FAZER LOGINDAPHNE'S POV
The remaining people in the bar area were craning their necks to watch us. Lyssander waved a hand furiously. "Go to a room and let's talk."
"You seemed to enjoy kneeling in public earlier," I countered, raising an eyebrow provocatively.
He was wearing a tank top that clung to his muscular frame. His trousers were unbuttoned, left in a messy state. Why didn't he just enjoy himself with Melantha in a room instead of letting her run out like that?
Or perhaps he had other girls on the side, so he didn't even care about her? How disgusting!
"Don't speak as if you’re better than me, Daphne!" Lyssander emphasized as he tightened his hold on Melantha. "You greedy woman. You’re never satisfied. You were just with another man yourself!"
"Oh, but... look at how she’s dressed..." Melantha giggled.
The others laughed along. Clearly, they believed my current attire wasn't attractive enough for any man to pay attention to me.
"True, it would be a miracle if anyone even noticed her," Lyssander sneered with contempt.
My cheeks burned. The laughter made me want to tuck my tail and run. I stood my ground, however, and asked, "What did you use to buy that house for her?"
"With my money, of course." He turned pale. He released Melantha and stepped forward to shield her.
"Your money?" I laughed. "Or was it mine?"
"The money of a foolish woman who gave all decision-making power to her husband."
"You bastard!" I growled and lunged forward.
Lyssander backed away.
"Coward!" the bartender shouted.
"It was you who agreed to it, Daphne. You entrusted me with the freedom to use your assets. You and your foolish, greedy self—and that wild family of yours!" Lyssander roared. "You drive me crazy!"
I punched Lyssander in the face. He staggered backward. Melantha and those around us were visibly shocked. She stood between me and Lyssander and shrieked, "That’s going too far, Daphne!"
"How ridiculous. I’d have to be an idiot to stand by while someone insults my family."
"Get lost, you spoiled brat!" Melantha yelled at me.
"Shut your mouth, you fool!" I snarled. I glanced at the crowd that had been enjoying the hell out of this drama.
They immediately dispersed.
"You won't be able to do anything to him. You’ll lose everything, Daphne. He has many connections that can easily ruin you. So, get on your knees and beg him for forgiveness."
"Threatening me?" I laughed. "Even your whore has the right to threaten me now!"
Melantha helped Lyssander stand up. They looked like a pair of pitiful victims being bullied by me.
"Our relationship isn't even worth as much as a whore's crotch," I said, staring deep into Lyssander’s grey eyes.
For a split second, it seemed he felt some sympathy for me. But as soon as Melantha pressed her face into his shoulder and whispered something, Lyssander’s attitude shifted instantly.
His voice became colder and firmer. "Mel is right, Daphne. I have many connections that could destroy you. No matter... what you think you are."
Yes, he was right. I was a lone werewolf. And he was a man with social standing. He didn't need me; he only needed the girl he deemed precious. I could only endure it, breathing deeply. I would back down and prepare the divorce papers.
And then what? Then he would go back to having fun with her as if nothing had happened.
"Lyssander." I parted my lips, my heart tightening. "Why did you have to do this to me?"
My husband was stunned.
"You know full well I only had you. I trusted you enough to let you know everything about me. Is this what I get in return?" My eyes welled up.
"You..." Lyssander swallowed hard. Melantha’s hand touched his chest.
Her plump lips parted. "She isn't satisfied with you."
"Do you share everything with her?" I wiped the tears from my cheeks.
"Daphne." Lyssander looked pained as he faced me. "...tell me, do you love me? Throughout the time we’ve been together, have you ever... been satisfied?"
"That’s just about sex, Lyssander." And it shouldn't be discussed here. I instinctively shrank back, looking around to see if anyone was listening.
"What’s there to hide? Everything is already out in the open." His lips trembled. He struck his chest. "I thought the reason lay with me. I changed, but you stayed the same. You didn't even try to improve it..."
"Shut up, Lyssander," I stammered, "It’s not..."
"Mel is the one who let me know I’m normal. You’re the abnormal one! Tell me the truth, Daphne. Throughout the time you loved me, were you ever fully devoted to me?"
"Yes," I affirmed, "That is the one thing I am certain of."
"Then you misunderstand yourself." Lyssander tightened his grip on Melantha’s waist. "Go away, Daphne. This is no place for a hole made of dry clay."
I stood frozen at his insult. He was implying that because I didn't show satisfaction in bed, he had the right to betray me, to destroy me...
Lyssander and Melantha left coldly. Without a glance back. Without an apology... even though I had managed to evoke a sense of guilt from him.
My husband didn't bother to empathize with me. Didn't stand by me. He blamed me for everything. Soon, I would go home and divorce him. The assets would be split, and I would lose my woodshop because it was under his name.
I would have nothing left.
And he would gather with his friends. Kissing Melantha’s wet lips. They would forget about Daphne Leandros, whom they had made miserable...
"No. They don't have the right to do this to me," I muttered and started to move toward the quiet hallway.
I could go straight home, hug my mother and cry my eyes out, then prepare for a divorce and sink into a life of self-reproach. I could go straight to Lyssander, snap his neck, and tear into his whore. But that wouldn't accomplish anything.
I wanted to destroy him from the roots up. I wanted him to suffer and look at me differently.
I wanted him to be ashamed that he couldn't conquer me. Ashamed because, when he whined about me not showing satisfaction, another man would do it ten thousand times better than him.
I knocked on the door three times. Theron’s door opened, revealing the muscular man standing before me.
Theron wore a smug smile. "Hello, Daphne."
DAPHNE’S POVI slept in Theron’s bed last night. My senses confirmed it, but what truly woke me was his kiss. His naked body pressed against mine, pinning me firmly to the mattress. His lips were warm and powerful, pulling at mine. His invasion was so intense that I could hardly breathe.Alright, it was strange that an Alpha like Theron would treat me as if he desired me to the point of madness. It wasn't as bad as I had thought. When he finally pulled his lips away from mine, he stared at me with a cold expression. “It’s time to wake up.”“Okay.” I remained motionless for a second. “You’re still pinning me down.”“Alyssa is here. She’s in the living room. Clean yourself up quickly to talk to her.”I hated the way he gave me orders. Before, when I was just a regular member of the pack, I was fine with hearing the Alpha command me like that. But after my time with Lyssander, I loathed these kinds of dictates.“You should still let me go,” I reminded him.“Don’t. Even. Think. About. Run
DAPHNE’S POVThere was always a silent sea watching over me. It was Theron’s eyes.My knees pressed into the mattress as I leaned forward, my hands grasping his veiny rod. My mouth opened, slowly taking it into my throat.Theron let out a hiss of satisfaction.Taking a deep breath, I let it slide down my throat. My cheeks hollowed as I sucked firmly. My hands toyed with it like a favorite soft toy.Theron’s hands wove into my hair. The way he groaned let me know I was doing well.Giving someone so much pleasure that they moaned your name always brought a sense of ultimate victory—as if you had conquered them. The dildo between my legs was now only vibrating at a faint rhythm. Clearly, Theron didn't want me to reach a second climax and accidentally bite him there. It was even more special when he began to lose control because of your mouth. My hand began to stroke more vigorously. My tongue swirled around the length of his rod. Theron was gradually peaking. I could feel it through the
DAPHNE’S POVI opened the door to my house, carrying my remaining bags, and stepped out.“Let me help.”Joe spoke up, taking two cloth bags and a suitcase. He paused and asked, “Was there someone in your house?”“There was a guest, but he just left,” I replied nonchalantly. I didn’t want Joe to know about my injured friend. If that man had wanted to make new friends, he wouldn’t have gone into hiding like that.As Joe carried the luggage out, I looked back into the house one last time. It was the home I had been attached to for the past three years; unfortunately, I hadn't even had the chance to say a proper goodbye. I reached out to turn off the lights and whispered, “Please flip the circuit breaker when you leave. Thank you.”I locked the door. I stared at the bunch of keys for a long moment before tucking them into my handbag. I would have to return them to Lyssander if he won the lawsuit. Seeing him again made me want to throw the keys away, just like throwing away all the respons
DAPHNE’S POV Having not seen him for a few days, Lyssander looked more haggard than I remembered. His blond hair was longer, disheveled, and matted. Stubble grew sporadically on his chin, giving him a bizarre appearance, and his gray eyes held a distinct wildness. His clothes were somewhat rumpled, but so were mine. I was in no position to judge him."Is he your new lover?" he snapped at me the moment he arrived."Did you walk here, Lyssander?" I crossed my arms over my chest, meeting his eyes with a defiant gaze."I asked you... is he your new lover?""What is it to you?""I’ve seen him, so don't try to hide it from me. He’s the guy you met at the club and followed all the way here, isn't he?" Lyssander seemed to be trying to learn how to growl like a werewolf. However, he couldn't; his voice only grew hoarse and sounded desperate."Lyssander, what is going on?""You don't need to know.""Then I'm going inside." I turned around."Don't," Lyssander called out. "I just need you to tel
DAPHNE’S POVEverything seems to pass once you realize there are so many problems left to solve in your life. After having writhed in agony and misery because Theron had abandoned me, I had to remind myself that I still had a family behind me. I couldn't cry like a child over something so trivial.Taking out my phone, I called Daven."Daphne?" Daven answered."Pick up my car at Aethelion Group. Then come to our old house to pick me up, okay?" My voice trembled. Every word I spoke made my throat burn."Why are you there?" There was suspicion in Daven's voice."It’s a long story.""Does it have to do with Theron?""Daven, just come get me!"I hung up. I quickly cleaned up the items Theron had left behind. My parents shouldn't know what was going on between us. I hid the items in my room, hoping my mother wouldn't decide to show off her cleaning skills, find them, and die of a heart attack from the shock.Once finished, I received a message from Daven, "The gatekeeper won't let me into t
DAPHNE’S POV"Round two. It’s been a long time since I..." Theron trailed off."Since you what? Missed me?""Yeah." I had the feeling his face had darkened, but it was clearly not visible. Perhaps it was just the shadows of the house. He carried me up to his old room. He had said he’d cleaned it up, and it was clear he wasn't lying. My room was still spotless. The mattress and bedsheets were exactly as they were when I lived here, only newer and crisper. He laid me on the mattress. My hand brushed against my mint-colored bedsheet, recalling the bloodstain from the night we discovered we were mates. I didn't know when it happened, but he was holding a handheld massager."When did you buy that?" I frowned as he flipped me onto my side on the bed."At the shop." Theron turned it on, wedging himself between my legs."Oh my god, Theron. You really have a lot of tricks." I widened my eyes as he skillfully managed our position. He knelt while I lay on my side. One of my legs was pulled strai
