Forty eight: End, Beginning.
The cool breeze staggered through us, teased my hair, causing goosebumps to rise on the exposed part of my skin. I smiled as I stared up at the sky, so happy. Particularly happy because Roy was with me. He had his arms around my waist from behind, no inch left between us.
"When will you return?" I asked him, my voice soft.
He pecked my ear. "In a week. You'll miss me?"
"Hmm, maybe."
He sighed. "Renee, I'm so glad we're finally going to be happy."
"Me too." I sighed.
"I can't wait for you to graduate. We'll be able to leave here, and start a life together," he said.
