Princess, I'm Starving

He walks towards her, grabs her arm and drags her into the kitchen.

'No, no, no!'

'If he wants me to make breakfast for him, no, I don’t want to and will not do it!'

He sat on the stool, and Vale stood beside him, facing him.

“Princess, I’m starving.” he pouted and made a cute puppy face.

Vale faced the ceiling, praying that she would be strong enough to look at him. One of the things that mostly hold her from winning is his puppy face. She was surprised when he did it for the first time.

Right then and there, she knew, she couldn’t win against his puppy face. Vale wondered if any of the guys had seen him like this.

What kind of a feared gang leader would make a puppy face?

'Damn it!'

'How can I resist him?'

Vale closed my eyes, 'Inhale, exhale.'

Think about a cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, flowers, her family, her Mustang.

That’s it! She's going back to the living room.

Vale turned around, but a pair of arms swiftly grabbed her waist. Vale gulped when she felt electric sparks fly where this man was touching her.

“Don’t disobey me,” he warns her in a husky tone.

“I am not your whore nor your slave, Keith.” Vale gritted her teeth in annoyance.

“But, you're mine and also my other half. For me to live, I need the other half to help me.”

“You're crazy!”

Vale tries to pry his arm away from her. Keyword, try.

“Damn it. You look good on my shirt.”

'And now, he’s changing the topic?'

'Where is his jerk attitude?'

'Where’s my accusing hot asshole?'

'Where’s-wait, what?'

'Did I just call him my hot asshole?'

'Good grief.'

Her breath hitched, as her heart began to pump faster.

“I think I need to change into my own clothes then.” Vale let out a chuckle—a nervous one.

'Urgh! Why am I not acting like a bitch today?'

Instead of answering Vale, his breath fanned her neck. He was trying to distract her with his charm as a player.

“Keith, let go. I’ll make you breakfast.” Vale said, changing the topic.

He chuckles before letting her go.

Vale strode towards the fridge to make him breakfast—a fast one. She grew uncomfortable because she could feel his eyes burning a hole in her back.

Vale put the breakfast in front of him and strode towards the living room.

But, his voice stopped her.

“Sit down.”

Vale walked back and sat at the end of the countertop far away from him.

“In front of me,” he ordered again.

Vale glared at him before moving towards the bar stool in front of him. She put her head on the table using her arm for support.

She doesn’t want to see his face.

Vale didn’t know what she would do after this. If she continued to work in the office, Kayden would be there to confront her.

That’s right; she still has to work.

Vale sighed heavily.

She should inform Nancy that she can’t go to work for a few days and pretend to be sick.

'Damn it, Kayden.'

She should have gone to that freaking party so she can watch him. Her heart hasn’t gathered back to its piece.

She thought that after she got drunk and woke up, she wouldn’t even feel anything anymore.

Wrong.

Every bit of breath seems too painful to take.

“Vale, are you okay?” Keith’s voice snapped Vale out of her thought.

She raised her head and saw his blue eyes full of concern.

'Just tell me this is a dream.'

The asshole-gang leader seems to have some mental health.

He never shows concern except for his family.

“I am fine, Keith.”

He raised his hand and ran his thumb on her cheek. That’s when Vale realised she was crying.

'Why did he have to watch me cry?'

This had been the third time.

Vale hated him for never looking away when she felt vulnerable.

“K-Keith?”

“Hmm?”

“Am I ugly?”

“What kind of question is that?”

“Just answer it!”

“No, you’re not. Don’t even think about it,”

Vale hated his face.

Especially his eyes. It shows sincerity.

Another tear rolled down her cheeks.

His fingers felt so warm against her cheek.

“Don’t cry, it’s not worth it. That guy didn’t deserve you. He doesn’t know how to appreciate your love, okay? ”

Vale nodded, and he retracted his hand.

As much as Vale hated to say this, she missed his warm fingers on her face.

“Thank you,” Vale said in a whisper tone.

“I didn’t do anything, princess,” he chuckles, making her blush.

“Anyway, I hope that you coped with your feelings as soon as you can. I don’t want you to get distracted on your mission,”

...and just like that, the weather changed.

Asshole.
