Ascending to the Moon

She turned around when she felt something that struck on her back.

She gasped in surprise. She can't believe what she just witness.

The man that she love the most was holding an arrow and a bow pointing at her.

The tears on the goddess eyes starting to shed. Frustration, pain, longing and betrayal screamed all over her face.

A footstep running from behind her make her wail in pain and frustration even more.

She's a princess and she owns the heart of the man that she love the most.

She stole her happiness.

How dare a mere princess mess with a goddess like her.

She point her bow and arrow at the princess. But before she let go of the string something stuck on her heart.

She looked at the culprit. He's looking at her with a blank expression on his face.

She can't scream, the tears on her face starting to flow like a falls that keeps on flowing and she doesn't know when it stops.

She can't control her tears.

She looks defeated. She doesn't look like a goddess on her state. But a desperate wife who's trying to win her husband back.

No, she already know for a long time that she's defeated from a mere mortals.

She's just trying her best to win him again even it cost so much.

Even she's putting her title as a goddess.

She closed her beautiful eyes and felt the pain by the betrayal of her beloved.

She's starting to become numb. She doesn't know if its because of the arrow or the man behind the arrow.

She doesn't have energy to deal with it. She just letting it flow and just feel the pain.

She's scared to find out the truth.

She's so scared to lend her hand again to the man that she loves to pity her and pick her up.

The swings of the sword all that she can hear around her.

The scream of pain of the mortals, she doesn't know if its the pain or they are just eager to kill us.

"Artemis, what the hell are you doing? Stand up and fight back." I heard a voice from behind me.

I know that voice. I will miss that thick voice of my twin brother, apollo.

I looked again at them but they are starting to run away.

He holds the princess hands. He's holding it as if it's sort of treasure for him that he can't afford to lose.

The sight is unbearable..

How i wish that it was me.

How many times i kneel infront of him to choose me.

How many times do i need to sacrifice everything for him.

Well, it works for a short time but he suddenly change.

And that short time is the beautiful happening in my entire goddess life.

The bows that we had under the moonlight.

The kissed that we shared in the morning while laying on his arm.

The hug that we shared under the dew that fell from the leaves of the trees in the dawn.

His arms that give me warm during the colds.

His kiss that makes me feel secure everytime when were together.

His hands that holds me as if it's telling me that i got your back when you fall.

His feet that leads the way always for me to find my way back home in the woods.

His chest that makes me fill the warm and has the capability to let me feel that im secure and im home. Whenever it press on my cheeks.

The love that we share in the woods under the tree were birds chirps happilly as if it's cheering us.

Our laughter when we took a bath in the stream and enjoy each others company.

Our chuckle everytime we will hunt wild animals for food.

Our unending happiness. No! My unending happiness in his arms was fade away in just one night.

One wonderful night for my revelation, but i was caught off guard when i found him and the princess kissing each other.

The giggle everytime their nose meet.

The stare that they shared.

Was so painful for me to bear that i don't have any choice but to runaway from them.

"I will kill you, orion." It was apollo's voice.

No! He can't kill him.

I saw apollo run towards orion.

"You can't kill him." I ran towards their direction.

I need to save him for the last time.

I kept on running and looking around but i cannot find them.

I cannot summon any birds on my state. I don't have my whole power.

The birds starting to fly and making a noise in the trees.

It's in the oak tree.

Nothing can scare the birds just a god or goddess.

The wind is cold not normal for a humans.

"How could you do this to her?" It was, apollo.

His sword sparks under the crescent moon.

His about to lift it up and slash orions neck, when i throw myself to orion.

The blood that drips from the edge of my brothers sword is not from the man that he dreamed to kill.

It was from his twin sister that he treasures the most.

I lift my gaze to him and gave a warm smile.

"Is it painful? I'm so sorry. Sorry!" He's tears continue to flow and the veins all over his face are visible.

"Sorry!" He hugged me tightly as if he's putting all the blame on himself.

"No. It's okay. It's my will, don't blame yourself, brother." I smiled at him while my tears started to flow again.

I can't bear this sight from my twins.

"It's not painful. Do you know that im a goddess?" I asked him trying to comfort him.

"Do you still take me for a fool? How many times do you transform yourself into a human being? Even you know the price." He wailed.

"Sorry, brother." I said while wiping his tears.

Blood from my mouth starting to flow. I was coughing fresh blood.

The pain that i have to endure for the sake of my twin brother.

This how does human feel?

"Yaaah!" It was the princess voice.

I looked at her she's holding a sword and i started to trace the sword.

No. The sword is on my brother's chest.

"Sorry! You came this far because of me, brother." I cried.

I looked at the sky and saw a beings.

A cunning beings but i will try my luck.

I will trade them my soul to save my brother.

Hera, Leto and Azraelle just witness the betrayal and death of my beloved.

But, before i could say a word a sword stuck on my chest.

I traced the sword and looked up.

It's the man that i love the most.

Blood from my womanhood starting to flow.

I felt something huge that is about come out but that's when apollo's head lose it balance and fell on my stomach.

I looked at him. Shock and pain was written all over his face while starring at my womanhood and legs.

"I'm pregnant, we need to go." It was the princess voice.

She pulled him and he just follow leaving us behind.

I want to scream and let the pain out. But i cannot.

I wan't to kill them, but i can't.

It seems that I ran out of energy to deal with them tonight or in this life.

I just want to disappear but no! I will make them pay for the price of my son and brother.

"In the name of the moon. You will both be in pain and longing, both of you will cry endlessly. The woods and any kinds of animals will hate you. Everytime the cresent moon appeared in the night sky you will dream of me, my pain, your betrayal, my tears, and it will be a nightmare." I screamed.

"I will make the both of you pay!" I cried but they already runaway in the woods.

"Selene, Selene. The goddess of light, that lights the world during the night. I summon you!

I pulled the sword on my brothers chest and slash my palms.

Blood drips from my palms and the sword. I raised my hands in the light of the moon. goddess blood that drips continously and in the light of the crescent moon can summon, Selene.

Suddenly, a light struck at my back from the moon was starting to form a being.

Selene ..

She's here.

She's wearing a white long gown, jewelries was on her head and neck. Her beauty is incomparable.

She's indeed a goddess of the wonderful moon.

Her presence screamed authority and elegance.

But, She's a cunning goddess

I will just try my luck this time.

I need to make them pay.

"I cannot save all of you. Your brother apollo along with his soldiers will disappear after the disappearing of the crescent moon and they will be back on Olympus. They will live us gods again. Their title will be reinstated since this is their first offense to transform their selves into a human to save you, but you! You know what will happen to you after this, Artemis. You will disappear. Your son is dead. I cannot save him. He's half mortals.

I turned around and looked at the oak tree.

Tears was formed on my eyes but i wipe it immediately

No! I don't want to feel this way.

The figures on the top of the oak tree starting to disappear.

Maybe they sense the presence of selene.

Selene looked at me and smiled ..

I want you to grant me a two wishes, I will let you live in the moon.

And in the right time I will go down from the moon and deal with the goddesses for my reincarnation.

I will make them pay in this life.

And in the next life..

Close your eyes, Artemis. We will ascend in the moon in any minute.
