ALL HE WANTS is a night with her. A COLD REFUSAL TURNS INSTANTLY TO REGRET Then came the call that shattered her world: her best friend, Kate Harlow, had just had a catastrophic accident—a DIFFICULT MISSION FOR MAYA: one hundred thousand dollars. Money Maya doesn’t have, BUT desperation drove her to the devil himself. His name is Aleksandr Harrington, a well-known Estonian war criminal. Though he masks his identity to avoid the law, his plan for revenge is well on the way; all Aleksandr has to do is lie low and let it play out. But then an unprecedented miscalculation has disrupted his plans, and her name is MAYA. He knew he recognised her somewhere—somewhere from his past. SOMEWHERE IN NEW YORK. Worst of all, this evil man, Maya, can't stand being related to a long-time crush, art lover, and philanthropist, KEVIN CARTER. She’s now locked in a deadly game between two rival brothers. Maya faces a cruel bargain: she must decide which of the brothers is worthy of her PRICELESS BLOODLINE, who will father the heir to the Harrington empire. A cold deal, one heir for one hundred thousand dollars, or Kate dies. A DEADLY MISHAP: Marooned on a private island with the man she both fears and desires, Maya must wrestle with her pride FOR HER BODY or risk Kate’s survival. Because in this dangerous game, passion could be her only salvation.

Estonia, land of my fucking dreams. At least for now, a week ago I was out of a job, broke and in so much debt that I could die. >>>>>>>>>A week ago… “Maya. If you do not remit payment for this semester, you will be required to retake this course.” That was an email representative from NYU. My friend Kate sighed over the phone, “What are you going to do Maya? You can't stay with your grandma anymore” she asked. I ran my hand through my hair as more thoughts crossed through my mind. “Maya, you are not part of your grandfather's will; your father says you are a bastard and your mom was a whore he spent just 1 night with." That was my father’s lawyer, a message from prison. Dad now calls himself my stepdad. All my life, it's been one sad tale or another; someone is always walking out the door, and no one looks back to know how I feel. “I don't know Kate, I'm on my wits’ end, I'm getting thrown out by Friday” I faced vilification and accusations of being a gold digger when I chose to do a good deed by whistleblowing on a famous art thief who framed my father. And now, the same father doesn't want shit to do with me. “Look I can get you a few gigs here in Tallinn, a club needs a fill-in, it's just for a week but you get paid, like really paid Pookie ” My ears were joyful to the good news. “I'm taking it, shit Kate I don't have money for flights or..” Kate laughed, “It's a sponsored job dummy, are you sure you can do it, my mom and dad can't know about it” I swallowed hard. “What type of job is this? Bartending?” Kate sighed, “Look, friend I know you are smart but you also got a body to kill for, the men in Estonia are hungry for it, I'm gonna send you a contact, if you are sure you need the money call him, it's just a week and you’ll be back with enough to get your own place back in New York” I had nothing to lose, and by the end of the day, I had signed a contract with Kurt, the manager. By morning I was on my way to Estonia. 5 days into the job and I'd already made enough to last me a while to pay off some of the debt. Kate was heaven-sent, An angel. 2 days until the end of my contract>>>>>>>> I locked the apartment, looked both ways before crossing the street; I just have to get to my job before… Aarrgh. Bright light blinded me almost immediately. I was stunned; I stepped back. The car sped by fast; I blinked fast, but before I could see it, it had splashed muddy water all over my orange coat. “FUCK! Can today get any worse?” I heaved in frustration before checking the time: 10 pm. Shit! Kurt, the club manager, will deduct this from my final pay if I don't stick to the schedule. the damned bastard, and I was right. He stood by the back door, fuming with anger, waiting to descend on me as I crossed over to meet him. “You are late!” he fumed. I gave a shy smile. “I'm sorry, Kurt I got stuck….” He slammed his hand against the door; it flew open, and the perpetual sound of sin and chaos roared from inside, reminding me of my tragic life yet again. I dreamed of becoming an artist, painting my pain onto a canvas, but there’s the matter of my unpaid debt. “Does it look like I run a charity here, Maya? Does it write Kurt’s charity bar in front of this building?” he bellowed. I was about to reply, but his stern look prevailed over whatever I had to say to him. “This is a strip club; you begged for this job, Maya, remember? If you don't need it anymore, I suggest you find other means of employment, because I won't tolerate Tardiness!” His voice was finite, and I immediately fell to my knees. “Kurt, I'm sorry, okay? It won't happen again! Please, I need this job! "Please!" I pleaded. I felt utterly humiliated when I heard the other girls giggle and laugh behind Kurt. I noticed someone had parked a few feet away from where I begged Kurt for my job back. A tall man got out of the car and watched us for a while before walking in through the back door of the building, where I knelt begging. He was masked except for his eyes. Something about the way those grey eyes scanned me unsettled me. He shot me one last look before disappearing behind the door. “I don't think this approach works anymore, Maya. I need my girls on time, but you seem to want to wander off on your own," he scoffed. “I don't collect strays." He paused before clapping his hands in my face. He was about to continue when another man, a guard we called Ajax, whispered something into his ear. Kurt smiled in an unsettling way. He looked at me with prideful eyes before gesturing for me to get up. Phew, relief! Wait, does this mean I've got my job back? “You are in luck," Kurt smiled. I looked at him, confused. “I don't understand?” I stuttered. “A client has asked for you, just you, Maya, so you'd better do a good job or kiss your contract here goodbye; he is in the private suite." Kurt walked away, leaving me in a state of curiosity and confusion all at once. I've been working here for 5days, and no one has ever called for me specifically. I'm just a plain, boring girl, who could ever want me? Kurt had come to drop off a costume, I had to wear specifically for this client. I was uncomfortable because most of it was open, my nipples shot out of the red-colored cut-up bra. Kurt grabbed my arm aggressively. "He is not a regular here, but he has money to spend” “ so make sure he spends it, or you are out!”Maya’s pov~ A soft pat on my cheek followed by the echo of a resounding slap on the cheek, woke me up instantly.I was groggy and still dizzy, but the slap was enough to stimulate me back into reality.“Good, she’s up” I heard a young woman’s husky voice say.I blink my eyes awake, where am i, i was lying on soft padding but I could tell I was on the floor.“Is she awake yet?” Another softer voice asked.“Yes yes she is, thank God, I thought she was dead” the husky woman stated.“Yeah, we won’t want you rotting and ruining the air now.” I looked around, eyes looking back at me, “Where am I? Who are.. " You,” I groaned in pain, I touched the back of my head.Dry, thankfully no blood but I swear I hit the wall so bad I thought I died.“You need to get yourself together, I don't know where they found you, but if you don't get it together you are getting chopped for shark bait” the husky woman said. The thought of it shook me back to reality, “What? Oh my God! Alek! Alek!” A woman quick
ALEK’S POV~“Sir! We got him” That’s all I could hear before gradually coming back to my senses. The first thought that flew past my mind was my wife STILL in her white bra and panties.Anger welled inside me, who the fuck are these guys ruining my wedding night?“Put him on the phone!” the other man yelled through the mask he wore, I felt my weak body get flung into a van and almost immediately the van moved into the main road.I heard gunshots behind me before the driver luckily screeched down the road.“Fuck! We got off!” the driver announced. Slowly, my eyes started to function, the smoke had cleared and now the air was breathable. My body was still weak but I could feel my legs, “shit tie him up! Do you know who the fuck we just snagged?” the driver yelled again, the two other men quickly zip-tied my arms and legs.“Now I'm gonna put you on the phone okay? Any strange sudden movement and I'm gonna knock you the fuck out” I nodded.I needed time to fully regain myself, I felt lik
Maya’s pov~ That night as Alex threw me onto his bed, I quickly scampered for the pillows as a fortress between us. “You think that’s going to save you from what I'm going to do to you?” He asked with a grin, his arms on his hips and he laughed. “What are you going to do to me?” I asked, frightened. I hadn't had time to ask around why he had been tagged the most dangerous man in Estonia. My husband was huge in form, his feet were grounded and it felt like he could stump a man to death with one fatal blow. He always had his eye patch on, specifically covering the right side of his face, why does he hide half his face all the time? I watched him slowly unbutton his shirt, “So you were hoping for Kevin then, something tells me, that way you are staring at me right now, is not the way you’d hoped for the night to go down” he smiled. Wickedly. He took off the shirt and threw it on the arm chair, he walked closer to the bed, my husband terrified me. “Maya, come over here,” he instru
Maya’s pov~ The nurse’s voice was shrill, almost like she was too terrified to tell me what was going on. “There’s been a complication following a brief procedure,” the nurse explained carefully. “She’s stable for now, but we still need authorisation for the remaining treatment expenses as well as the transplant .” Tears burned my eyes immediately. No. Please don't let my friend die. “I’ll pay it, expect the check by tonight” I said quickly, voice breaking. “Please just don’t stop helping her.” The nurse hesitated softly, then paused a long time before she continued. “It seems the Harrington account has just approved the charges.” I froze, h…How, I haven't even said I Do. My gaze lifted slowly toward Aleksandr, He was already watching me. His expression was unreadable. Almost like he knew exactly what that phone call meant. He knew that Kate was the ball and chain keeping me here. A painful lump rose in my throat. A sham marriage. “Thank you, I’ll come see her soon,” I w
