The truth! (1)

She sat down and started eating, but she lost her appetite immediately. She saw his expression because she was sure that it was not good news.

She started eating bit by bit, she dropped the spoon after.

"I'm full, now tell me whatever you want to tell me" She said.

Bryan shook his head, "No finish everything, if you don't finish everything I won't tell you" He said firmly.

Sherry sighed, "Okay can I ask some questions before I continue eating?" She asked.

Bryan thought about it for a few minutes and agreed, "Fine ask"

"Is it about the investigation? Did you find the mastermind?" She asked immediately.

Bryan sighed, "Which one do you want me to answer?" He asked.

"Both!" Sherry replied.

Bryan shook his head, "I'll only answer one question " he said firmly not leaving room for negotiation.

Sherry pursues her lips feeling exasperated, "Fine, just ask This. Did you find the mastermind?" She asked.

Bryan nodded.

Sherry gritted her teeth, "Who is it?" She asked.

"Finish your food first" He said.

Sherry knew he was serious and quickly tried to finish her food, she started eating faster.

Bryan looked at her in disapproval, "Eat slower so you won't choke" He said.

Sherry said nonchalantly, "I won't choke"

Choke!

She coughed immediately after she finished her words.

Bryan immediately handed the water to her, "I just warned you" He said.

Sherry drank the water and felt that she was alive again and replied, "It is your fault" She blamed him without feeling guilty.

Bryan raised an eyebrow, "Are you being reasonable? I just warned you now, didn't I?" He asked with an innocent face.

Sherry pouted and replied like a spoiled girl, "If you had tell me and didn't give me an option of finishing my food, I won't have rush my food"

"Okay it is my fault, so finish your food " Bryan smiled and agreed.

Sherry nodded arrogantly, "Fine I will" She replied.

She doesn't know why she is doing this but it feels nice when you have someone who loves you from the bottom of their hearts, not fake affection.

She ate slower this time even though she was feeling anxious and wanted to know who the Mastermind was.

She already had a guess in her heart but she can't confirm if her guess was right or not.

She could only do whatever he says abidingly so he could tell her the answer to her questions.

She finished eating and cupped her face, she looked at him with eager eyes, "Okay I'm done eating tell me" She said.

Bryan couldn't look into her eyes, he could see how bright her eyes were but he was not sure if they would still be bright if he told her this.

He closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening it back and carrying the dishes she just finished using. He stood, "I'll go wash the dishes, prepare your mind first." He said and walked into the kitchen in a hurried step.

"You…" Sherry was speechless and felt aggrieved, he was the one who promised her that he would tell her once she finished eating but he is now going back on his words.

She pursues her lower lip feeling angry.

Beep!

A message came into her phone.

Sherry picked up her phone from the dining table and opened the message.

It was Tara.

Tara : Hey girl

Sherry : Hi

Tara : You sound dull, did something happen?

Sherry : No, don't bother about it.

Tara : Okay sure, uhm… have you seen Bryan today?

Sherry : He is at home, why?

She has never asked about Bryan before, this was the first time so she was a little surprised.

Tara: Uhm… nothing, did he tell you anything?

Sherry : Nope, he didn't. Why are you asking me strange questions? Are you two hiding something from me?

Tara : You are overthinking.

Sherry : Then why do you keep asking me strange questions? Did the both of you cheat behind my back?

Is that what Bryan wanted to tell her too?

What will she do if that is what he wants to tell her?

Her imagination was already running wild.

She would probably agree to divorce him, not because she doesn't love him or something but she can't share her man.

Her man must be hers only, she can't share with even her best friend.

Tara didn't reply after she asked this.

Instead a message came into her phone.

It was not Tara this time, it was from someone she doesn't expect.

Her sister, Nancy.

Nancy: Hi sis

Sherry was stunned when she saw this message, she suddenly had an illusion that they were still close sisters like before, like they never fought but it was just an illusion. It is not real.

Sherry : Hi

Nancy : Are you busy?

Sherry : No

Nancy : Where are you?

Sherry : I'm at home, I just finished eating. Do you have something to ask me?

Nancy : Why? I can't ask about your wellbeing?

Sherry : Huh? I never said that, did I? It is just weird about you asking about my wellbeing when you don't care about me anymore. Besides, do you remember the last time you asked about my wellbeing?

Nancy : Oh. Anyway it was because I called you the day before yesterday but your number was switched off throughout, so I was worried.

Sherry : Okay I'm fine thank you for your concern.

Nancy: Nothing happened to you right?

Sherry : nothing happened to me, I am perfectly fine.

Nancy : Okay that is good, bye

Sherry was puzzled about this but decided not to think too much about it. Maybe it was because she was really worried about her.

Bryan walked out of the kitchen and walked into the living room, he sat down next to her.

"So are you ready?" He asked.

Sherry heart skipped a beat

Her heart started racing faster.

Is it what she was thinking?

Did he really cheated on her?

With Tara?

She felt her heart ache at the thought of this.

She took a deep breath and looked at him, "Yes I'm ready" She replied.
