Vale walks to her car and drives, heading towards Kayden’s house. She kept thinking about what Keith-the asshole-said to her back in his office.
She’s frustrated as hell, considering she can’t do anything at all. Because he’s a gang leader, and he can do anything as he pleases. What a goddamn deal breaker!
“Argh!”
Vale screamed as she punched the steering wheel in exasperation—sorry, baby.
How did his gang members still trust him when he broke a deal?
Did he always break a deal?
Vale scoffed.
If she wants to get killed, she can kill that son of a bitch right now!
But, now, she can’t.
She has to protect her family and friends. Even if that means getting her hands dirty, she’ll do anything for them.
Vale comes to a halt when she sees Kayden’s car parked at the garage.
Curiosity got the best of her.
She decided to stop in front of the gate and walk out. Just in case something unexpected happens.
It’s only 8:15 pm, and he can’t be back home so early.
Vale mused over while glancing at her watch.
If he were drunk, he would always come back late.
Actually, she comes back from work earlier than him.
She slowly walks to the main entrance, which is slightly open.
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
Why didn’t he close the door?
She opens the door wide and walks inside.
The clothes scattered on the floor confirmed her suspicion.
She froze.
Her heart twisted.
Her eyes burn hot.
She inhales and exhales her breath, trying to calm herself down, which is a useless attempt.
She holds onto the rail of the staircase for support.
Her hands trembled and her lips felt dried as she kept tip-toeing towards their room.
The door is slightly open.
She gulped the lump in her throat as she closed her eyes and breathed.
Letting out a whimper.
Clenching her fist, she peeks through the slight creak of the door and immediately covers her mouth to stop her gasp from being heard.
Her tears fell on their own as she watched the scene unfold.
Her chest tightens as if her breath was being sucked out of her.
Her heart shattered into tiny pieces when she saw Kayden on top of a woman.
Both naked.
The next word that Kayden said crushed her heart in a blink of an eye.
Her heart feels like it’s been torn harshly like a piece of paper.
“I love you, Mia! I love you more than her!!”
Vale stormed out of the house and headed back to Keith’s mansion.
Her hand was shaking, and she almost lost control of her car.
The rain started pouring down, making her sobs harder.
Cold. She felt cold.
Her hands tremble causing her hands to slip on the steering wheel a few times.
She got a few honks from the other car in return, which made her tremble harder.
She wipes her tears furiously since it was disturbing her view of the road and bites her quivering lips while sobbing.
She knows they’re not drunk. There’s no alcohol scent around the house.
What if they’ve always come to his home when she was out at night or when she was at work?
Asshole!
How long had he been cheating on her?
Why would he do this to her?
Is she not good enough?
Why couldn’t he tell her what was wrong?
“God damn it, Kayden!! You cheater!!”
Vale screamed as she punched the steering wheel, hard.
Relieving the memories when they were arguing a lot, Vale’s heart bleeds remembering them.
She used her fist to hit her chest, trying to relieve some of the pain as she whimpered.
She came to a halt in front of the mansion gate and left her car outside still purring, knowing that Louis would take care of it.
The gate is already half-open when she strides towards the mansion, ignoring the confused guards.
She thanked the rain for hiding her tears even when they were drenching her clothes.
She wouldn’t want them to see her like a crybaby.
Vale walks towards the basement.
Maybe some training will do.
Or a potent drink.
She wanted to forget what she had seen just now.
She doesn’t want to believe it.
But how can she not?
She saw them with her own eyes.
She heard him saying he loved that woman more than her.
Vale’s vision is still blurry because of the tears.
She stumbles into a wall and falls onto the floor with her butt first.
“Ugh!” She whimpered.
The pain of the impact shoots up her butt.
Vale looks up to see Keith looking at her with anger on his face.
Her tears slid down her cheek when she blinked, and his eyes suddenly looked at her with concern.
“Hey! Are you okay?”
Vale got up slowly as she looked away from him.
She turned her back on him as she wiped her tears, hating the fact that he caught her eyes water after a very long time.
She ignored him and tried to walk past him.
He grabbed Vale’s arm as he turned her to face him.
She looked down not wanting to show him how vulnerable she was right now—a fresh hot liquid trailed down her cheeks as she sniffled.
He caught Vale’s chin between his thumb and index finger. His warm fingers moved flawlessly, wiping away the tears streaming down her cheeks.
She tried holding the tears in, but she couldn’t.
What Kayden did today had broken her heart into pieces.
Completely.
She turned away from him and ran back to the basement and stopped at the end of the hall.
Vale doesn’t care if he sees her crying.
He’s the reason why she had to feel this agonising pain in her chest.
Damn, it hurt so much.
She opens the metal door and walks inside.
She locked it so no one could stop what she was going to do next.

Keith walks out from the basement door after taking out her anger for Valentina on the unfortunate punching bag.
He doesn’t want to hurt her harder than punishing her for making small mistakes in her mission.
He doesn’t know what happens to his mind to say that lie to her.
He doesn’t even know who Kelly is.
That’s right. He lies to Vale.
She seems a bit distracted, and he doesn’t want to send her on a mission if she’s distracted.
Keith doesn’t want her to get killed or suffer from getting caught.
He made it clear. He’ll keep her safe.
Keith snaps out of his thoughts when he feels something collide with his body.
It stumbled to the ground.
Valentina.
“Ugh!!”
Anger rushed through his veins, but he caught something glistening on her cheeks.
Oh shit! She’s crying!
She looked at him.
“Hey! Are you okay? ”
Keith asked in a concerned tone.
She stands up and turns her back on him.
She tried walking past him but Keith grabbed her arms and turned her around to face him.
Her face lowered as she sniffled.
Keith raises her chin and wipes her tears away as his heart tugs at the sight of her red puffy eyes.
She turns her head away and runs back to the basement.
Whoa! What was that?
Keith knows she’s pissed at him, but that wasn’t how she takes out her anger.
She never cries after the blackmailed day.
Now, Keith doesn’t know what makes her act like that and comes back here all of a sudden.
Whatever was it that made her cry must be the worst thing ever.
One more thing.
Shh! Don’t tell her.
She’s hot and beautiful.
Keith doesn’t know if she can kill a fly, but indeed she kills most of the drug and human traffickers in this town.
He’s proud of her.
And of course, to eliminate everyone who gets in the way of his gang's excellent reputation.
He can tell that she really loves her family and friends looking at the way she’s trying her best to complete every mission.
“Hey,”
Keith turned around when he heard a voice behind him.
It’s Caleb, the guy who has short dark hair.
“Hey,”
Caleb, Jake, Brett, and Dylan are Keith's best friends and the most trusted people that he has.
“Where are the others?”
Just then, the three of them show up, throwing Keith a smile.
“What happened with Hot Chick? ”
Jake asked, and Keith narrowed his eyes at him.
Jake raised his hand in surrender.
Keith doesn’t like other men to look at Valentina like she’s prey. He’s the only one who can do that.
He knows she has a boyfriend, and it pisses him off.
But, for sure, he’ll always wait for the day she breaks up with him and runs to him.
Both of them had that attraction, okay?
He doesn’t want to swim in that attraction.
He already tried once and had to be in bed for a week.
The wild girl kneed him where the sun doesn’t shine.
Suddenly, a loud bang from the basement snaps our heads towards the direction of the sound.
Oh shit!
If she wanted to destroy the basement, I would punish her for sure!
The basement is quite the view. You may think that this is where the enemy suffers until they die.Nope.They had another base or cell to keep them.Vale wouldn't want to live and sleep here if she had to hear their voice screaming in agony when they're being tortured. She walks up to the bar table and grabs a bottle of beer. She opens it and shoves it down her throat with tears sliding down her cheek. She sat on the chair and wiped her tears and gulped down another shot down her throat.Again and again. She didn't know how many bottles she had downed on her throat as she tried to make the suffocating pain in her heart disappear. She emptied another bottle before taking another bottle of wine and tried making her way to the couch.Stumbling, she cries and sometimes laughs bitterly when she recalls the scenes.Vale shoves the drink down her throat, not caring that some of it was spilt on her face and clothes. The pain she's feeling is all Keith’s fault. If he hadn’t given the job to ano
Vale woke up with a throbbing headache. She sat on the bed, still closing her eyes and let her hand wander to search the nightstand beside the bed for her phone. Her eyebrows furrowed when she noticed that her phone was not there like it usually does. She opened her eyes in confusion. Looking in front of her before looking around. Her eyes stopped on the mysterious figure on the couch and her jaw hit the floor hard.Keith was sleeping peacefully on the couch.A soft breeze made her shiver and realize that she was naked. What the hell?!She paced around the room, trying to be as quiet as possible while searching for her clothes.'Oh, god! Oh, god! I didn’t do it! Right?' Her mind went into a mess.Just then, she saw her clothes in a basket. She reached out for it and realised that it was drenched from the rain and she cringed at the pungent smell of alcohol. She bit her lips in frustration. She sighed and looked around the room for anything to cover herself up.She stepped inside the b
He walks towards her, grabs her arm and drags her into the kitchen.'No, no, no!''If he wants me to make breakfast for him, no, I don’t want to and will not do it!'He sat on the stool, and Vale stood beside him, facing him.“Princess, I’m starving.” he pouted and made a cute puppy face.Vale faced the ceiling, praying that she would be strong enough to look at him. One of the things that mostly hold her from winning is his puppy face. She was surprised when he did it for the first time.Right then and there, she knew, she couldn’t win against his puppy face. Vale wondered if any of the guys had seen him like this. What kind of a feared gang leader would make a puppy face?'Damn it!''How can I resist him?'Vale closed my eyes, 'Inhale, exhale.'Think about a cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, flowers, her family, her Mustang. That’s it! She's going back to the living room.Vale turned around, but a pair of arms swiftly grabbed her waist. Vale gulped when she felt electric sparks fly wher
Vale scowled at him but Keith turned his attention to his breakfast.“As always, your food is the best.” he compliments her.Vale always had her own time at the base when Kayden was out of town for work.Vale mentally laughs. Was it really because of work? The guys always cook by themselves when she isn't here. So, when she has the chance, she will cook for them.'Thank you, mom. Thank you for letting me help you cook since I was six.'Vale knew her family could hire a cook but her mother insisted that she wanted to cook. Her family nor her friends know about her blackmailed matters. Except for the friends that she met in the gang. They didn’t know where she went when it turned dark. She made an excuse and sometimes she felt remorseful for them because she was good at lying.Vale actually felt relieved when Kayden asked her to move in with him, saving her from being suspected by her family. It’s much easier to escape from suspicions if she lived with one person who was certainly not h
Vale stormed out from Keith's room and stride towards the balcony. What do people usually expect from a hidden killer?Jump from the balcony onto the ground beneath?Yeah, call her crazy, but she never fractured her bones after a lot of training and experience. She's not jumping right away. Usually, she would back away a few meters from the rail before running towards it, putting her right foot on the holders, jumping and doing a few backflips. She looked at the grounds, searching for guards.Vale could see one at the far corner on her left, and another one is facing his back on her. Check! Security camera? One on her left, check! That was easy for her. Even if it moves around a lot, she can still escape it.Okay. So, here we go!One... Two... Jump!Thud!...and there...Vale landed on the ground smoothly. She ran towards the nearby tree, shielding herself from the guards and the security camera. She kept running and hiding until she reached the tree near her car. Thanks to Louis, he p
Who loves flowers?Vale did. She bought a lot of it, and the robot will do the work of planting it.Cleaning the house and planting a flower. Cool, right? The flower decorations were also arranged perfectly as it made the mansion look more lively.Vale grabbed her phone and stepped out of the car. She put her finger on the fingerprints tab to open the gate, right when she entered the lawn, the gate closed on its own.She walked along the decorated pavement before climbing the short stairs leading to her mansion's entrance door.Unlike the gates, she has to use her keycard to open it. She stepped into the house and switched on the light located near the door.Vale ascended the staircase while unlocking both of her phones, the gang phone and the normal one.Reaching the top floor, she turned right and walked past nine doors before stopping in front of a big door.Vale opened the door and glanced at her phone. Wow! Forty-two missed calls! All from the guys! She opened her other phone and
Vale parked her car on the side of the road. She can hear the loud music reverberating from Remy’s house.Grabbing her phone and her bag, she walked out of her car before locking it.Vale walked to the door, stepped into the house and looked around for Nancy’s face. There are too many people inside this house, making it harder for her to find Nancy.“Hey, Vale!”Vale turned around and saw Remy walking towards her with a grin on his face. She furrowed her eyebrows. Why does it look like he hasn’t been drinking anything?“Hey, it’s been a while!” she smiled at him.Remy and Vale met in high school. She isn’t sure if he is in a gang, but the important thing is that he doesn’t know what she does.“Yeah, it’s nice to see you again.” he chuckles nervously.Wait, nervous?“You haven’t drunk. Why?” Vale raised her eyebrows at him. She mentally cursed her dumb brain.“I’m a host, babe. Gotta sober to watch over my guest.” he grinned.Vale chuckles and shakes her head at him, acting like an exce
Kayden grabbed Vale’s right wrist, stopping her.Vale looked back and opened her mouth. But, ended up closing it when the woman he kissed before walked towards them, pecking his lips when she reached them and made Vale look at her with disgust.Vale tugged on her wrist and looked straight into his eyes, daring him to say, do, something....and she saw his eyes that speak louder than anything.Guilt.Vale tugged again but harder this time.Mia noticed this and furrowed her eyebrows before smiling at her.Sickly sweet.“Hon, who is this? Stop playing with the women’s hearts. It’ll break their heart to know that we’re engaged, ” she calmly said. What the hell?! They’re engaged?! Vale gritted her teeth harder and it began to hurt. She narrowed her eyes at Kayden before shouting, “Let me-fucking-go!!” she shouted over the music with ferocity gaining attention from the crowd.Great. Just great.“No! Vale...Let me explain-” Vale cut him off with a hard slap.A series of gasps and whispers ar
