Jump

Vale stormed out from Keith's room and stride towards the balcony.

What do people usually expect from a hidden killer?

Jump from the balcony onto the ground beneath?

Yeah, call her crazy, but she never fractured her bones after a lot of training and experience.

She's not jumping right away. Usually, she would back away a few meters from the rail before running towards it, putting her right foot on the holders, jumping and doing a few backflips.

She looked at the grounds, searching for guards.

Vale could see one at the far corner on her left, and another one is facing his back on her. Check!

Security camera? One on her left, check!

That was easy for her. Even if it moves around a lot, she can still escape it.

Okay. So, here we go!

One... Two... Jump!

Thud!

...and there...Vale landed on the ground smoothly.

She ran towards the nearby tree, shielding herself from the guards and the security camera.

She kept running and hiding until she reached the tree near her car.

Thanks to Louis, he parked her car near in line with a tree.

Still ducking, Vale grabbed one small stone and threw it at the guard who was guarding the left corner. She beamed when it actually hit his head.

“What the fuck?!” he yelled.

Oops! His head is bleeding.

The guards on the front door run towards him and Vale runs towards her car.

She winked at the guard on the gate, Louis, as she opened the driver’s door and slid in.

Vale closed the door and started the engine before she drove through the gates. Louis had opened the gate for her.

Why did she not walk away using the main entrance? Knowing Keith, he presumably wanted to punish her and ordered the guard to stop her.

Right when she pressed on the pedal, the guards noticed her and started firing as they ran towards her.

Passing the gates, Vale took a right turn. She noticed two cars coming from the left road.

Dang!

She sped up the accelerator towards the city.

Not to Kayden's home, of course, and not her family either.

But, her own mansion that no one knows.

Except her, herself.

Telling Kayden about this mansion was like digging her own grave. He definitely will ask about where she got the money, etc.

The same goes for her family and friends.

Being a hidden killer was worth it.

Was it?

Vale glanced through her sideways mirror and noticed two cars following her.

The problem is that there were five cars behind her, successfully shadowed her car from them.

How did she know?

They seem to get a lot of car honks for trying to cut the other line.

Too obvious.

Did Keith even know how to keep a secret? If the other gang saw her getting chased by Keith’s member, she'd be dead for sure.

Vale smirks as the cars come to a halt at the red light, reaching the roundabout.

Is she crazy?

You say it yourself.

‘Ah! I said it myself.’

Vale is in the front row, roaring her car engines and sped up straight towards the road in front of her.

Yes, okay.

There’s a car coming from Vale's left and right. But did she say that she halted when the red light appeared in her view?

Nope.

The cars on the left and right honked at her. But Vale ignored them as she drove full speed towards the road in front of her.

Innocently.

Then, the cars on her left and right proceeded with their drives after she passed them, covering Vale from the car that was following her.

She smirked.

She glanced at the passenger seat and frowned.

Her phone is resting comfortably on the passenger seat. Vale remembered that they could track her phone, both of her phones.

Vale quickly reached for her phone and turned off the tracker on it. Thank God, she left her phone in the car yesterday.

Vale looked back onto the road and accidentally glanced at her car's small TV screen, warning her that she was being tracked.

She pressed the small button beside the screen, and the tracking stopped as she smirked.

Vale glanced at her car’s clock, and it showed 5:47 p.m. It took her one and a half hours to escape and another 3 hours before she was out of the area.

Now, she had reached another city where her mansion was built. But, it was hidden in the woods.

Away from the noise of the busy city.

Forgot to mention that her car’s plate number had been changed to another plate number just now.

She has to do it considering that there is CCTV on the side of the road.

Let’s call it technology. Vale's car was provided with a unique technique.

She can press the button on the headboards to change her plate number when necessary.

Other than shooting and bombing, the speed was also upgraded. Kayden never knows of that, though.

They always went out using his car.

Except when they went to work.

Vale came to a halt in front of her two-story mansion. She didn’t want to brag about how large it was.

But, she can’t tell where the edge is because she can’t see it.

The gate was not that high.

The tricky part is that Vale requested for it to be electrocuted. It actually looks pretty harmless.

One touch and you’ll be paralyzed in seconds.

She needed no guard.

The surveillance cameras are enough, adding a few robots working in and outside the house.

Vale also made sure that the robot was upgraded. So, it can tell her everything she wants to know.

But, the robots are still limited and can only fulfil their function as a robot that has no feelings.
