Trailing

Audrey was a bit uneasy as she did not smell her mate anymore. She still had not seen the fellow and she had no idea whom among the many men he was. She was still busy, having to order the maids around as the hostess, see that everything was in place.. it was almost lunchtime and the sun was high up in the sky. She took the stairs once again and was going to head straight to her room when the scent of her mate came to her again, this time stronger and more compelling. By the time she reached the door of her father's study, it was unmistakable that the scent was coming from there.. she felt the compelling force push the door open and she stepped in. There was seated right across her father the Alpha of the blood Moon pack. Ron!

She gulped in some air and greeted her father. She was obviously disoriented.

"Father, good day.." she said. She had no good excuse to give for coming into the study unannounced and so she busied her brain by cooking up a suitable excuse.

"I had only come to announce that lunch will be served in the next twenty minutes, gentlemen_"

She said as she managed a smile.

True, lunch was to be served in the next twenty minutes but that had not been the message she had come to deliver. She had not come to deliver any message at all. Her father nodded and returned the smile.

Katara was boiling inside as she walked out of the study.

The Alpha of the blood moon pack was her mate!

It had taken her a great deal of self control to not turn to him and ask him why he was so comfortable not talking to her or even looking at her. He was totally ignoring her and she had not felt that humiliated. She was not sure what she was going to do. Was she going to confront him when she had the chance. The moment she had stepped into the study and set her eyes on him, she had swore under her breath. How was she going to resist such a man?

Her eyes had first met his green eyes and he had looked away nonchalantly.

Ron Allen, Alpha of the blood moon pack was nothing less than 6.4 feet tall and with dark full hair that Audrey had felt a sudden lustful desire to have in her hands while his lips locked with hers in a passionate kiss. She berated herself for having such thoughts and tried to focus on her anger over being totally ignored. She still could not get his image off her mind as she stormed down the hallway to go and see that the tables were being set for lunch which she had just announced without necessarily having to. She still felt foolish for letting her instincts lead her to the study the way she had only to be outrightly ignored.

Ron Allen had to be possessing the devil's eyes. She could not explain how else it was that she had looked at those eyes for one split moment and the image was engraved permanently in her mind. She was trying without any much success to keep him off her mind.  He had been sitting comfortably next to her father with glasses of wine before them. He was so much at ease with his legs stretched out in front of him. His Beta, whom Audrey recognized as Robert was also there. She had heard very little about the alpha of the blood moon pack prior to their arrival but not once had it been mentioned that he was the heavily built and incredibly sexy young man she had just seen with her father and nothing had braced her for the realization that he was her mate. She had a myriad of thoughts running through her mind and she could not help herself.

Audrey was very close to the dinning when she hit someone. She instantly apologized as she bent to pick up the handkerchief that had fallen from the person. She reached it the same time as the young woman. There was a striking resemblance between her and the Alpha the young lady. Her green sparkling eyes and her dark curly hair that shone beautifully all made her look like the dashing man she had seen. Her mate. The Alpha of the blood moon pack.

"I am sorry, I did not mean to hit you,"

She apologized but the lady was smiling at her.

"Sorry too. I was equally not watching  and that was why I hit you,"

She said as she held the handkerchief.

" My name is Carla," she introduced with the smile still on her face.

" Oh, Carla. I am Audrey and i am the_"

"Oh, I am aware," she said, cutting Audrey off " I know who you are and I am from the blood moon pack." She said still wearing the smile on her face.

"Okay."

"Erm, I was going to go help the maids set the table and i hope I am not disrupting you from your own endeavor?" She asked, nervous. The lady was tall enough for a woman, Audrey knew she wouldn't be less than 4'5 feet tall and she looked a bit younger.

"No, not at all. I was going to talk to you anyways.. I really like you Audrey. Maybe we could get to know each other better _?" Carla asked, her eyebrows quirked and her lips still smiling. Audrey was beginning to wonder if she always smiled and never let her perfect smiling countenance out of place. She did not ask.. she nodded and shook hands with Carla before walking away. Carla stood in the hall a bit before sauntering away to go and see the other men she had come with. She was afterall a part of the company.

*****

Ron was shaken the moment he had first seen Audrey. He had known she was the one but he had not expected the sudden jolt of excitement when she had looked at him. He did not hold her gaze. He was not about to impress on her that he was having a hard time trying to not get up and go get her in his arms. She was beautiful. A blonde with a stunning red head that suited her creamy skin and full pink lips. He had not liked how his body had twitched in excitement upon setting eyes on her lips. Her pointed aristocratic nose stood erect to give her face the perfect grim look he thought she liked to wear..she was beautiful with her full breasts peeking out from the tops of her laced gown. She had walked away with the grace and gentle twirl of a princess and he had tried very hard to tear his eyes from her backside as she walked away. When he had first entered through the gates with his men, he had sniffed her scent but only faintly. He was surprised that his mate was only around the premises. He had not prepared to meet his mate at the burning Mountain pack and the irresistible blonde he had just seen had turned out to be his mate..his mind was vaguely on what the Alpha was saying as he sat there. They were going to aid them in fighting the rogues and sending them away permanently, he knew that much, but whatever else he said after Audrey had stepped into the study to disrupt his attention, he had heard nothing if it. His Beta, Robert had been the attentive one. Paying attention to all that the Alpha had said and occasionally replying with a yes or a no while his mind only taught about the beauty that had just left the room. He was not himself and it was  not easy for him trying to get a good grip on his thoughts. Soon, he was done with the meeting with the Alpha of the burning Mountain pack and he rose to leave with Robert following closely behind him.

"And the Alpha has said that there is going to be an all night feast, all to welcome us. You seemed to have lost interest in the discussion at some point_"

Robert pointed out. Of course he was the closest person to him and he was the one who observed him closely enough and could say certain things to him.

"Well I am sorry I was that way. I did not mean to lose focus but then, something stole my attention and I could not help it_"

He said still without paying so much attention to the conversation. He could still perceive her scent and he wondered where she could be.. with every step they took towards the dinning hall, her scent became stronger and with the growing scent, he was having a hard time paying attention to anything else. He was almost trailing the smell without trying.
