“IT’S JUST I HAD a different book in mind when ink spilled on this one, plus what’s left to do in a finished book?”

They, of course, ignored me Completely probably deciding if I would not explain, they were just going to proceed. One of the three waved their hand above the inky darkness we were standing on, and instantly a book on a pedestal was in front of them on the floor. It showed off my title, ‘1001 Dark Tales’. I instantly held my breath, hoping they didn’t realize what that meant. But if they had, they said nothing. Instead, they just started flipping through the pages of the book, looking for which store to choose.

While I was standing there next to them, praying they didn’t choose more than a few of the stories.

“Poison, this one seems interesting.” The outgoing twin stated about to touch the page.

I muttered a few curses under my breath that they ‌either didn’t hear or ignored. Although Poison wasn’t the darkest story in my book; it wasn’t the lightest either.

“Shouldn’t we read the book description first?” the other twin asked

“Of course not! Who even reads book descriptions?” was the first one’s response.

He placed his finger on the page and instantly the inky blackness melted away, revealing the inside of Poisonous Poison’s bar. It was a place where beings like her went when they wanted alcohol to drink or something more, away from prying eyes. That’s something more was literally poison. You see, Poison was one of the mutated people created after a chemical explosion spread DNA-altering rain and fog all over the world. She developed a poisonous touch due to the DNA mutation.

Refusing to let it go to waste, she uses it in alcohol to give people a high, among other things, depending on how she mixes it. Of course, it is dangerous. Even a brush of her skin could kill a man in seconds; what did you expect her tears and spit to do? Or should I say mine since I was now Poison? I was standing behind the bar, wiping the counter as I leaned forward towards the newest customer who had just sat down.

He looked me up and down, devouring me with his eyes, and I wasn’t surprised. Poison was 5’7" with curves, and she absolutely loved showing off those curves, despite no one being able to touch them. Well, except for one person. At those thoughts, I tried to glance at the door, knowing he would be here soon, but of course, the storyline made me focus on the customer.

“Tell me, darling, what can I get you to drink?” I heard myself ask in Poison’s voice

Hearing my character’s voices for the first time was always a surprise, either matching my imagination perfectly or being completely unexpected, with no in-between. Her voice was sexy and sweet with just a little hint of danger, which was definitely what I had imagined. My head was tilted just slightly, and a sexy little smile was on my black-painted lips. The customer’s eyes trailed along the form-fitting black and purple dress that I wore as he reached for my hand.

“How about I have a tall glass of you?”

I pulled my hand back. “Sorry, darling, I’m Poison. Even a single touch from me will have you convulsing on the floor if you're lucky or downright dead if you're not.”

The lust instantly fell from his face as he eyed me with caution. “Do you have any poisonous tears left? I heard they go fast.”

“They usually do, but it’s been slow tonight for things like that. You’re new here, aren’t you?”

“Yeah,” he admitted, “it’s my first time.”

“Well, I can’t refuse on someone’s first time,” I stated

My body reached for the different ingredients I would need to make this drink and mixed them together with ease. However, instead of the usual colorful alcohol that I mixed it with, I mixed it up with vodka and handed it to him.

He stared at it for a second. “I thought it was supposed to be colorful.”

“It usually is, but we have someone coming today who doesn’t like when I serve those. I’m using vodka to hide it because I can’t just refuse someone’s first time. Take this to the back and stay out of sight of the stage.”

A cautious look appeared on his face, probably because of my words, and for a second, I thought he would not take the drink. He did, though gripping it in his hand as he moved to the back like I had told him to. I was about to turn to the next customer when the last song ended, and my employee stood up on the stage.

“Alright everyone, this is our last song of the evening, and it’s being performed by the bar’s owner, Poison.”

I shot him a half-hearted glare as everyone stared at me expectantly.

“I have to manage the bar Sounds-.”

Sounds waved an impatient hand, “I’ll manage you for a few seconds, come on up here.”

Not taking no for an answer, he started to chant, “Poison Poison Poison.”

The entire bar followed his example, chanting my name until finally I put the dust rag down and started walking to the stage. Sounds offered me a hand up once I got within arm’s length before handing me the microphone and jumping down. So I put the microphone to my lips and started to sing.

Darling, I am poisonous

It’s not my attitude I’m talking about

My very touch is poisonous

Even just a bush of my skin

Can have you dropping dead at my feet

Oh darling, I’m warning you, warning you

Though if you don’t heed it

I will not mourn you

Cuz I warned you, didn’t I

So come up to me

Come up if you dare

Grab my hand and give it a shake

If you don’t want to heed my warning

I will not mourn you, darling

If you want to treat my truth like a joke

Go ahead, I dare you

Darling, my touch is poisonous

Even before the last words left my lips, cheers and screams about encores went through the crowded bar. I paid them no mind since I was more focused on the man who was now standing at the bar, staring at me. He was giving me a look that told me I needed to come down there right now, and as much as Poison hated to obey, she did. I set the microphone back on the stand and jumped off the stage.

Hey, my Royalties, I have some updates to tell you. So I know I haven't been writing this book, and that's because I was stumped. Thankfully, I figured out what I wanted to do with this book. It's going to change a bit, but not a lot. You see, I decided that instead of the entire story, they'll be placed in a part of the story and have to complete a task to get to a new story. I'll try my best to get these chapters out as soon as I can. I am thinking of deleting the original chapter and then just posting new ones. Because I recently got a new editor and I told them I was doing new edits, but it's been 2 or 3 days, and there's been no response. From what I figured out, if it's the first time I'm posting the chapter, it doesn't require their approval. If that doesn't work, I really don't know what I'm going to do besides contact Goodnovel, of course. Now let's talk about my other books. Nightmare Land is not changing, but I am re-editing the first 18 chapters, which I will try to finis

He didn't wait for me to argue and instead forced me onto my knees in front of the prince. Who stared down at me with wide eyes. Like he couldn't believe I was in front of him. I reached forward, but before I could even touch him, he jerked away. "Wait... I want to pierce her first."Though he tried to say it with confidence. It was more than obvious he was panicking. I would have tried to help him, but I was more worried about myself. My thigh still throbbed from the brand, and now they wanted to pierce my tongue, nipples, and clit. Still, Raven would do anything for Fox. "Get on the bed." The commander barked, yanking me to my feet. After a moment's hesitation, I turned to the bed. Before I could take a step, though, a hand wrapped around my ankle. Glancing down, I met Fox's eyes as he shook his head at me, telling me not to do it. The commander yanked me away from Fox and practically threw me onto the bed. "Good, you woke up just in time for the fun."I landed in the middle of

The treasure room was actually the prince and my character's idea. In the plot, she was going by; they had set this trap for her. Just in case Lady Bluebird wasn't able to lead her away. The actual treasure is hidden in the prince's chambers. Somewhere none of them would ever go. It didn't take me that long to reach the room. Someone locked the door from the inside. Which none of the guards would have done. Luckily, my character was quite strong, so all I had to do was plant my foot in the middle of the door, and it flew open. The two of her men left in the room instantly turned and faced me. They each had on a black cloak and mask, as Raven had on when I had first caught her. These two wore a fox and a tiger mask, unlike Raven's raven-shaped mask. If I remember correctly, the fox mask was Fox, one of Raven's love interests. Which should be one of the twins characters. The one with the fox mask shoved the other one through the window before standing in front of it. His body was ten

After a second, I realized I should probably go with him. I mean, he wasn't able to figure out that something was wrong without my help. If he gets caught, then we're all dead. I slipped out after him. I figured none of them would leave without permission. At least I hope they wouldn't be stupid enough. They would be signing their own death warrant then. It didn't take me that long to catch up with Lord Tiger. When he saw me, he just grinned at me. He was probably thinking that I had come with him to protect him and the others. This is usually where I would open my mouth and ruin the plot. I'm figuring out why everyone is grateful that I can't speak. It doesn't mean I like it, though. We searched the entire train, but as I expected, guards were at every exit. That didn't discourage me, though. There is no way she wouldn't have an exit for her precious characters. Knowing her, though, it would be somewhere we least expect it. Or somewhere that's almost impossible to get to. I racked

I easily slipped through the train with Fox's muscle memory. However, as I walked around more, I realized it was abandoned. I had thought it was weird that no one was guarding the prince's chamber. You would expect not only the treasure to be protected but the prince himself. Something is going on. I stepped out of the shadows, no longer caring if anyone saw me. I mean, there would have to be someone who would actually have to be here for them to see me. I bolted in the direction I had seen one of them go off in. Trying to recall the plans my brother had me go over. Usually, he was the only one who bothered remembering all that shit. However, knowing this character, he would have it buried deep in his memory somewhere. He hated being useless because of his muteness. Therefore, he performed every task perfectly. After a moment of searching, the plans filled my mind. I didn't even pause in my stride. I just changed directions, running toward the man positioned closest to where the tr

  • 1001 Dark Tales   Chapter 10

I stumbled through the fire. Covering my face with my cloak as I looked for the clearing that Lady Bluebird had mentioned. She had been telling the truth about the fire. Which means she must be telling the truth about where she had left Raven. However, no matter where I looked. All I could see was the fire surrounding me. Realizing I would get nowhere stumbling through this fire. I turned back to go the way I had come. However, flames must have consumed the path I had taken because I could no longer find it. My gaze instantly went to the trees because they were the only way I could find my way back. Most were too consumed by fire for me to scale them. However, some of them had places where I could maneuver around the fire. I doubt I will be able to go around everything. Still, I really only had three options. I tied my cloak securely around my face and ran to one of the trees I could still scale. Heat radiated from it. The flames were probably about to consume it completely. Still, I
