Annoying Gesture

"Did you grasp the lesson?"

When Howard asked the question, all of the kids nodded. He explained the lesson to the children for more than thirty minutes. It was even more enjoyable than presenting business projects and proposals when he was still employed. He seemed to enjoy what he was doing.

"I hope you'll be our teacher forever."

When the boy in the background said something, his ears clapped. He smiled because he had never heard a compliment like this before when presenting in front of big bosses in various companies. He's finally demonstrated that a compliment from a child is more genuine. When they praise someone, they are not lying, and they are more grateful.

"Sure," he replied.

He saw Zannie frowning so he approached her.

"What can you say about my teaching skills?" he whispered. Zannie just averted her eyes and left again. Howard suddenly fell silent. At this time, why is Zannie acting like that?

"My advice is, you have to be good at speaking so that your crush Jacob will notice you. Okay?"

He didn't get an answer from Zannie, instead he received both slaps on his handsome face with sound effects so the children turned to them.

“What happened?” One of the students starts to wonder.

Howard and Zannie were looked at innocently by the children. They saw how Zannie slapped Howie and how much pain he was in.

"You're violent, huh?" he said as Zannie slapped him on both cheeks. He couldn't figure out why the girl reacted that way; his joke had no effect because he had only teased her in front of Jacob. Can he hold himself accountable? Zannie liked Jacob because of her actions when she was talking to that guy, he guessed.

"Nothing, she just killed the mosquito that landed on my cheek," he said, smiling as the boy replied.

***

Zannie's day has been completely ruined. What she doesn't understand is why Howie is in the evacuation center as well. He didn't tell her, and from what she could tell, he was supposed to be resting in the barracks.

She walked to the barracks where she was staying. She left Howard at the center, where he was busy distributing relief supplies. Surprisingly, no one ordered Howard, so why is he playing the hero this time? Maybe Zannie had the wrong impression of Howard, and maybe Howard has a good heart as well.

'You're still annoying and disrespectful! How could you tease me like that in front of the children!'

To this day, she still can't get Howard's face out of his mind, the look she hates but on the other hand, she can't help but be impressed by him.

She didn't care if the road she was on was dark. She just kept walking until her wrist was grabbed. Speaking of Howard, he's back, and it appears that he intends to annoy her once more.

"Let me go!" commanded Zannie's sigh.

"I don't know how to get back; I have no choice but to come with you," Howard said hesitantly to the girl. He had previously hung onto the service van with his barracks companions to get to the evacuation center.

"Why don't you just keep applying like you did before?" Zannie asked, relieved. She knows she is persistent when dealing with other people, but her mood shifts when it comes to Howard.

'How do you describe this anomaly?’ She breathed heavily, but no words came out of her mouth.'

"You're really stupid!"

She returned her gaze to Howard. She walked ahead of it. She will stay ahead of the young man as long as it is important, and she will not speak to him. Her shoelace had been removed, but she didn't care; she just walked. She sped up her walk until she stepped on a shoelace, causing her to stumble and sink into the rocky cement of the road.

"What happened?" Howie asked sarcastically. Knowing she had stumbled, he was able to ask her instead of just teasing her.

She looked up at Howard, who was stifling a laugh. He didn't even assist her in standing.

"It hurts," Zannie said, scratching her brow. She had a small wound from colliding with a small rock in their path. She was startled to discover that one of her toes was bleeding.

"So, who among us is truly stupid?"

Howard's remark caused her cheek to flush once more. She shook herself and attempted to stand, but she was unable to move her left ankle due to tripping.

But she didn't care. She pretended to be fine despite the fact that she was in pain and in tears.

On the walk, Howard noticed Zannie's heels. It persisted despite the fact that it clearly required assistance.

He followed Zannie, trembling. "Are you all right?"

Her only response to him was a sigh.

'How rude, I asked nicely and was scolded.'

Zannie continued walking. The faster she walks, however, the more her foot hurts. In her mind, she was repeatedly devastated. Not Howard, but Jacob should be the only one with her.

"Zannie—"

"What? I'm just fine!" she exclaimed to the young man. She turned her back on Howard and continued walking, but the pain seemed to be getting worse, so she came to a halt and registered the man's expression of severe pain on her face.

"Don't touch me!" she yelled at Howard as he approached and supported her. She raised her eyes to the sky. It was dark, and walking was dangerous because there could be dangers lurking around.

"Look, I'm trying to help you, not bother you," Howard growled back at Zannie.

Zannie, on the other hand, was taken aback when Howard lifted her like a sack of rice.

She screamed in surprise. "Take me down! Take me down!"

Howard appeared deaf to the girl's screams. "I'll take you down only when you're calm."

"All right, take me down," Zannie said calmly, and Howard finally put her down.

"All right, I'm sorry," she muttered. She no longer has a positive attitude and needs to relax.

"Keep this in mind, Zannie. I'm not going to ruin my good reputation with someone like you. Do you think you're beautiful? Do you think you can do everything? I pity you."

Howards' remarks rendered her immobile. Those words jolted her back to the present.
