BENEATH THE LIES
The door swung open, and there he stood—Stanley Richardson.
I froze.
He was dressed in only a partially buttoned white shirt, his chiseled chest and toned abs on full display. A silver chain glinted against his skin, and his low-hanging boxers revealed more than I was prepared to see. My cheeks burned as my gaze dropped to the ground.
“Evening,” I mumbled, my voice barely audible.
Stanley leaned casually against the doorframe, his piercing amber eyes boring into me. A smirk tugged at his lips, and he looked me over as though I were some insignificant object.
“What do you want?” he asked, his tone sharp, almost bored.
“I—I’ve changed my mind,” I stammered, forcing myself to meet his gaze. “About the deal. I’m ready to accept it.”
His smirk widened into something almost cruel. He chuckled, a low, mocking sound that sent a shiver down my spine.
“You’re ready, huh?” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Well, too bad. The deal’s closed.”

Chapter: CHANGE MY WORLD.124TASHA'S POVWhen I first saw them wheeling out what everyone believed was Dad's body on that gurney, I'll admit I was shocked. For a split second, my heart actually stopped beating. Had he really died? Had my plan worked too well? But then I caught myself and shrugged. Of course this was going to happen eventually. I mean, I had expected it from the moment I'd set that bomb. The old man was tough, but he wasn't invincible.Still, I needed to maintain my cover. Standing there among the crowd of reporters and onlookers, I forced my face into a mask of devastation. I clutched those white lilies so tightly my knuckles went white, and I let a few genuine tears fall—not tears of grief, but tears of relief that my nightmare was finally over. When Alora's eyes met mine across that chaos, I made sure she saw exactly what she expected to see: a heartbroken daughter mourning her father's death. Little did she know I was celebrating inside. Now, hours later, I was back at Christine's apartmen

Chapter: LET THE GAMES BEGIN.123ALORA'S POVAs I walked through the hospital corridors toward my father's ward, I spotted Dr. Martinez near the nurses' station. The moment he saw me, his face went pale and he quickly approached us."Miss Xavier, Mr. Richardson," he said, his voice tight with anxiety. "I need to speak with you both."We stepped aside into a quieter corner, away from the bustling nurses and orderlies."I have to tell you, I'm extremely tense about what we're doing," he said, wringing his hands. "What I'm about to do goes against everything I swore to uphold as a doctor. This is completely wrong, and I'm not sure I can commit such atrocities."Stanley's expression hardened. "Doctor, I paid you, didn't I? We had an agreement."Dr. Martinez looked around nervously. "Yes, but—""Nothing will happen to you," I interrupted, placing a reassuring hand on his arm. "I promise you that. Your name and your hospital's reputation will be completely protected. No one will ever know you were involved in this."He

Chapter: NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES122ASH'S POVI was lying on the concrete floor of my cell, staring at the ceiling and counting the cracks in the paint for the hundredth time when I heard the heavy footsteps approaching. Maya was sitting against the wall, quietly sharpening a piece of metal she'd somehow managed to acquire—the girl was resourceful, I'd give her that. The footsteps stopped right outside our cell, and I heard the familiar jingle of keys. I sat up slowly, my heart starting to race. This was either very good news or very bad news. The cell door clanged open, and there stood Officer in charge, who's name I'd come to know was Rodriguez—the so called head of the entire facility. He was a big man with cold eyes and scars on his knuckles that told stories I didn't want to hear. In all my months here, I'd maybe seen him twice, and never this close to my cell until yesterday and now."Ash. Maya. You're coming with me," he said, his voice carrying the kind of authority that didn't invite questions.I looked ove

"This is a very personal moment for me."I crossed my arms and planted myself firmly by the door. "Absolutely not. I'm not leaving this room.""Alora, please. The previous night with Zach had been unforgettable—one that would remain etched in my memory forever.Sliding out of bed, I stretched and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. The soft sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow across the room. Once in the bathroom, I began to undress for a shower, savoring the quiet moment of solitude. But the peace didn’t last long. The door creaked open, and Zach stepped in casually, his mischievous smile lighting up his face.“Zach! What are you doing here?” I asked, trying to cover myself with a towel.“I want to take a shower with you,” he said, completely unfazed by my protest.I narrowed my eyes, trying to look stern, but a smile tugged at the corners of my lips. “Really? Now, of all times? You’re one naughty man, Zach.”He grinned, pulling me close by my waist. The warmth of his touch melted my resolve, and soon the rest of the morning became

Hope you're not going to cause a scene.”“Shut the fuck up,” I yelled. “I’m here to see my husband, Zach.”The woman chuckled. “Husband? I thought Mr. Zach made it clear last time that he doesn’t have a wife.”I glared at her as my patience wore thin. I could feel the urge to slap her rising within me.“That’s because he didn’t know I was the one coming to see him,” I snapped. “Now, before my patience snaps, tell me: is Mr. Zach in his office? I’m not standing here to explain myself more than I already have.”“Sorry, ma’am, but you can’t see him,” she replied.I heaved a heavy sigh. “And why is that?” I asked, my eyes already turning red with frustration.“It’s because Mr. Zach didn’t come to work.”“What do you mean he hasn’

Chapter: AN ALPHA AND HIS LUNA. Two days had passed since the battle, but the grief in my heart felt as raw as the moment Kieran fell into the chasm. The sky was a muted gray, the sun hidden behind heavy clouds, as if mourning alongside us. We gathered in the heart of the Moon Shadow pack's territory, wolves and humans standing side by side in solemn silence. It wasn’t just a memorial—it was a moment to honor a hero, a leader, and a brother. As I stood beside Luca, my heart ached for him. Kieran wasn’t just the previous Alpha; he was his brother, his blood. The loss had carved a wound so deep it would take a lifetime to heal. Luca stepped forward, his face a mask of stoic determination, though I could see the pain in his eyes. His voice carried over the crowd, firm yet tinged with sorrow. “Kieran was more than a brother to me,” he began, his words measured. “He was my challenger and although he did wrong in the past, he proved himself worthy of being called an alpha. And though he’s no longer with us, his spirit

Chapter: COST. Damian stretched his hands forward without a word, and his army surged toward us like a relentless tide.Ahead of my army, Luca and I didn’t hesitate. The sounds of battle roared around us—clashing blades, howling wolves, and cries of pain—but none of it mattered. My focus was singular: Damian. His soldiers came at us from all sides, but we carved a path through them, our movements a deadly dance. My claws slashed through flesh and bone, my senses heightened as the red energy burned through me. Beside me, Luca fought with unmatched ferocity, his strikes precise and lethal.Damian stood in the distance, unmoving, his eyes cold and calculating. Flanking him were his two dark priests, their presence radiating a dark, oppressive energy. He didn’t flinch as we cut through his wolves, his confidence unshaken. The ground beneath us trembled as the battle raged on. My army clashed with

Chapter: CAT GOT YOUR TONGUE. I took a cautious step forward, my army moving as one behind me. The earth beneath my boots seemed to pulse with the weight of the moment. The tension was suffocating, the distance between us and Damian’s army feeling like a fragile thread ready to snap. My gaze never left Damian’s face, though my peripheral vision picked up the shifting forms of his wolves. They were restless, teeth bared, waiting for the command to strike. But then, Damian raised a hand, and his wolves parted once again. This time, another figure emerged from their ranks—a man I knew all too well.“Dennis,” I whispered, my chest tightening. He walked with measured steps, his head bowed slightly, a gleaming sword clutched in his hand. His shoulders were stiff, and his movements lacked the usual confidence I remembered. My heart ached as I saw him stop just a few paces from Damian, the blade in his grip trembling ever so slightly. He turned his head just enough for me to see his face—teary-eyed, conflicted, and filled

Chapter: I'M COUNTING ON IT. After days of relentless marching, we arrived at the border of Damian’s territory. The dense forest seemed darker here, the trees more twisted and suffocating. Each breath felt heavier, the air thick with the scent of damp earth and something foul I couldn’t place. My heart pounded, though I kept my expression cold, my head held high. I couldn’t let the others see even a flicker of doubt. But when we broke through the tree line, I froze. Damian was already there. He stood at the head of his army, a wall of snarling wolves behind him. His presence was as commanding as ever, broad shoulders squared, his eyes gleaming with cruel amusement. Beside him, his generals stood tense, their claws glinting in the faint light. Every one of them was poised to strike. For a brief moment, I questioned everything. How had he known we were coming? Had someone betrayed us? Or was Damian just that arrogant, so confident in his rule that he expected us to challenge him eventually? It didn’t matter now.I
