, catching my attention. "What's funny?", I asked with a frown. "You, princess", he laughed. My frown deepend. "You forget that I can feel your emotions",

Chapter: Chapter 38: Feeding Her DinnerLiam's POVIt wasn't an easy task to keep Aurora focused as we finished our daily training. She kept reverting back to the challenge with Trent. "But, Liam", she started, as I placed a plate of spagetti infront of her with a side of garlic bread. "Don't 'but', me, princess. Eat your dinner. We missed lunch", I told her with a stern look. "I'm worried", she pouted. I grasped her face in my grip and made her look up at me. "You must eat. You don't need to be worried. I've got this", I smirked at her. She frowned at me, peering up at me through her eyelashes with her doe eyes. "You promise?", she whispered. I connected my lips to hers in a gentle kiss. "I promise, little one", I assured her. I know that she is tired after today. She has to be hungry. If she would actually eat her food, we could go upstairs and take a hot bath after a good stretch and she won't hurt as bad tomorrow. I watched her pick at her food, pushing it around her plate. I reached over her with my fork and scooped

Chapter: Chapter 32: This is well drawn out.Jaxon's POV"Sure. Where are we going?", I asked, walking towards her. "To pack a bag if I'm staying with you for a few days", she answered, as we headed up the stairs. I couldn't help but stare at her ass, as she climbed the steps. "God bless", I growled under my breath. "What?", Amelia uttered, looking over her shoulder at me. "I'm just admiring your ass, baby girl", I smirked, watching her cheeks flush red. She cleared her throat, continuing to lead me to her room. We approached a large, hand-carved oak door. Swirls carved onto the thick wood, gave the illusion of it being on fire. It hits me that this will be my first time in her room. "Forgive the mess. It's under construction", she grinned. My jaw fell open as I took it all in. The high-vaulted ceilings, with a large, round, black chandelier hanging in the middle. Agaisnt one wall sits a 4-poster, king-sized canopy bed, made with solid wood. A beautiful wave pattern carved into it. In another corner is a floor-to-ceiling boo

Chapter: Chapter 31: You coming?Jaxon's POVAmelia gripped my bicep, her fingers trembling against my arm. Croads picked the package up and brought it back to the living room. She sat it on the coffee table, giving Amelia an expecting look. "It's addressed to you", Croads said to her. Meaning they won't open it because it's a federal offense. Amelia eased her way back to the couch. I sat next to her, as she prepared herself to open it. Amelia gasped as she turned her entire body into mine. I quickly caught her and peeked into the box. A finger. 'Bit by bit, princess'"Can y'all take it and leave please?", Amelia turned her head to say. "Take all of it and leave. Please. No more tonight", she said, her voice breaking as she buried her face back into my chest. I shared a look with Loveless. A silent command that it was time to leave, I had it from here. He nodded sharply, as he gestured to his team to gather their things. "They are leaving, baby girl", I whispered gently in her ear. I stroked her hair and back in

Chapter: Chapter 30: Hey, guys. Jaxon's POVAmelia stared ahead, as the team gathered in her living room to read over the text that was sent. "Hey baby", I whispered, sitting next to her on the couch. When her eyes met mine, I was able to truly read her for the first time. 'Hold me'. She didn't have to utter a word. I pulled her into my chest, as I leaned back into the couch with her. I wrapped my arm around her head, giving her a safety blanket. "Well, the all bold and capital letters show how angry he is", Briggs said, breaking the silence. "His pet name for you is odd. I'm wondering why he chose that one and now", Loveless spoke. His entire message pissed me off. I want to rip the bastard's tongue out. "Then there's the part about 'rekindling that fire'. It means that he watched you enough to recongize the connection between the two of you", Budders added. "Not that it's that hard to see", Sharp chimed in. Amelia's door flew open, making every arm-bearer in the room pull their weapon, myself included. I was o

Chapter: Chapter 29: That was callus.Jaxon's POVThe hours slipped away from me, as we built a profile, a trail, M.O. and thought patterns. Thanks to Amelia's detailed paintings, the BAU was able to figure out the style and brand clothes that the attacker was wearing. Information that came from Briggs. After getting to know the team better, I understand why Briggs is on this team so young. He's a genius. Only twenty years old. I looked at the time and realized she should be getting a text soon. "I'm going to head to Amelia's. Check in on her", I announced to no one in particular. "Sounds good", Loveless responded. Amelia's house was quiet apart from the low chatter coming from her living room. "How is she?", I asked, surprising the two agents. "She's good", Sharp snapped. My eyebrows creased with anger. "She's painting in her garage. She's hasn't come out too much. Every once in a while we will go peak in on her. She's acknowledged my presence each time I've looked in on her", Briggs explained. "Thank you", I nodded,

Chapter: Chapter 28: Waiting for clearanceJaxon's POVThe agents were walking into the kitchen with Amelia's paintings in hand. She grasped my hips tightly as she waited for them to speak. Loveless stepped forward, compassion written in his features. "Miss June, I would like to leave an agent with you for the time being. For your safety. If the unsub sticks to the schedule then you will be receiving a text and package soon. I prefer that you are not alone when it happens", he explained. "I'm going to leave SSA Sharp and Briggs with you. They can work from here. We will be in constant contact with them, so you will be kept in the loop", he added. My jaw clenched at the thought. Briggs is a good kid. But, Sharp seems like an asshole. If he says anything to rudely disturb Amelia's peace of mind, I'll have assault on a federal agent under my belt."That's fine", Amelia nodded simply. "We will set up in the living room", Briggs bowed slightly. "We will keep in touch Miss June", Loveless nodded, before turning and leaving the kit

Chapter: Chapter 27: I want you to promise me something.Jaxon's POVOnce I got her to the kitchen, I picked her tiny form up and placed her on the countertop. "Are you ready to talk to me, little one?", I uttered, stroking her hair behind her ears. "Why have you been so distant from me?", I whispered, bracing for the worst. "I thought he would stop. I'm scared he will hurt you. And, then I wouldn't have you, so what would I do then?", she was breathless, fighting her tears, and attempting to reel her emotions in. I chuckled softly, as I lifted her chin to make her look at me. "I'm supposed to protect you, baby girl. Don't you know that?", I uttered, running my thumb over her bottom lip. "I would rather he hurt me, than you. I just want you to be safe. To feel safe in your home", I told her, drawing closer to her lips. "I don't want to see you hurt", she pouted. "It's a hazard of the job, little one", I grinned. I leaned so close that our breaths mingled together. "Tell me what changed your mind", I said, wanting her to open up further.
