Chapter five

Mason smiled at Andrea. Alpha Homer is not happy seeing Andrea smiling freely. Because of his fury, Alpha Homer slapped the table and his eyes were like a dagger glaring at Andrea. Mason immediately places himself in front of Andrea to protect her.

“We will now leave Alpha Homer,” Mason’s voice was firm and strong. They didn’t wait for Alpha Homer’s reply, and they left the North pack immediately. They were riding in a royal gold carriage. Andrea was amazed because it was her first time seeing and riding a gold carriage. When she was young, she remembered riding a bronze carriage with her father when her father was still alive. There is still part of her she doesn't want to leave in the North pack, but she needs to face the reality. As the gold carriage was going to pass the border of the North pack, Andrea saw a man figure wearing a robe near the gate border. As she stares at the human figure she realizes who it is. It was her childhood friend, Franklin. She was right when the man showed his face under the hood of his robe. Andrea saw Franklin lip moves. She knows Franklin very well, and he mimics the moves of Franklin lip. Take Care. Those are the words Franklin wanted to say to her. In a blink of an eye, Franklin vanished where he was standing before.

Mason was curious why Andrea was looking on the outside of the window. A small smile formed in his lips as he looked at the future Luna of the South pack. Mason thought that their Alpha was lucky to have a beautiful mate like Andrea. After they passed the border of the North pack, Andrea cracked a smile. For the first time she felt serene after being a slave for two years.

“Mason, is Alpha Bryan a good leader? Sorry, I’m just really curious,” Andrea asked Mason. She wanted to know because she didn't want to be a slave anymore. If Andrea find out that Alpha Bryan is not a good leader even though she had small feelings for her mate, she will plan to escape because she doesn't want to be loved by a bad leader. Mason just smiled at her.

“I don’t want to talk back behind my Alpha. You can see it for yourself, Andrea,” he said. Andrea apologized, and she realized that Mason was right.

“When will we arrive at the South pack?” Andrea asked as she played with the tip of her red hair.

“From the North pack, we will arrive at the South pack after three to five days. It depends on how fast the carriage is moving,” he said. Andrea was shocked. She didn’t bring any changing clothes with her. Why didn't I bring anything with me? She thought. She lowered her head and sighed.

“I almost forgot to give this to you,” said Mason. Andrea saw Mason holding her bag. She was curious as she got her bag.

“Before the sunrise came, a maid with short blonde hair asked me to give this to you,” he said. Andrea knows that maid. It was Sally. She immediately looked inside the bag. She found her photo album, clothes and important things. Although all her things were not in the bag, she was thankful to Sally. She knew it, even though Sally is so mean to her, she can feel her kindness. There’s a note inside in her bag, so she read it.

I have already given your other things to Franklin. That is what is in the note. Andrea felt relief, but at the same time she was curious. Andrea wonders why Sally knows Franklin. She just shrugged her shoulders and put back the note inside the bag. Andrea thanked Mason for bringing her bag to her.

In traveling from another pack to the South pack, the other pack must pass five different roads to reach the South pack. On the first day of their trip, they enter the dangerous cliff road. There is no other way to go to the South pack. If the other packs wanted to go to the South pack, they must enter first the entrance road which is the cliff road. This is the reason why no other packs dare to go to the South pack if it is not important. Andrea was scared to look outside the window because when she looked outside, she felt like gravity was dragging her down the cliff. She is indeed weak, and she has fear in heights.

“Hey, don't be scared Andrea. If you fall, shift into my wolf form. You know I’m powerful, and I can save you,” Diane said.

“I don’t want to fall and even though I will shift into a wolf, it is still not useful. You know you are too strong for me. My body can’t take the form for longer. It will only drain my strength,” Andrea said. Diane sighed. Andrea was right. Having a weak body is Andrea's problem.

“Are you okay?” asked Mason. He saw that Andrea was closing her eyes and afraid to look outside.

“I’m okay. Don’t worry about me,” Andrea said while her eyes were still closed. Mason chuckled.

“You can open your eyes now,” said Mason. Andrea opened her eyes and looked outside. She saw they already passed the dangerous cliff road. Andrea felt relieved. She thought she was going to fall off the cliff. It was already afternoon and the sun started to set.

“We are here now on the forest road,” Mason said. Andrea looked at the outside, and she saw only tall trees along the way. From the hot temperature in the dangerous cliff road, the hot temperature drops. The Forest is serene and the shadows from the tree gives them a peace of mind. Andrea smiled as she inhaled the fresh air from the surroundings.

“We will stop at the end of this forest road,” Mason said. Andrea was happy and excited to go out.

“I want to run outside,” said Diane. The excitement was evident in her voice. Andrea was happy to hear how energetic her wolf is. Without doubt, she agreed.

“I will let you out,” said Andrea, which made Diane happy. When they arrived at the end of the forest road, they stopped and stepped out in the carriage. Andrea embraces herself. She felt that she was free from the cage.

“Can I go around?” Andrea asked Mason. She was like a kid asking her father to let her wander around. Mason smiled at her.

“Sure, take this whistle. If you need help just blow the whistle, and we will come for you,” said Mason. Andrea got the whistle and put her bag in her back. She immediately wandered around away from their location.

Andrea was so glad and she didn’t realize she was too far away from her companions. The place where she is now is in the deep of the forest. Among the trees in the forest she saw a unique tree. The leaves are blue and white.

“Beautiful,” she said. She went under the beautiful tree and sat. Andrea places her bag beside her, and gets her the polaroid camera in her bag. She smiled and took two pictures of herself. It is her first picture after two years. She promised to herself back then that she will took the picture herself when she will be freed from slavery of her pack. Andrea keeps the picture in her album before calling her wolf.

“Diane? Are you ready?” Andrea asked her wolf. Diane was happy because it is the time she will run in the woods.

“I’m ready!” Diane shouted in excitement. Andrea just chuckled and took a big blanket that she will cover herself later. Andrea shifted to her wolf form. Her wolf form is a big wolf and has white and gray fur. Andrea stretched her legs.

“It's so good to be outside,” Diane said. The wolf starts to run in the woods and rolls in the bed of blue and white leaves. The wolf thought of more ways to savor the time it had. She ran as fast as she could. It was Andrea's turn to control the wolf. She was amazed how fast her wolf ran. She felt the energy running her veins.

“This is awesome! Woohoo!” said Andrea as she ran around in the unique tree. After running around in the woods she felt tired. Andrea sat under the tree beside her bag. She dragged the blanket and put it in her body. She felt tired and she shifted back to her human form. Andrea’s wolf form only lasted for five minutes.

Even though Andrea was tired from the run, she forces herself to move and wear clothes. After wearing the clothes, she rested for five minutes to regain half of her strength.

“Thank you Andrea. I’m having so much fun today,” Diane said gratefully.

“No worries, I enjoyed running around the woods,” said Andrea. After Andrea rested under the unique tree, she decided to go back where her companions were. It was getting dark too, and the forest became more quiet.

On the other side, Mason was worried because until now, Andrea is still not with them. He thought that Andrea may be lost in the woods.

“Chill Mason, she will be here,” said Christopher Lee.

“How can I chillax if the future Luna of our pack is still not here?” asked Mason to Christoper.

“You really care for the pack, Mason. Look over there,” said James Curtis while pointing his hand in the woods. Mason looked at the direction where James was pointing. They saw Andrea walking towards their direction. The three men breathe in unison and smile.

Andrea saw Mason and the two men staring at her. When she was already near them, she gave them a genuine smile.

“Are we going to move forward now?” Andrea asked.

“Yes, if we are done eating our dinner,” Mason said. Andrea nodded, She saw the two men and she smiled at them. The two men introduce themselves, and Andrea was happy to know them. After they had their dinner they started to move the carriage. The next road they will follow is the grass road. In daylight, they only see a field of grass and nothing more. Andrea was full and she was still tired from running. Only Andrea is inside in the carriage while Christopher was in the back of the carriage and Mason and James were in the rear of the carriage.

It was almost dark in the surroundings and only the lights from the bulb in the carriage lighted the road that they were following. Andrea felt sleepy and she fell asleep after she closed her eyes.

“Tomorrow in the morning, we will arrive in the pack if we continue to move the carriage,” Mason said.

“Then we will not stop moving the carriage,” James said.

The remaining two roads are the sand road and stone road. It will take them twelve hours to see the South pack. Andrea was dreaming about her father smiling at her while holding the hand of a woman. She can’t see the woman’s face and all she can see is the woman's back. Andrea felt emotional as she looked at them.

“I miss you dad,” Andrea said. She runs towards them, but the more she goes near them, the more she can’t reach them. It is like something is pulling them away from her sight. Her entire body became heavy, and she just realized her feet were glued in the ground. She can’t move her feet.

The scenario of her dream changed. She saw her body stabbed in the gothic spire of a castle. She realized she was in the top while her body got stabbed. Andrea’s hands were shaking. She gasped as she woke up from the nightmare. With all her life, this is the worst nightmare she ever had.

When  she looked outside in the window, it was already morning. She just tried to forget the bad dream she had. Think positive, Andrea. She thought to herself. The carriage suddenly stopped. Mason, Christoper and James greeted her.

“Good morning too,” she greeted them back.

“We are almost there,” Mason said.

Andrea felt excited and nervous. She wonders if the citizens of the South pack will accept her.
