Mag-log inDAPHNE’S POV
I was eighteen.
The hospital was quite empty when I arrived because it was already very late. My younger brother, Daven, was standing by the reception desk, seemingly inquiring about something.
"Daven," I called out, my body drenched in sweat.
"Daphne!" Daven turned around, ran over to me, and gave me an update. "Father is fine. He’s sleeping. Do you want to go visit him?"
"Is Mom there?"
"Yes, she’s keeping watch by his side in case he needs anything." Daven pulled me toward a chair, and we sat down. He pursed his lips. "I’m sorry, sister. We should have been at home celebrating your birthday."
"Is that why Father was driving home early?"
"Yes. Everyone thought it would be a surprise to celebrate a day early." The smile faded from his face. "But I didn't expect it to turn out like this."
"Do you know why his car went into the river?"
"Father fell asleep at the wheel."
"Just like that?" I was momentarily dazed, my thoughts drifting toward other possibilities.
"It seems so. Are you okay? You look... weak." Daven placed his hand on my forehead. "You’re burning up. I’ll go get you some medicine."
"No, I’m just... a little tired. I’ll go home. If anything happens to Father, let me know, okay?" I stood up.
"Yes, but are you really okay? I’ll ask Theron to drive you home."
"No!" I almost shouted, drawing the attention of the entire hospital. I lowered my voice, feeling embarrassed by my brother's stunned expression. "No, I’ll go home by myself. I can just take a taxi."
"It’s almost 12 o’clock. Theron needs to head back to the pack anyway, and he’ll pass by our house."
"Theron is here?"
"Yes, he was the one who brought Father in." Daven replied, looking behind me, "There, he’s right there."
I turned around, my heart pounding faster. Theron seemed to have just stepped out of the toilet; his entire body was soaking wet. He was walking toward us.
"Can you take her home? She’s not feeling well," Daven asked.
"Sure." Theron nodded and stepped forward. "Let’s go, Daphne."
He opened the car door for me. My whole body froze for a second before Daven pushed me forward. I stepped out the door, and Theron followed. We both remained silent the entire way to the parking lot, and we stayed that way until the car stopped in front of my house.
"Thank you." I quickly opened the car door and dashed out.
Theron frowned, getting out of the car with me. I walked to the porch. He remained there when I unlocked the front door. He looked like he wanted to come in, but I blocked him. "I'm inside now."
Theron arched an eyebrow. "I need to make sure there are no intruders."
"Intruders?" I laughed. "There aren't any. You can smell the air yourself!"
Theron pushed me aside and stepped inside. "Get ready for bed."
He liked to give orders. He had been like that since we were kids. It wasn't just because he was two years older than me, but because he was just like his father, Alpha Nicholas. My mother thought he would eventually become an Alpha just like his father.
However, he was overly calm and quiet. I had been close to him when I was little, but he would only show up to watch the fun, never participating.
Sometimes people thought he was distant, but I knew he was very close to us, especially my family. That was why he acted so fiercely protective. As for me, I usually tried to make him feel comfortable in our home.
"You can use the bathroom, you know. You can wear Father’s clothes; they might be a bit old-fashioned, but they’ll look decent," I called out as he went to check the kitchen.
He nodded silently, not even bothering to ask if I was alright. I ignored him and headed upstairs.
"Daphne," Theron called out suddenly. I stopped and looked down at him. He was standing at the foot of the stairs, looking up at me. "Happy birthday."
"Thank you," I smiled, then headed up to my room.
Once upstairs, I rushed into the bathroom, and I began to hear the sound of water running downstairs.
Perhaps it was fate that kept my family at the hospital, leaving the house all to ourselves. As I stepped out of the bathtub and entered my room, wrapped in a white towel, I hadn't even had a chance to close the door yet.
Just as the clock struck midnight, my body temperature began to soar as if I were burning. My heart constricted so violently that I fell to the floor. An intoxicating, intense scent overwhelmed my senses. My vision suddenly blurred.
Fast footsteps echoed up the stairs, then stopped.
I looked up because the scent and the desire were filling my body. He stood there, wearing nothing but a pair of my father's sweatpants. The bulge between his legs was prominent. Water clung to his bare, toned abs, and a few droplets rested on the dark chest hair, glistening like undiscovered diamonds.
His face was radiant, handsome. He curled the corner of his lips in a devious smile. "Everything is exactly as it should be."
Just like that, he lifted me into his arms. When he laid me on the bed, my entire body screamed that I belonged to him, and he to me, forever.
I let the desire take control, not refusing his sweet kiss. His scent was amazing, and his hasty, clumsy movements were endearing.
He bit my neck, then kissed it. Kisses were scattered across my face and chest. His hand slid between my legs, bringing the first pleasure of my life.
"Theron..." I could only moan his name while he was between my legs, as he penetrated deep inside me.
All that remained was the instinct of two teenage werewolves who had just caught the scent of their fated mate. He took me from pain to bliss. I scratched his skin, kissed him, and left my own obsessive bite marks on him.
By the time it was over, by the time I lay beside him with my hand on his chest and he had fallen asleep, I realized everything was terrible...
That morning, I woke up early, dressed properly, and waited for him to wake up. I sat on a chair, trying to stay as far away from him as possible.
He woke up and flashed a radiant smile. It was the first time he had smiled like that at me. It was sad that I had to extinguish it.
Looking deep into his eyes, I opened my mouth. "I, Daphne Leandros..."
"Daphne! Don't you dare!" Theron roared.
"...reject the fated mate bond with Theron Aethelion. I accept all the consequences this brings."
As soon as I finished, my head ached like crazy. Theron clutched his face and screamed horribly. I was no better; everything in front of me turned pitch black. Two streams of liquid flowed from my eyes and nose. My heart pounded madly. My body burned as if I were being consumed by fire.
I collapsed to the floor and groaned.
"Why, Daphne? Why?" Theron asked me, in agony.
"Because it has to be this way, Theron. Because it has to be!"
I never regretted the decision to reject Theron back then. Even though it caused us both excruciating pain and pushed me to the decision to leave Junglerage.
I knew that the right and most logical thing to do was to reject him.
DAPHNE’S POVI slept in Theron’s bed last night. My senses confirmed it, but what truly woke me was his kiss. His naked body pressed against mine, pinning me firmly to the mattress. His lips were warm and powerful, pulling at mine. His invasion was so intense that I could hardly breathe.Alright, it was strange that an Alpha like Theron would treat me as if he desired me to the point of madness. It wasn't as bad as I had thought. When he finally pulled his lips away from mine, he stared at me with a cold expression. “It’s time to wake up.”“Okay.” I remained motionless for a second. “You’re still pinning me down.”“Alyssa is here. She’s in the living room. Clean yourself up quickly to talk to her.”I hated the way he gave me orders. Before, when I was just a regular member of the pack, I was fine with hearing the Alpha command me like that. But after my time with Lyssander, I loathed these kinds of dictates.“You should still let me go,” I reminded him.“Don’t. Even. Think. About. Run
DAPHNE’S POVThere was always a silent sea watching over me. It was Theron’s eyes.My knees pressed into the mattress as I leaned forward, my hands grasping his veiny rod. My mouth opened, slowly taking it into my throat.Theron let out a hiss of satisfaction.Taking a deep breath, I let it slide down my throat. My cheeks hollowed as I sucked firmly. My hands toyed with it like a favorite soft toy.Theron’s hands wove into my hair. The way he groaned let me know I was doing well.Giving someone so much pleasure that they moaned your name always brought a sense of ultimate victory—as if you had conquered them. The dildo between my legs was now only vibrating at a faint rhythm. Clearly, Theron didn't want me to reach a second climax and accidentally bite him there. It was even more special when he began to lose control because of your mouth. My hand began to stroke more vigorously. My tongue swirled around the length of his rod. Theron was gradually peaking. I could feel it through the
DAPHNE’S POVI opened the door to my house, carrying my remaining bags, and stepped out.“Let me help.”Joe spoke up, taking two cloth bags and a suitcase. He paused and asked, “Was there someone in your house?”“There was a guest, but he just left,” I replied nonchalantly. I didn’t want Joe to know about my injured friend. If that man had wanted to make new friends, he wouldn’t have gone into hiding like that.As Joe carried the luggage out, I looked back into the house one last time. It was the home I had been attached to for the past three years; unfortunately, I hadn't even had the chance to say a proper goodbye. I reached out to turn off the lights and whispered, “Please flip the circuit breaker when you leave. Thank you.”I locked the door. I stared at the bunch of keys for a long moment before tucking them into my handbag. I would have to return them to Lyssander if he won the lawsuit. Seeing him again made me want to throw the keys away, just like throwing away all the respons
DAPHNE’S POV Having not seen him for a few days, Lyssander looked more haggard than I remembered. His blond hair was longer, disheveled, and matted. Stubble grew sporadically on his chin, giving him a bizarre appearance, and his gray eyes held a distinct wildness. His clothes were somewhat rumpled, but so were mine. I was in no position to judge him."Is he your new lover?" he snapped at me the moment he arrived."Did you walk here, Lyssander?" I crossed my arms over my chest, meeting his eyes with a defiant gaze."I asked you... is he your new lover?""What is it to you?""I’ve seen him, so don't try to hide it from me. He’s the guy you met at the club and followed all the way here, isn't he?" Lyssander seemed to be trying to learn how to growl like a werewolf. However, he couldn't; his voice only grew hoarse and sounded desperate."Lyssander, what is going on?""You don't need to know.""Then I'm going inside." I turned around."Don't," Lyssander called out. "I just need you to tel
DAPHNE’S POVEverything seems to pass once you realize there are so many problems left to solve in your life. After having writhed in agony and misery because Theron had abandoned me, I had to remind myself that I still had a family behind me. I couldn't cry like a child over something so trivial.Taking out my phone, I called Daven."Daphne?" Daven answered."Pick up my car at Aethelion Group. Then come to our old house to pick me up, okay?" My voice trembled. Every word I spoke made my throat burn."Why are you there?" There was suspicion in Daven's voice."It’s a long story.""Does it have to do with Theron?""Daven, just come get me!"I hung up. I quickly cleaned up the items Theron had left behind. My parents shouldn't know what was going on between us. I hid the items in my room, hoping my mother wouldn't decide to show off her cleaning skills, find them, and die of a heart attack from the shock.Once finished, I received a message from Daven, "The gatekeeper won't let me into t
DAPHNE’S POV"Round two. It’s been a long time since I..." Theron trailed off."Since you what? Missed me?""Yeah." I had the feeling his face had darkened, but it was clearly not visible. Perhaps it was just the shadows of the house. He carried me up to his old room. He had said he’d cleaned it up, and it was clear he wasn't lying. My room was still spotless. The mattress and bedsheets were exactly as they were when I lived here, only newer and crisper. He laid me on the mattress. My hand brushed against my mint-colored bedsheet, recalling the bloodstain from the night we discovered we were mates. I didn't know when it happened, but he was holding a handheld massager."When did you buy that?" I frowned as he flipped me onto my side on the bed."At the shop." Theron turned it on, wedging himself between my legs."Oh my god, Theron. You really have a lot of tricks." I widened my eyes as he skillfully managed our position. He knelt while I lay on my side. One of my legs was pulled strai
DAPHNE’S POVThere are so many things in a sex shop, you know what I mean? There were items displayed in glass cases that I didn't even want to know the reason for their existence.I looked at the chains and the whip nearby, shivering. I commented, "Why would anyone like to be treated like an anima
DAPHNE'S POV"I didn't ruin it. I checked it, and then...""It is truly irresponsible to let personal emotions interfere with work, Daphne." He stood up straight, puffing out his chest. "I advise you to go home and sort out your personal affairs instead of staying here, Daphne."I took a deep breat
DAPHNE'S POV"What are you doing here?" I asked.Theron rudely snatched the two shopping bags from my hands and looked at the two suitcases left near the car."Go inside; I'll bring the luggage in," he ordered."But why are you…?"My words were cut off by Daven. He was now as tall as Theron and loo
DAPHNE’S POV"You—" Lyssander cradled one side of his face, pointing a finger straight at me."I’m right here," I said, my expression stern. "Do you need another punch?"Hearing the growl in my voice, Lyssander scrambled to his feet. "You will pay for this," he spat.He stormed out of the room with
