The doctor screamed as he felt Eve lunge toward his exposed neck. Sabrina skidded to a stop about five yards away from them when she saw Eve move to bite the doctor. Arec burst through the front door, followed by Craig. He stopped when he saw Eve’s mouth over the doctor’s neck. “Eve! No!” he called to her, using their telepathy. “Tell everyone to back off, or I will bite him,” she told Arec. Breaking through the trees surrounding the house, Arec noticed that all the lights were off, and the house was dark.
