Chapter 5

5. He Is... Caring.

Pain was the very first thing she felt after unlatching her lashes. Luckily there was no sudden light cutting her vision. So it was easy for her to adjust within the atmosphere.

Lisa hissed woefully when she attempted to move her left hand, it was paining badly as if it was pushed inside hot boiling water.

Her irises itched. She rubbed her eyes when she sensed that her body was cocooned in warmth. She looked across from her, taking small breaths and realized her position. She was lying peacefully under a tree with a bonfire near her feet whose flames kept her warm while the winds floated in her direction.

She was taken aback when the realization hit her. It was not because she was in better condition now but because her black cloak was removed and her shoulderless gown was put at view. It was torn from the side like a natural slit on a gown.

Lisa's cheeks heated up. Her muscles tensed up, she quickly covered her body with her hands as soon as her eyes met with the rogue guy.

The light of fire cast a hue shade on his facade. He looked extremely adorable as a sweet smile crept on his mouth. He was sitting near her legs caressing her sore ankle.

But his sweet smile disappeared when he saw her flinching her legs back. Alan let go of her foot, and gave her her space.

"Uh you were sweating and your cloak had completely drenched in it, I had to remove it." he informed before she could flare her bunch of questions on him.

"And your ankle, it was damn sore. I was afraid it would hurt you. So..." He said, grinning hesitantly while running his fingers through his hair.

Lisa seemed to relax even though it was not the right time to be serene as she was actually alone with a rogue. A rogue that had a strength that can do anything to her. He did give an example in the afternoon by killing the panther with a strike. However, she still can't put herself away from trusting him.

He looked dangerous, his dark Obsidian eyes shook her every time she saw them. His handsome face glistened with positive emotions whenever she spoke. Although she was scared, she was happy.

He was the first person she met in so many days. Her heart sank in relief as he was really worrying for her.

Alan could not stop his lips from curving up from ear to ear. Her nervous and fearful demeanour made her seem more gorgeous.

"Where is my cloak?" Her articulation was soft, he could understand she was weak and needed food.

From just looking at her condition he can say she was hungry. Just that she didn't ask for anything even though her stomach growled. He was impressed by her perseverance!

Lisa chewed her cheek wearily as her pupils locked with his dark ones while the flames of the fire made him shine in its light like gold. He had fair skin glowing under the twilight.

"It was dirty so I just washed it. It is there on the tree, drying up." she nodded her skull lightly and rubbed her arms. "You will get it back within a few hours, it is almost done."

The moon was shining between the black clouds. The chirping of the night insects gave another impact to the situation, seemingly bending it into a beautiful night. They were not in the forest any more but in an open ground surrounded with big trees from all the sides.

Sitting comfortably against the trunk, Lisa watched how he put the wood blocks in the fire, lighting it up more. She closely watched his face caressing her skin that seemed so smooth. It was astonishing when she smelled her arms.

It was coconut, the smell was fresh and soothing. It even did heal the cracks appearing on her skin. So he actually applied some mashed coconut while she was asleep.

She admired how he walked from here and there with wood blocks and big banana leaves. If she was not mistaken, he was trying to build a house with bamboo, wasn't he?

She was curiously watching him carry bamboo until— her mind eventually drove to the moment when she attacked him with her dagger.

Her heart sank at the memory and she regretted it. It was, however, not the regret why her pupils widened and she tried to get up from the ground.

"Where is my dagger? And my bag?" she was on the verge of bursting into tears when she could not see them anywhere near her. Her eyes swiftly travelled up til his face in dread.

Lisa struggled to get up but lack of energy got the best of her motives, hence, putting her to where she was, on the ground.

"Hey easy, your bag is there on your left side near that thick root. And your dagger is inside of it." She heard him say.

She sighed getting hold of her bag. She rummaged through it to make sure everything was inside just as it is. All the things she had brought with her.

"You need not worry. I didn't see through your bag, you can trust me on that" He smiled sitting across her feet.

Her mouth tasted bitter, hunger was irritating her.

"I just..." she had no idea what to say. He was being helpful and here she was leaving no point to doubt him.

Regardless he only returned her a cute smile. "It's okay, I would do the same if I see a rogue. But you don't have to be scared of me." Alan stated, his face held neutral expressions that baffled Lisa.

She was unsure how to behave. He was a rogue but the way he treated her, it was unbelievable. Nobody treated her like this after her parents' death. Her own uncle, ugh, she clenched her teeth not wanting to think about him.

"Hey, can you please stretch your leg and pull your gown a little bit away?" She was taken aback when he was once again kneeling near her feet.

Rather than abiding by his words, Lisa hugged her arms out of fear as he did not give her a good vibe now. She bit her lips feeling unsafe, however a small sigh, and she knew she was mistaking him.

"Uh your skin is dry and cracked, it is not good for you to stay in this forest like this. You might catch an infection." He was reasonable enough to assure her he was just trying to help her out.

"I once had a big scratch on my neck which turned purple and blue due to lack of treatment. Trust me, it was hard to survive." He lied, Lisa innocently swigged her saliva.

Her eyes went back to normal size realizing his intentions. There was no need to feel insecure around him. If he were a bad guy and a destructive rogue, he could have shown his reality already.

But no, he not only did save her from the panther in the daylight but also he was helping her in the dark night.

So without any further doubts or inquiries, Lisa hesitantly pulled up her gown. Revealing her perfectly waxed, slender legs to his views, she bit her lips.

She could feel her cheeks turning crimson as she noticed his gaze.

A big lump in the throat made her breathing difficult. She could feel her skin heating up under his sight. The fire was hardly anything around the ignition she felt pouring from his Obsidian irises.

"Uhm may I?" asking for her permission Alan ushered the brown, half shell of coconut near her feet.

When she looked closely, she found the same content in it that she smelled on herself earlier— the crushed coconut white.

With a light pondering nod, Lisa gave him the permission. She could somewhat see his desires, still she cannot stop herself from trusting him enough. Yeah, the worry lingered in every breath she inhaled, yet she was now super sure he was not as bad as she had thought.

When his fingers came in contact with her skin as he applied the coconut lotion on her ankle, a strong wave of current passed through her blood vessels. Her muscles tensed and arms shuddered.

She let the scrim of her lids fall before her peepers, feeling relaxed under his touch. Her legs stretched out further and allowed him to go till her knees.

His palms were rough. Like a sand paper that is used to soften the bumpy and edgy wood for a polished platform. Yet it did nothing but give rise to weird sensations.

She has never been touched by a man before. Except for one, her crush.

Lisa lost the track of time, she was not really in her mind to verify that he was now sitting almost in between her legs. His digits worked on her inner thighs.

His company was like the first shower of rain that had her lost within him totally. She clutched the end of his collar as she slid her legs on his either side, now sitting on his member.

Her arms snaked his neck and he gladly pulled her in his embrace. With a soft breath and a heavy heart, Lisa unbuttoned his shirt and latched their lips for a feathery kiss.
