Breakfast

Vale scowled at him but Keith turned his attention to his breakfast.

“As always, your food is the best.” he compliments her.

Vale always had her own time at the base when Kayden was out of town for work.

Vale mentally laughs.

Was it really because of work?

The guys always cook by themselves when she isn't here. So, when she has the chance, she will cook for them.

'Thank you, mom. Thank you for letting me help you cook since I was six.'

Vale knew her family could hire a cook but her mother insisted that she wanted to cook.

Her family nor her friends know about her blackmailed matters. Except for the friends that she met in the gang.

They didn’t know where she went when it turned dark.

She made an excuse and sometimes she felt remorseful for them because she was good at lying.

Vale actually felt relieved when Kayden asked her to move in with him, saving her from being suspected by her family.

It’s much easier to escape from suspicions if she lived with one person who was certainly not home most of the time.

Rather than living with her family which had ears open even at midnight given that all of them were light sleepers.

“Vale?”

She felt sick hearing this gang leader calling her by her nickname or giving her a nickname.

But, somehow she got used to it though.

“Yeah?”

Vale realizes that his plate is now empty as he looks at her with..guilt.

'Shoot me.'

This gang leader is not the Keith that she used to mock in her heart.

“I lied,” he confessed.

Vale tensed up.

Just pull the trigger, man!

The asshole-gang leader is confessing!

“W-what are you talking about?”

“I didn’t hire someone else to take over your job,” he explained.

PLAK!

The sound can be heard from all sides of the mansion.

Vale stood up with fury in her eyes. She ignored the sting from the contact of her palm against his cheek.

It’s the sound of her palm slapping the most feared gang, Black Rose gang leader’s face.

Vale was too damn angry.

She was right.

If he had sent her to the mission yesterday, she wouldn’t have known that her boyfriend was cheating on her.

She shouldn’t -wasn’t- supposed to know him cheating on her. Then, maybe then, they could still live together and love each other.

Heck, she doesn’t have to feel this pain, strangling her.

Vale looks at him with sheer hatred. Even though she knows deep down, this hatred comes from her anger and disappointment towards Kayden.

She balled her hands into a fist as her teeth gritted.

His friends hastened towards them, obviously hearing the slap that she sent to their friend with puzzlement on their faces.

Vale's eyes were clouded, aching to let out a stream of rivers.

Okay, maybe she should let one tear go. One tear and no more.

Guess what?

Her eyes betrayed her as the tears rolled down her cheeks continuously.

She chuckled coldly and wiped her tears.

“Ha! I thought you understood. I almost thought you cared...(sniffle)...You’re right. He doesn’t deserve me or my tears. Do you think you deserve it? No. I forgot that you’re heartless, cruel, a player, a cold-blood killer, an asshole, an arrogant jerk!”

“If you sent me to the mission yesterday...(sniffle)...I wouldn’t have to see them. I will still live with him right now...and..I...I...don't have to feel like this...”

With that, she walked away from them.

Vale dashed towards the staircase and into his room, grabbed her car keys from her drenched clothes in the basket and slipped into her wet boots.

His clothes?

She'll throw it in the garbage later.
