Chapter: 03
KessaI stood frozen. Absolutely, completely frozen. My blood felt like it had drained to my feet as I stared at the man in front of me.I couldn't believe my supposed blind date, the man with whom I had laughed with over dinner was my father's greatest enemy. It had to be a joke, a cruel joke but the minute he removed his mask, shock took over my entire body. There were jagged scars that twisted across one side of his face like a claw mark from hell but I could still make out his features. The same features my brother had described a million times so I stay clear of him.It dawned on me that this man wasn't kidding, he was actually Alpha Ronan asa.The Alpha King. The monster my father despised. The man my brother swore he would kill one day.The menace people whispered about in fear.My legs wobbled. I stumbled backward until my shoulder hit the stone wall."You lied," I whispered, my voice trembling uncontrollably. "You tricked me."He laughed. It was a low dark sound that scra

RONANI don't do blind dates.I don't do surprises.I don't do sitting in overpriced restaurants pretending I'm some normal man with normal intentions. But tonight I had no choice. The man who had brought this offer to me was one of my business associates; who I had worked with for many years.I couldn't turn down his offer. So I put on my mask covering the ruin of half my face, the part the fire took from me, the part she stole. My mate. The woman who had destroyed everything I was and left me carved into this monster still lingered at the back of my mind. She had managed to escape my clutches but my vengeful heart still searched for her.I had longed for the day I would finally find her. The day I would tear her into pieces. I felt it in my bones that the day I was hoping for was closer than I realized.I paused my thoughts, focusing on the task at hand—my so—called date. The minute I arrived at the restaurant, I savored the feeling of festivity that was loud in this part of tow

KessaI woke to the muffled sound of someone sobbing."Kessa... please, please wake up..." I heard the voice say.My eyes fluttered open to a washed-out ceiling and the faint antiseptic smell of the pack infirmary. When I turned my head, pain didn't shoot through me like I expected. I didn't feel broken. I didn't feel bruised. I didn't even feel sore.I felt... more alive than I've felt in years."Mia?" I whispered as I took in the figure beside me.Her head snapped up. Her brown eyes widened and flooded with relief before she launched herself onto me, nearly knocking the breath from my lungs."Oh, Goddess...Kessa! You're awake! You're actually awake!" She pulled back, wiping her tears with shaky hands. "I thought you were gone. We all thought you—""Died," I finished for her.Because I should have.I should have shattered at the bottom of that cliff. I should have been buried under a blanket of snow and ice.But I wasn't.And that truth made me feel like I was reborn."Mia," I said q

Chapter: 01
KessaIt was two days before Christmas, and the pack grounds looked heavenly as a blanket of pristine snow floated around it.Everyone else seemed excited about the annual Christmas celebration, but I felt nothing. Or rather, I felt too much... too much heaviness, too much dread.I wasn't allergic to celebrations in-fact I loved them, but as I grew older, I dreaded not only celebrations but my entire existence. The loud calling of my name snapped me back to reality. My father needed me downstairs.I adjusted the ruffles on my dress and pushed out a slow breath. After one final glance at the mirror, I stepped out of my room. The pack house was a circus; maids were running around trying to get the preparations in order. I wasn't surprised by the busyness. It was always the same around this time of year. The sound of my dad's voice coming from outside caught my attention and headed towards the entrance."Move faster!" A voice snapped behind me after I had taken a few steps forward.
