ANASTASIA

Well, I never thought I would end up like this, married at twenty-two and with a fake Identity.

There was nothing I could do, other than to accept my fate.

I had successfully paid for my grandma's treatment, and she was responding to treatment. Very soon, she would be discharged from the hospital.

Living with him for two weeks had been quite normal, he stuck to the terms, we both did. We hardly conversed with each other he's very cold and aloof, definitely not my type.

Jace Morray was a very cruel man, the most times we've met. There was never a smile on his face, he acted like I was invincible...

Why did he have to get married to me, when he was not ready to mingle?

I thought it must have been because of the rumors flying about. I looked into him, just to know the kind of person he was, I found some information about him though it held just little details.

Jace Morray, aged thirty, is known to be very cruel, by all. He was bloodthirsty, people feared him and kept their distance from him, the rumor flying around was that he was gay.

That must be why he got into a fake marriage, to possibly convince everyone to believe that he isn’t gay, but that’s none of my business.

If truly he was gay, that would be very good. I didn’t like him at all, though I found him very attractive, like who wouldn't?

Women flocked around him, fawning all over him to get his attention, not knowing he was gay and that he would never look their way. This was a win-win for me because I could be more comfortable here while living as a Scarlet.

"Oh my goodness.." I gasped, while some papers flew in the air, flying all over, landing on the ground.

I had been so endorsed in my thoughts that I didn't even notice the devil, which I had begun to address him as.

"I'm very sorry, sir…" I quickly apologized, bending over to pick up the files that were scattered all over the ground.

"I'm sorry…" I apologized, handing over the files to him, and I bent my head slightly, in fear.

"Where are you going?" He questioned, after staring at me for a very long time.

"I..I…" I stammered, I had forgotten I was about to leave, being in the four corners of this big house was so tiring, so I had decided to go out today. To go and see my grandma, and spend some time with her, before returning to this prison.

"I was out to find a job.." I lay with my head still facing downwards, as I clutched the purse I was holding tighter.

"A job.." he repeated and he stared intently at me.

"Yes.." I confirmed in a low voice.

"No need.." his voice rang in my ears, as I looked up quickly.

"Huh.." he didn't buy my lie, how am I supposed to leave if he doesn't accept to let me go?

"Now we're married, you're officially a Morray, what do you think people will say if they see my wife working?" He asked calmly and I pursed my lips.

My lie was not going to work. From the way he spoke, he would never agree for me to work.

"I want to go out, only for a few minutes.." I requested calmly, with the hopes that he would agree to this.

"The only way you can leave this house is if you take some guards along with you.." he informed me, and my brows creased.

What will I do now? I have to go to the hospital without any of them.

"I don't need one, I'm fine all by myself.." I stated.

"You seem to have forgotten what the contract states, In case you have forgotten, let me refresh your memory…" he began, and he fixed his eyes on me.

"You have to abide by my rules, and one of them states that you can't leave this house without a guard with you. " He spelled out and I gulped loudly.

He sounded serious, he meant business, but I can't allow that to happen.

"I don't need a guard, I am not a baby.." I stood my ground, they didn't know about grandma, or that I had a family.

They could find out that I'm not scarlet, and if that happened, this devil would kill me for sure.

"I'll be back before you know it.." I tried persuading him.

This man was as cold as ice, persuading him would be hard, but I would still try. Those guards cannot come with me, and I have to leave.

"Don't dare me…" he growled softly in a low, dangerous tone, obviously warning me not to overstep my boundaries.

"I…" I stopped in my tracks, as I sighted a lady walking majestically, looking all extravagant. I noticed her face wore a worried and confused look on her face, the moment her gazes met.

Who's this again? I questioned myself in frustration, pretending to be Scarlet is going to be harder than I thought.

"Hey Jace.." a seductive voice rang in my ears, and she waved playfully at Jace,

"St…um excuse me, I'll take this.." Jace excused himself. A call had interrupted him, and he left immediately, leaving me with the strange lady.

Before I could even say anything, she had groped my elbow, dragging me to a corner.

"What is this?" I quizzed. I did not know who she was, but she seemed to know who Scarlet was, maybe they were friends. I just had to play along.

"Your grip.." I stammered. She was holding me too tightly, and I could sense fury from her. She looked so angry right now, at no other person than me. Her formal friendly facade had been replaced with a hard look.

"Why the hell did you come back here?" She asked angrily, her eyes blazing saddles, as I stood shocked.

What did she mean by why did I come back here?
