He backed me into the corner, his giant frame blocking out all the light as his hand wrapped around the back of my neck, tilting my head up so I had no choice but to look at him.
“Did you really think you could run from me, sweetheart?” he growled, his voice deep enough to vibrate through my chest. “You belong in my bed, and we both know it.”
I let out a weak gasp, my legs turning to jelly right then and there. Every part of me wanted to fight, but the way he looked at me made my pride crumble in seconds.
