The Vengeful Sacrificial Mate

Third-Person POV

"She is really pathetic," a young woman muttered to her friends, and they laughed as they looked at the young woman wearing dirty clothes.

"You say so," said the young woman who mucked the young woman who wore dirty clothes.

"Hey Andrea! Come with us tonight," a group of young men called the young woman who wore dirty clothes as they approached her. The young woman named Andrea starts to walk faster, and it turns into running.

"Hey bitch! Come back here!" A group of young men called her, but she never dared to look back at them. Andrea was nervous as she ran towards the lake where she used to kill time, and her hideout. She sat under the big tree as her tears started to fall again. Andrea thought that she was used to her pack's cold and bad treatment of her but she is wrong. I am such a coward. She thought to herself. She wiped her tears and stood up.

"I need to go home now. Alpha Homer will get angry at me if I didn't cook their dinner earlier," Andrea said to herself. She forced herself to smile even though she felt scared of the thought of going home. Crossing the river is her only way to avoid the werewolves in her pack. It is also the longest and dangerous way to cross because there are many snares planted. This is her routine if she needs to go home, and this is the reason why her clothes became dirty and damaged. Andrea couldn't afford beautiful dresses for herself, so she had no choice, but to wear the damaged clothes and repair it again if there was a cut.

On her way home, she didn't notice a snare in the ground, and she almost got stabbed by a sharp bamboo coming from the ground. Oh my goodness, I almost died. She thought. She held her chest, and almost heard her heart pounding sounds. Every time she walked this way, she always felt nervous because of this kind of incident. Andrea breathed in relief after she passed the dangerous way. It took her one hour to cross the way. Finally, I'm almost there. Andrea thought, and a smile formed in her lip.

The sun almost set, so Andrea ran as fast as she could. I must cook their dinner before they come home. She thought. After running, she stopped, and immediately went to her room beside the paddock where the stocks and horses are kept.

"Andrea! Andrea!" Called the old woman as she knocked on the door of Andrea's room non-stop.

"Coming!" Andrea responded. After she finished changing her clothes, the door suddenly opened. Andrea frowned at the old woman.

"Look what you did to my door, Mrs. Marie Santos. You broke it," Andrea said, and let out a big sigh. Mrs. Marie slapped Andrea on the shoulder with the slippers she was wearing. Andrea was hurt, and apologized to Mrs. Marie.

"I'm sorry," Andrea apologized to Mrs. Marie.

"Next time, don't blame me for why your door is broken. You know your door is broken," said Mrs. Marie to her.

"Yes," Andrea said politely. She clenched her fist to stop herself from talking back to Mrs. Marie. It's really your fault why my door broke. You knock on my door every day with your big hand. Why would you treat me like this? We're both helpers here, aren't we? You should be good to me. She thought. A pain emotion showed in her face, but that didn't make Mrs. Marie feels sorry for her.

"You! Take a pig to the pigpen and slaughter it. Come on! Faster! We need to finish the preparation for dinner before Alpha and his family arrive," Mrs. Marie shouted in front of her. Andrea immediately went to the pigpen and tried to catch a pig. Many werewolves on guard of the mansion of the Alpha were watching her catching a pig. When Andrea tried to catch the pig she suddenly stumbled into the mud. Andrea almost burst into tears as her knees hit the sharp rock. When it comes to these kinds of jobs Andrea is not capable because she is physically weak. But even though her body was weak, she forced herself to follow everyone's orders, so they would not hurt her. Wherever you are now mom, I hope you will strengthen me. Watch and guide me always. Andrea thought. Andrea was almost laughed at by those who saw her stumble in the mud. They laughed even more when they saw Andrea's face and clothes covered in mud.

"Andrea! Where's the pig?" Mrs. Marie's nose almost smoked because she had lost her patience in waiting, and Andrea had not yet caught the pig to be slaughtered. Andrea swallowed hard and tried to catch the pig again even though her knees were sore and bleeding. When Andrea caught the pig she tied its legs. She brought the pig to the tap and wept holding the large butcher knife.

"Sorry pig. I have to do this to you. I promise I will make you a delicious dish and your flesh will not be wasted. Please forgive me," Andrea cried as she uttered those words to it. She prayed first for the blessings to come before slaughtering the pig.

After Andrea slaughtered the pig, she immediately buried the pig's blood, cleaned the pork meat, and delivered it to the kitchen. She saw Mrs. Marie with an angry face. Andrea immediately placed the pork meat in the other L-shape kitchen.

"Andrea! Why are you late? We only have an hour left to prepare the food," Mrs. Andrea said to her. Andrea watched her hand and face before she faced Mrs. Marie.

"I'm sorry. I won't be late next time," Andrea apologized to Mrs. Marie so that she wouldn't quarrel with her again.

"I need action Andrea, not words," said Mrs. Marie. Andrea nodded, and put on her apron, and hairnet, so she could start cooking.

After Andrea cooks, Alpha Homer also arrives with old Alpha Gregor Cuenca from East pack. They were still at the gate, so the helpers were very careful in the final preparation of the meals on the long table. Alpha Homer Garcia's wife, Luna Lorraine Garcia, arrived with their real child, Lorry Garcia. Andrea saw Lorry say goodbye to her father and go in her direction. Andrea was nervous because her step-sister, Lorry, suddenly stopped in front of her.

"What do you need, Lorry?" a smiling Andrea asked Lorry who was now glaring at her.

"Andrea, you will eat in your room. You can't join us to eat with Alpha Gregor Cuenca. I'll take care of excuses why you can't come with us," Lorry said.

"Why can't I join you and meet Alpha Gregor? Alpha Gregor's best friend is my dad. And another thing is I'm the only child of the former Alpha in this pack. I should be the one facing Gregor Cuenca because I will be the next ruler after I turn nineteen," Andrea said defiantly to Lorry, but Lorry just pulled her hair and pulled her out of their mansion.

"I don't care! It doesn't mean you're the daughter of the former Alpha in this pack you can talk back to me. Remember, my father is the current Alpha in the North pack, and I'm his daughter, so you should respect me," she pushed Andrea, so Andrea was sprawled on the ground.

Lorry left Andrea on the ground while Andrea was just closing her eyes due to pain when there was a scratch and wound on her right hand. Andrea almost burst into tears. Why is this happening to me? What sin have I committed to suffer these hardships? I didn't even see my mother's face, and then my father died two years ago. When will I experience being loved by a family? Back then, I'm very happy because Alpha Homer, Beta of my Dad, adopted me. Then that is the time that he became Alpha, for taking care of me because I'm still young to handle the whole pack. I thought they would love me like their own child, but they didn't. They even made me miserable and a servant. It would be okay for me if they were the only ones to treat me like that, but Alpha Homer ordered the whole pack not to approach me and be not good to me. And they even spread the fake news that I was a cursed child so my parents died. Andrea monologue.

Andrea got up and entered her room next to the paddock. She lay down on the lawn that she used to be her bed, and her stomach rumbling indicated that she was hungry.

Andrea remembers a werewolf taunting her as she descended this morning on the city. A werewolf told her that if she wanted to escape the cruelty of Alpha Homer and the whole pack on her, she would just move to another pack. Andrea thought that she could also move to another pack, but she couldn't because this is the only place where she has memories with her late father.

Andrea was suddenly stood up when suddenly there was a knock on her broken door. Are they done eating? Did Lorry complain to her mother about me talking back to her? Andrea asked herself. She was very nervous when she approached the door. When she opened the door, a maid her age was in front of her broken door. She was holding a plate of food and a glass of juice.

"Eat it," said the maid to her. Andrea smiled.

"Thank you, Sally," Andrea thanked Sally and took the food Sally had given her. Sally didn't respond to her and left immediately.

Andrea went back into her room and ate the food that Sally brought for her. Sally didn't like her and always fought with her, but Sally always gave her food when Andrea was forced to go out in the mansion even though she didn't yet have her food. Andrea cries while eating. She is still grateful because she can eat three times a day. If she can't eat, her stomach will hurt. Having a weak body is very difficult for her. She wished that she was born strong, but because she is weak, the elders told her that she is the reason why their late Luna, Sofia Lopez, gave up herself in order to save her. She took a bite of pork meat. The food I cooked is delicious. I'm such a great chef. Andrea praises her own cooking skills to cheer herself. When she took the last bite of her food, suddenly the door opened loudly which startled Andrea. Lorraine, Alpha Homer's wife, entered.

"Andrea! You witch! Why did you talk back to my daughter?" Lorraine was furious with Andrea, and pulled her hair. Unsatisfied, Lorraine slapped Andrea repeatedly. Andrea forcefully blocked her arms to her face to protect her face. A tear skipped from her eyes because of Lorraine's claw scratch on her arm.

"Please, stop it," Andrea pleaded with Lorraine. Andrea just cried.

"Stop it darling, don't kill her. We can still use her," Alpha Homer said. A grin plastered on Alpha Homer's lip, and he looked at Andrea. Lorraine stopped scratching her and left them.

"You, tomorrow night we will celebrate your birthday. I have invited all the Alphas and their sons. Make sure they see that we take care of you. Tomorrow, you will know who your mate is," Alpha Homer said seriously. But behind those serious expressions, is an evil plan running on his mind.

"Why do you have to celebrate my birthday? Last year you didn't celebrate my birthday. What are your plans?" Andrea glare at him. She feels angry and sick of their treatment of her. Andrea is not happy with what Alpha Homer said because she feels that they have an agenda why they will celebrate her birthday. Alpha Homer suddenly slaps Andrea. This is what always happens whenever she questions Alpha Homer’s words.

"Remember this Andrea, if you're not going to be the Alpha son's mate or Alpha's mate, remember that you won't be able to breathe before the sunrise on the day of your birthday," Alpha Homer threatened her, and left her inside her cramped room. Andrea just cried. She was in so much pain at the hands of Alpha Homer's family. Mom? Dad? When will I be able to see you soon? I'm tired of this hell. She whispered into the air. She falls to sleep while reminiscing her memories with her dad.

No matter how good she showed to everyone, they only think of her as a pathetic cursed child who is trying to survive. Only her will to be loved again is the only thing that makes her stay alive.
