Elias pov, Camden was tense the entire ride and became increasingly agitated as the cottage drew closer. The entire house was surrounded by an eerie silence. Elias pov, Marissa fell asleep in my arms and for a few blissful minutes, everything was alright with the world. The calm before the storm. I listened to the steady beating of her heart. The peaceful exhales of her breath. I gently stroked her hair as she mumbled in her sleep. I would give anything to turn back the hands of time. To make it so she never had to go through any of this. She would remain Zayne's and would be forever out of my reach but she would've been safe. Happy. Which was what I wanted for her above all else. Above the feelings I had for her.
