MAYA’S POV~

“Hi, Maya?” The lady smiled, welcoming me into the room where I saw my best friend hooked up to machines, barely conscious.

“Oh my God, Kate!” I rushed to her side, her parents crying beside her. “Who the hell did this?” I cried, “I saw her this morning!” Tears ran down my face. I touched her arm and lowered my head. “Pookie, can you hear me?” She didn't stir.

My body went cold, snot running down my lips, and I wiped it away and turned back to the doctor.

“Hi Maya, I'm Doctor Sterling. Look, I'm just going to rip the band-aid off as painfully as I can. She needs a heart transplant, or she won't make it.” The doctor started. Kate's parents sighed in anguish.

“Doctor, 100k! Is a lot of money coming in? No one saw the bastard who did this?” I inquired, “Come on, doc, give me something to work with here.” I couldn't leave here without answers.

Someone has to pay for this. “All the hospital knows is that it was a red Porsche; it zoomed off before anyone could catch the plate number. Maya, you need to find a way to come up with the money before Monday, or the hospital is going to take appropriate measures to ensure Kate’s comfort," she continued.

“Comfort?” I asked, my voice cracking, “You know what I mean, Maya. You are just going to check Kate into hospice. The hospital doesn't want that as much as you do. If you can come up with half the money, Then we can get something started. She’s got insurance, but there’s so much they can do,” she finished before nodding at her parents.

Kate’s mom turned to me with tears in her eyes. Kate's going to die, isn't she? My daughter is going to die!” she sobbed. I shook my head.

“No, no, she won't. I'll make sure of it. I have one more person to try. I'll be back."

She waved goodbye at me.

I got out of the cab and smiled at the doorman; he stepped in the way. “I didn’t know we were expecting you today, Maya,” he said, smiling nervously.

“What's going on, Albert? I'm here to see Allan. Anything wrong?” I asked.

“No, just that, um…”

“I don't have time for this, okay? I just want to see Allan.” I moved his arm out of the way before I walked past him.

I ignored him and focused on the elevator. I got in and tapped the 2 button.

The elevator dinged, and I entered the suite. My ears were welcomed by the ferocious attack of my boyfriend’s dick in his nanny's pebble-waiting pussy.

“Yes, Allan! Say you want this pussy; it's all yours!” Her moans ripped through me like a sword.

“What the hell is going on, Allan!” I cried; he looked at me cold and unimpressed. “What the hell are you doing here, Maya? It's not Tuesday," he started, getting up from the bed, his dick still hard like a rock.

My heart shattered into a million pieces.

"Finally, we can be done pretending; it's too sad to go on at this point,” he finished.

“Maya, I’m not in love with you anymore. I’m tired of keeping up with these pretenses. I can't wait until after marriage to taste that!” he yelled, pointing down at my legs.

“I love Miss Pebbles, and I’m taking her home to my parents tomorrow. I know they were helping you out with some of your bills, but you are just going to have to figure it out. You are a big girl, so get your shit and get out.”

“Your old Nanny! Really!” I exclaimed in tears.

"She's not just a nanny; she’s more than that,” he finished, kissing her hand.

Miss Pebbles giggled and got out of bed. She walked over to where she had already packed my things and tossed me the bag.

“You heard my fiancé...” She flashed me the diamond-cut ring I'd picked out with him days ago, thinking he was lying to surprise me with a proposal.

I grabbed her hand in shock. “You bastard, you told me this was for your mother’s birthday; you lied to me!”

Miss Pebbles laughed before pushing me away from him.

“So pathetic, poor little Maya, get out. I can't stand you anymore. You heard him; it's over.” She hurried me into the elevator, and not once did Allen look up to see me.

“Allan, she's your nanny!” Even though guilt ripped through me knowing I had a much better night than this, I still wasnt expecting this betrayal

“Not anymore, okay? Miss Pebbles and I are in love!” he retorted. “Deal with it.”

She waved at me and pushed me into the waiting elevator.

"Bye!" The door closed in my face, and my soul descended.

I burst into tears; my life is over.

All in one night, my friend, now my man, goodbye to college.

My dreams… all dashed, and now…

The elevator door pinged open, and like a zombie, I stepped out, cradling my bag like the last thing on earth I owned.

I bumped into someone again; I turned, he turned too, and our eyes met.

I stepped back in shock.

This aura, the same cologne, a familiar smell, too familiar...

Could it be the Strange Masked Man from earlier? No, it's too much of a coincidence, and the look of disgust on his half-hidden face was enough to discredit him from being the man I just gave my virginity to just hours ago.

“Watch where you are going. I swear if another person bumps into me again, I might just lose it.” He stood before me, huge, his palm folded into a fist.

Something unique about him: he wore an eye patch over his right eye, and his long hair covered a good majority of his face.

So I couldn't see him clearly, but his aura….

“I’m sorry... But you are not the only one having a shitty day.”

“Excuse me?” He sounded instantly offended, but I didn't care; I'm fighting back for once.

Do you know who I am? I'm Aleksandr Harri….”

“I don't care who you are; as a matter of fact, I just want you out of my face," I retorted, moving out of his way; he grabbed my arm immediately.

His face melted into anger.

He was stunned at my audacity. “How dare you speak to me like that? I can have you thrown in prison for this!”

He was going to continue in a condescending tone, but the sound of clicking trickled into the hallway. It came from behind me, and a soft voice called my name.

“Maya Collins?" I recognized that hateful, slithering voice anywhere.

“What the hell is this trash doing here?” She laughed mockingly.

She walked in front of me and held on to Aleksandr. “Petra, do you know her?” he asked.

“Yes, Alek, well, not anymore. She’s a loser, a boyfriend snatcher from high school. How is life now? Still a loser snatcher, I see." She grinned, holding Alek tighter.

“Petra…” I sounded instantly irritated by her, and she could tell.

“What the hell are you doing in Estonia? Are you stalking me"”

“Why the hell would I do that?” I scoffed, my mind racing to get out of this apartment building.

“What I'm doing in Estonia is none of your concern. Her mocking tone helped me realize I've been a fool all along.

Foolish to trust Allan, I thought he loved me.

“Maya, if I had known you were a homeless person here in Tallinn, maybe I'd have given you a room in my aunt’s leaky flat. Humiliating yourself this way is so embarrassing, especially in front of someone as renowned as….” I cut her spiteful ass off.

“I don't care who this gremlin is standing beside you; I'm not going to apologise for having a hard day."

I ignored her and the man she called Alek and focused on my bag; just as I was about to pick it up, Alek scoffed, switching his feet to kick me off course, but as fate would have it, he stumbled, falling on top of me, and then in a split second, I had tasted his lips.

Funny… for the strange-looking man he was, he tasted weird… almost like pussy juice.
