Six

I was unchained and Mason was called to drive me to the pack house while Alpha Keegan left for some work.

“Have you had anything to eat?” Mason asked me.

“No, nothing.” I didn’t look at him as I spoke.

“Okay. I’ll order pizza for you. Eat up then pack your belongings.” His tone was as cold as the tone of every man in the pack.

“How long will the journey be for?” I asked.

He didn’t respond to me and continued driving till we got to the pack house.

The first thing I did was to drink multiple glasses of water, each gulp felt divine as it hit my throat. When my stomach was filled with water, I left for my room. The door was still broken from Alpha Keegan kicking it down, and the room was still in the mess I caused when I tried to run. I picked my plastic bag from the side of the window up and added a few more things to it.

When pizza arrived, I had to bring it back to my room since I had no right to eat on the dining table. I thought I was going to eat the entire box of pizza but I was full sooner than I thought. After a while, I became bored and retreated to sleep on the cold floor tiles.

***

“What right does she think she has to delay us like this?” I heard someone growl, calling me out from my sleep.

“Omega!” Mrs. Bea hollered. I jerked to sit up straight, staring around in confusion till I fixed my gaze on Mrs. Bea. “You stupid thing, how can you be sleeping? It’s time to leave with the Alpha.”

“Oh. I’m sorry for sleeping.” I apologized, picked my plastic bag, and rose to my feet.

She eyed me with irritation present in her dark brown eyes. “Foolish. Let’s go.”

I followed behind her till we were outside. There were three white buses and a black SUV parked outside the pack house.

“What took you so long?” Mason hisseed. “Let’s get going.” He said and got into one of the buses.

I was about to go into the bus when I felt a large hand on my wrist. “You’re coming with me.” Alpha Keegan said. His voice and touch made a shiver run down my spine and ignited something inside of me.

“With you?”

He frowned at my question and pulled me to the SUV. “Go in.”

I opened the door and got in. He gave his final orders to Scarlett before he got in, sitting beside me. I cringed at how close I was sitting to the Alpha and shifted closer to the window.

“This is seriously the best you could bring?” he frowned at my plastic bag.

“Yes, this is all I have.”

“Start the car.” He instructed the driver.

He stared at his phone screen for the drive while my heart couldn’t stop beating fast due to his presence beside me.

***

It was night time and we still hadn’t gotten to wherever we were heading to, so we had to stop by a few houses that we were going to stay in overnight.

“Everyone should ensure you’re all at alert to prevent any form of danger. Be sensitive in your sleep.” He ordered.

“Yes, Alpha.” They replied in unison.

“Goodnight everyone.”

The men left, pairing themselves to fit into one of the three shelter houses after the one we stood in front of.

I realized that I was the only female, so there was no one to pair with. Was I going to sleep outside?

“Why are you standing there looking gormless? Come in.” Alpha Keegan frowned at me, holding the door knob.

In? I blinked at him twice, not saying a word. “I can sleep outside.”

His frown hardened and a growl escaped his throat, igniting fear in me. “You should know how much I hate disobedience.”

I didn’t dare to argue with him again and walked in after he opened the door.

I stared around at the gold and white themed interior. The room was painted in all white and only had a bed draped with white sheets, pillows, and blankets, a white arm chair opposite, a golden wardrobe, a door to where I assumed was the bathroom, a golden desk, a golden chandelier hanging from the white ceiling, a golden-frame full body mirror on the wall, two windows with golden curtains, and a small golden fridge.

Alpha Keegan walked past me, taking his wrist watch and shoes off, then dropped them carelessly.

An involuntary gasp left my throat when he took his shirt off, not minding my presence.

“What’s wrong with you? Are you choking?” he asked with a frown.

I simply shook my head and dropped my plastic bag on the armchair before going to help him arrange his wrist watch, phone, shirt, and shoes in the proper manner.

He picked his towel and shorts from the travel bag before heading to the bathroom.

His absence gave me the chance to breathe properly again. I knew I wouldn’t have the right to use his bathroom, so I hurried up to get rid of my clothes, slipping on the only nightdress I had. Rushing to the mirror, I brushed my wavy ash hair and tied it into a rough bun. Staring at myself in the mirror, I realized it had been a really long time since I had last seen my reflection. I looked even skinnier than before and my deep blue eyes looked very tired.

“Gosh. This is really how ugly I look?”

The bathroom door opened, causing me to flinch away from the mirror like I was committing a crime.

Alpha Keegan stared at me, then the mirror, before he continued walking. He was in only his shorts and was drying his dark brown hair with a towel. Something about the scars on his body, especially the large one on his back made my breath hitch again. A strange urge to run my fingers along his even-toned muscular body woke up in me. The way his strong biceps moved as he dried his face with the towel, the water dripping down him, everything was making me feel an odd sensation in my body.

What the heck was wrong with me? I shook my head to get back to my senses.

“Your gaze is bothering me.” He said and threw the towel to the bed.

“I'm sorry.” I bowed my head and scuttled to the upholstered arm chair, curling up on it.

“What do you think you’re doing?” His voice made me jerk to my feet in panic.

“I’m sorry. Do you need something? Is there anything I’m supposed to do?” I spoke in one breath.

“You don’t want to sleep on the bed?”

“On the bed? With you!” My forehead puckered as I shook my head. “No, Alpha. I can’t do that.” I didn’t mean to, but my voice sounded like I was disgusted by that idea.

A line formed between his brows. “Are you disobeying me?”

“No, I’d never do that.” I bowed my head, showing my neck in submission.

“How can you submit to me but still reject me? Do you really think so highly of yourself? So you think your Alpha isn’t good enough to be worth a lowly omega? That's why you rejected and embarrassed me?” his voice was laced with rage again.

“Not at all.” I shook my head, shrieking when he stormed towards me.

“Don’t move an inch.” He commanded, but my body responded otherwise. My heart was racing. Every step he took further, I moved two steps backwards, till my back hit the wall behind me.

“I said not to move, but you still didn’t listen. What are you trying to prove?”

I began to tremble again as Alpha Keegan towered over me. His figure made me feel tiny by standing so close. I wasn’t short. Being 5 foot  6 inches isn’t short, is it?

“N-nothing… Do you need anything? I’ll get it for you.” I wanted to escape his presence immediately before I passed out.

He stared down at me, a waft of dark color flashed over his amber eyes for a split second. He still moved closer to me till my body was pressed against the wall and there was no gap between us. “I think I need something.” His face was still stern, his voice huskier than normal.

“Wh-what is it, Alpha?” I lowered my head, vibrating more than ever.

“Look at me when I speak to you.” He ordered.

“But that’s disrespectful.”

He grabbed my chin with his thumb and index finger, forcefully lifting my head. “Are you trying to be disobedient?”

“No. I can never disobey you,” I bit my lower lip before adding, “Alpha.”

“Now that’s one good girl.”

I gasped when I felt his hand on my waist. I would normally flinch away from a man’s touch, but his hand on me made my body tingle. He trailed his hands downwards from my face till it settled on my thigh, slowing lifting the hem of my nightgown while his fingers brushed against my thigh

I shut my eyes, keeping my head down again.

“What’s wrong? Is your body responding against your rejection?”

“No Alpha. I’m just an omega, so I don’t have any right over my body.”

He pulled away from me, his face contorting with fury. “So you'd let me touch you without your permission?”

“I’m just a mere Omega and you’re the Alpha. I don’t have the power to disobey you.”

“So weak and stupid.” He spat. “I’m certain every other man in the pack would have had their way with you. How can a member of my pack be this foolish and powerless? Leave now.”

“I—”

“Leave now!” he asserted. His gall-laced tone warned me that if I argued with him, I could be dead in the next few minutes.

“Yes, Alpha.” I bowed my head and left for the bathroom, the only place I could be away from him.

Something about the fact that he concluded that other men in the pack would’ve had their way with me made me feel uncomfortable. I’d normally not care, but something in me wanted Alpha Keegan to know I was pure.

Seriously… What's wrong with me?
