Chapter 10: He was in rage!

It was almost midnight.

The party had been over thirty minutes ago. The Brownson pack had already left. The Bailey's pack members still celebrated, but they had winded out most of it. There were only a few staying behind. They were sitting with Marcus, drinking and talking. Their laughter echoed through the quiet garden into Giselle's chamber.

Giselle sat on the couch near the windowpane.

However, Giselle was a little troubled. She clutched the phone in her hand.

Giselle had found an excuse to go back to the front room, even before the party was going on. Edsel, who was playing a devoted father, told Marcus and others that it might be because she was already worried about today's ceremony that she was a little tired then.

Lady Bailey quickly understood the reason behind it. She convinced Marcus to let Giselle go to the chamber first. Marcus felt strange, but he followed suit. He would ask her about all of these distant things later.

At that time, she was patiently waiting for her mother's call. Edsel said that since Giselle couldn't see Mrs.Stephern right away. So, he would have the two of them talking on the phone first. Until Giselle returned to the city, he would have someone come to pick Giselle up to see her mom.

Suddenly, the ringing of the phone rang Giselle back to reality.

She rushed to look at her phone.

"It's mom," Giselle exclaims, "Mom!"

"Gigi...", on the other end of the line, Mrs. Stephern's weak voice reached out.

As soon as Giselle heard her mom's voice, Giselle was heartbroken. She bit her lip, doing her best not to cry.

"Mom, how are you? Did they do anything to you?"

"No. I...", Mrs. Stephern hesitated, not knowing whether to speak or not. Finally, she decided to speak up, "I heard about you from Edsel. He said you agreed to be a mate with Marcus Bailey. I... I'm sorry. I can't protect you."

Mrs. Stephern cried, her sobbings from the other end of the line sounded like a knife piercing into Giselle's heart.

Tears started to build up in the corner of her eyes. Giselle, however, held on to her crying, and reassured Mrs.Stephern, "Don't worry. I'm all right. As long as you're at peace, Giselle will be fine."

"Giselle?"

Unexpectedly, Marcus's voice rang out, causing Giselle to jerk.

She quickly turned her head toward the door, seeing that the person standing there was Marcus. His expression was no different from hers, terrifying. They were both terrified.

"Giselle? Honey, Giselle? Is there anything wrong?", asked Mrs. Stephern. Her mother's instinct told her something was wrong.

Giselle stammered, "M... Mom, I'll call you later."

Without waiting for her mom to answer, she quickly hung up.

Giselle clutched her phone in her hand, trembling and standing up from the sofa. Her eyes were on Marcus.

Marcus seemed lost. He had heard the word "Giselle" twice this evening. And then, that "Giselle" was standing there, in front of him.

The thick veil covered her face had been taken down to reveal another face that Marcus had come to know just a few days ago: Giselle.

Giselle stood in the moonlight by the window. Her hair was no longer in the same elaborate braid style as before but had been let loose.

The silver moonlight from the sky shone through the window, painting her enchanted physique hidden under the silk wedding dress she was wearing. Giselle's reddish-brown hair loosened off her elaborate braided hairstyle. Her hair fell on her shoulders, hugging Giselle's slender high neck.

Giselle's hair and skin, as if made of crystal, iridescent in the late-night moonlight, showed an unusual charm that she did not know about herself. Looking back, Giselle was no different from a porcelain doll. She looked attractive and unbelievably beautiful.

However, no matter how beautiful she was, Marcus couldn't seem to get his mind straight right then.

He stood at the door, looking at the woman in his room, wearing the wedding dress he had prepared for Tina, who was supposed to be mated with him tonight.

Why had Tina turned into Giselle, the unruly Omega?

"What... What are you doing here?", Marcus muttered.

He then looked around the whole room, trying to find his lover's silhouette but to no avail. There was no sign of Tina Brown in the room except Giselle. His eyes accidentally touched the veil squeezed into the seat. Suddenly, Marcus recalled all the odd things that happened before and during the wedding. Suddenly, there was a strange thought appeared in his head.

"Marcus, I..."

Giselle was about to say something when Marcus shouted out loud, "Where is Tina?"

Giselle flinched at his shouting. She stayed put in her position, slightly shaking. In front of her, Marcus almost turned into someone else.

His eyes were fierce red. His pupils narrowed, focusing on the prey right in front of his eyes. At this point, his prey was no other than Giselle.

The pressure in the air was getting heavier and heavier. In a flash, Giselle could also hear a threatening growl come out of Marcus's throat. He was already showing his fangs at her.

"I only ask you once. Omega, where is my mate?"

Marcus growled, emphasizing every word. His voice had completely changed then. It was no longer the normal tone voice of a human being, but it had turned into a ferocious, opaque growl. Concurrently, in Giselle's head, her inner wolf was howling.

Marcus was about to shift right there and then. If she did not give him the answer he wanted, he would tear her into parts!

"Where is my Tina?"

Marcus growled. He was in rage!

Giselle was shaking vigorously. Her mind went blank.

Her inner wolf had already subdued to Marcus.

There was a terrifying fear that crept down Giselle's backbone. Goosebumps had risen all over her skin. She could feel terrify it in every inch of her skin. Her instinct was going wild while her inner wolf kept on telling her to keep her head down, not to stare at the Alpha's eyes or else...or else the next thing she knew, she would be a dead body on the floor.
