CLARISSA

Relief crashed into me, hard. My warrior was here, alive, walking? But how did he find me? And more importantly, he wasn't supposed to be moving about.

The air crackled, thick with tension, as Jaxon stepped from the shadows like a god returned from the dead.

My heart slammed against my ribs.

He was so pale, he could have easily passed for a vampire. There were dark circles under his eyes, but he didn't look like he was in pain. He looked as though he was prepared for retribution. His eyes blazed with fire. The kind I'd never seen before.

"Let her go," he said , his voice laced with terrifying menace.

Callum's lips curled into a lazy smirk. "And here I thought you were too sick to crawl out of bed."

"I'll crawl through hell to get to her," Jaxon snapped.

With a snarl, he lunged.

The room exploded into chaos.

Shadows leapt from the floor, striking like vipers. Jaxon rolled beneath them and struck back with a slice of his claws that left deep marks on Callum's face.

CLARISSA "Jaxon," I whimpered, fisting the sheets, tears pricking the corners of my eyes."Come for me," he snarled, sucking my clit between his lips and flicking his tongue with ruthless skill. "Now."I shattered. Again. My cry tore through the air as pleasure ripped through me, harder this time, more intense. My thighs tried to close around his head, but he held me down and kept sucking, licking me through every wave until I was sobbing his name.Only then did he lift his head, his lips glistening. And his eyes? They were wild, dark and unhinged. He pressed a kiss just above my mound, his voice a reverent whisper."I'll never get enough of this."Then he looked up at me with a wicked smirk. "But I'm still hard, baby. And I'm not done claiming what's mine."I barely had time to catch my breath before Jaxon flipped me onto my side and then guided me gently onto my hands and knees. His touch was careful with my belly. But everything else about him? Unhinged and possessive."Let m

Warning: Extra Spice AheadCLARISSA "I need to feel something that isn't pain. I need you. Not the chaos. Not the war. Just... us," I whispered, searching his eyes. The past few days had been nothing but hectic, and I'd come so close to losing him too many times.Emotions flickered across his face. I saw his love, his hunger and his restraint. His fingers curled around my waist, then slid to my back, pulling me in gently, careful not to press too hard against my belly. Still, I felt the heat of him and the tremble in his breath."I've missed you," he whispered, brushing a kiss across my temple. "Every part of you."He leaned down and kissed me like I was sacred. His lips were warm and slow against mine, coaxing rather than claiming. And gods, I melted. My fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, and when he deepened the kiss, I let him. I opened to him, letting him taste my need, my ache, and my love.He guided me backwards towards the bed, one hand splayed protectively

CLARISSA I bloody well knew that the truce meeting was a sham. Still, I sneaked out of the house without telling Dorian or anyone else, even after he'd made me promise that I wouldn't go alone. The air inside reeked of old magic and dried blood. And sitting at the polished stone table were the remaining board members.Seven.Only seven now. Because I'd torn the other two to pieces with my bare hands. They didn't stand or smile to welcome me. They just watched me like I was already a threat.Good.Let them. The air pulsed with tension as I stepped into the council chamber. Every crack in the ancient marble walls hummed with runes and curses meant to subdue me. It didn’t matter. My blood didn't care for their rules. I wasn't here to negotiate."I'm here," I announced in a steely voice. "You said you would release Nina if I showed up."They exchanged glances. Cowards, all of them. Cloaked in ceremonial robes, still trying to act like kings when they were nothing more than ugly vul

JAXON I jolted awake with a start, my chest heaving. "That must be one hell of a nightmare you were trapped in," Dorian said as he dabbed my forehead with a towel. I groaned, bringing a trembling hand to my aching ribs."You look like you've been dragged through hell," my beta continued, and I sighed."Figures. I feel like it too.""What happened with the purge? Before I passed out again, I heard you say something about that," I said, and his expression turned grim."They have Nina. The triplets, Gwen and Stefan, managed to escape, but she wasn't so lucky. Clarissa is pissed.""Petty bastards. I just can't figure out what they want," I rasped."Well, Callum has influenced the academy board to side with him. In fact, he's trying to spread his influence to other places. He wants Clarissa's power. I believe he wants to be able to control the power of the void without feeling like a slave to it. He also wants to become the next alpha king."My eyes widened. "What?""I know it sounds

CLARISSA The bastard lived in a house with glass windows and polished floors, as if sin had never touched his doorstep. But I knew better. Monsters didn't always crawl out of shadows. Sometimes they poured you tea and smiled with clean fingernails.I didn't have to knock. The door creaked open, and Director Edward stepped out of it. He froze the instant he saw me, shuffling backwards until I'd stepped into the apartment with him."W-what are you doing?" He stuttered, and my claws elongated. "Be careful, you're pregnant..."My expression darkened."Then, you should know better than to upset a pregnant woman," I growl, power pulsing inside of me."Clarissa...wait, wait—listen to me—"I was already moving. My hand shot out, my fingers glowing faintly with silver as I pinned him against the wall by the throat. "You were supposed to protect us. The Academy. Me."His pulse thundered beneath my palm, but I didn't care."I was following orders," he gasped."Whose?"He flinched, his mou

CLARISSA It felt like déjà vu. Like I was reliving the moment when I found my father in his study with a dagger buried in his body. I had been unable to do anything back then. And now, that same sickening helplessness was overwhelming me.Jaxon stirred awake, halfway through my attempts to keep him alive. I stroked his hair, pressing a kiss to his burning forehead.“Don’t…cry…” he wheezed, his voice breaking off into a heartbreaking whimper.“I’m not,” I lied even as the hot tears rolled down my cheeks.“It…hurts…” he croaked, and I shattered. Jaxon was definitely not the type of person to admit his pain. But as he lay there in my arms, he suddenly looked like a scared little boy.“You’ll be fine. I’ll fix you.” I croaked, and he coughed up more blood, his eyes slipping closed once more.“Jaxon, please,” I sobbed, holding on to him."I found the wolfsbane neutralizer and the stabilizer serum. But it won't be enough." Dante said as he dropped to his knees beside me, yanking

CLARISSA "Is he dead? He looks dead," Stefan said as he eyed Jaxon's immobile form. He obviously didn't want to sound like he cared, but I could see the concern written all over his face. When I'd heard the knock on the door, I'd been afraid, thinking that people from the academy had arrived to apprehend us. But thankfully, it was just Stefan.I watched as Dante carefully lifted Jaxon's shirt to expose his midsection. Anger heated my insides at the sight of the gruesome mess on his body. Zoe whimpered, and Stefan let out a heavy sigh."He's got to be in an insane amount of pain," Stefan commented as Dante wrapped a bandage around Jaxon's torso before securing it with tape.My mate let out a groan, his eyes fluttering open. I smiled at him through my tears, stroking his hair to comfort him."Stefan, tell me you didn't come here just to watch us," Dante suddenly said, and Stefan nervously shifted his weight, rubbing the back of his neck."I just needed to make sure that Clariss

JAXON I was freezing. Not the usual chills from a fever. But the kind that felt as though I'd slept in the snow naked throughout the night. I must've passed out at one point because when I opened my eyes, I was lying on a table, silver chains wrapped around my middle. I cried out in pain as my flesh sizzled, the smell of burnt flesh flooding my senses. My arms were spread wide apart, and so were my legs. My wrists and ankles were bound as well, with the same bloody chains.I was in so much agony, I thought I would die. Above me on the ceiling was a glistening silver mirror where several golden runes glowed. The pain ebbed, and I squeezed my eyes shut, a scream ripping out of my throat. It felt as though my organs were being crushed and ruptured.I coughed hard, a warm liquid pouring down the sides of my mouth."Fucking kill me already," I croaked, squeezing my eyes shut."Not yet, we can't," a familiar voice said, and I turned my head to the side, my teeth chattering. It was t
