LOGINSilver’s POV
“Are you kidding me?” Jericho erupted when I explained the situation to him. “So we are like his foot soldiers now? At his beck and call?” “You need to relax,” I remarked as I kept on reading through the files on my desk. I was trying to read through our current budget and the deeper I researched, the more scared I was of our current situation. “We don't do politics, your father learnt that the hard way when he got into business with the Argyles,” “What would you have me do?” I asked, completely distraught. “Whatever Dad did with his father is still affecting us and we can't pay such a sum. We do this deal with him and we are in the clear,” “Or we do something legit, and not dive into politics,” He handed the daily magazine to me. The headlines were about the new refinery that has been set up at the heart of the pack. “We align with this, we share our prospects with them and in return get profit alongside. It's not enough, but it will cover the monthly expense,” I took a hard long look at the name, TRIVIA. It was so familiar, almost like I had talked about it before. “The plan is perfect but it's short term. How do we resolve our long term situation?” “Step by step,” Jericho responded with a firm look. “I will set up a meeting for you by tomorrow. Get to meet the guy, socialize and maybe a solution might come out of it,” “Hey,” I halted him before he could leave. “Any lead on the mistletoe?” “I followed up with companies that used them but their records are sealed,” He answered. “So right now, I'm trying surveillance to identify what the content we were transporting was,” “Raid knows and all of this is his plot to get me to work for him against the elders,” “Not just the Elders because with what you said, Grand Alpha Khang is also in the mix here,” Jericho pointed out with a dreadful gaze. “We might be the top family here but not to Khang. Greater families had stood against him and lost. It is futile to go against him,” “Then what? All I'm hearing from you is how fucked we are and not how we can escape our predicament,” my chest got heavier when the realization slowly sunk in, the realization that my only way out might be to get into the dirty business fully. “Let's just have a meeting with the Trivia group and then formulate our strategy around it,” he held my hand to calm me down. ************* “The car is ready?” Lena knocked on my door. I was pessimistic about the Trivia's meeting but I had to evaluate all my choices. I grabbed my purse and headed out. “Lena, tell Jericho that I …” I lost my voice the second I pulled the door open. His alluring gaze fell on me with a hysteric smile. “Did I catch you at the wrong time, partner?” Raid asked, his shoulder against the threshold causing a huge barricade by the door. “What are you doing here?” I shot back with a calm look. I didn't want my expression to give away my plans. “I just came to check on you and to give you this,” He handed a letter to me as he stepped into my room. The crest at the front revealed it was from the Grand Capital, from Khang perhaps. He stepped closer and whispered carefully; “That's him threatening to wipe the entire park if we don't begin to come up with results. This isn't what money or my power can fix, we need to strategize and not go behind each other backs,” “I'm not going behind your back,” I voiced, but the smile he had only grew larger. “If you really want transparency in our partnership, you should start by letting me do this of my free will. Not pulling me in through deceit,” “Deceit?” He chuckled lightly. “Baby doll, I saved you. You under my wings is what is preventing other people from snooping around you. Your father left quite an impression in the underground business world,” “And that was my father!” I declared firmly. “Not me! He made his mistakes, he made his bed and why am I forced to lie on it?” “Beats me. You are asking someone literally suffering the exact same thing. The only sin I have committed is sharing a blood with mine,” “I can't,” I sighed deeply. “I need to go and …” “What's holding you?” Jericho walked into my room. “Alpha? What's going on here? Is everything okay?” “Everything is fine, Jericho,” Raid answered. He gently stroked my chin with his fingers, removing a hair strand. I couldn't describe what I felt as fear, more like a burning excitement. "Good luck on your meeting today,” He walked past Jericho. I waited to catch my breath, listening to him descend the stairs and out the door. “Why didn't you alert me that he was here?” I gave Jericho a furious look. “I have been by the door for the past three hours and no one came through there. His car isn't at the front, he never came through the entrance,” “Oh!” I exhaled. “If he can come in here without being seen, he already knows of the meeting.” “What's that in your hand?” Jericho pointed to the letter from Khang. “I will read it when I get back, I need my focus,” The drive to the Trivia headquarters was brief, my thoughts became louder than the cousin sitting beside me. I could still see Raid standing in front of me, his smile and words hung over my mind. “We are here,” Jericho opened the door for me. The refinery was one of the biggest I had laid my eyes upon and to have it in the heart of the Pack land will take a huge financial toll on whoever established it. “Mr and Miss Salvatore, he has been waiting for you,” a man walked up to us. We followed him into an office and the scent I got when I stepped in was almost nostalgic. The strong deja vu feeling overwhelmed me as I struggled to understand why I was unsettled. “Where is he?” Jericho inquired. “I'm here, Jericho,” a strangely familiar voice responded. My heart plummeted when I laid eyes on him. He looked so different from our time in high school, I almost couldn't recognize him. “Silver?” “Triscade,” I shook hands with him in shock. He gently grabbed my hand and gave it a kiss, sparking the memories of my time with him. His hand on my skin, his breath on my neck as we made love. My highschool romance with my first love took over me once more .Silver’s POVHe swept me off my feet, carrying me gently in his arms as I succumbed to the intense taste of his lips.My hands wrapped around him, feeling the thrills move through my spine like fluid. The longer it went on, the thirstier I became for more.He lowered me onto the bed, heaving heavily as he took off his unbuttoned shirt. Looking up at such a marvelous creation caused saliva to pool in my mouth; my eyes mapped the area from his chest to his abs, enjoying the view as my gaze drifted lower to the huge bulge visible through his trousers.“Pardon me,” he muttered as he unclipped my trousers. With one swift move, they were off my waist, revealing my wet black panties. I arched my back against the bed, ravishing in the heat pooling beneath my stomach.I shut my eyes, gulping hard when I felt him hover over me. The warmth of his tongue on my neck startled me as I gasped softly for breath. The feeling deepened, his bulge pressing against
Silver's POVWe were all seated around the grand table in the Feign mansion. The elders of the pack were present alongside Natasha.I kept looking at the door, expecting him to walk in, but he didn’t show.“So what am I doing here?” she asked, disrupting the silence. “I already told you I’m backing down from the pack.”“Your word means close to nothing,” Jane responded. “In front of you is a document relinquishing you of all assets if you try to pull an upheaval like that.”“Wrong,” Crator grunted loudly. “I know my sister, and her word actually means nothing.”She paused, smiling mischievously as she read through the document.“So we’re just going to pretend they didn’t betray us?” she said, looking at the elders.“We’re just going to accept him like he didn’t cause the death of my boy?”“Bitch, he’s my boy!” Crator snapped furiously. “Not yours, mine! The only mistake I made was letting him come work under you after
Silver's POV The kiss deepened, his tongue driving into my mouth with an intensity that took my breath away. I melted, succumbing to the kiss, his hand holding my face in place. He pulled back, leaving behind an ecstatic rush that made me flush. “I’m—” he swallowed, falling forward onto me. I was perplexed, watching as he collapsed onto my thighs. He passed out almost immediately, his heart racing in his chest. I guessed he was under the effect of the antidote in his system. I laid back on the bed and allowed him to rest his head on my chest as he slept peacefully. ***** “Silver,” his voice echoed through the darkness of my dream. “I’m coming home… I’m coming back to you.” “Raid?” I reached out to feel him—and I did. I was sure it was him. I could smell and feel him again. I wanted to be excited, but I quickly realized I was dreaming and jolted awake. I opened my eyes. It was already morning. I looked around and realized I was the only one in the room. Kaleb was gone. I chang
Silver's POVA knock on the door alerted me to their presence. One of Crator's men led them in as I walked down the stairs of Rune’s mansion.“Where is she?” Jericho's voice was the first I heard. “Where is my sister?”“Sister?” I replied as I stepped into the hallway. “That's touching, Jericho. I never thought you would ever take me as a sister.”He walked up to me with a fierce look, barely masking his worry. “You dumb… dumb child,” he said as he wrapped his arms around me.“I told you to reach out if anything happened.”“Well, I'm sorry. I didn't get the chance with a serial killer in front of me,” I replied, then turned to the others behind him.“Jane. Beta Algae.”“I would have never forgiven you if you died,” Jane uttered callously. “All my training would have gone to waste. I don't waste students.”“Shut the fuck up,” Jericho snapped sharply. Their bickering made me crack a smile. I thought I might not see that again.Algae walked quietly to my side, his eyes saying what his li
Silver's POV “Did you know he would show up?” Rune asked Crator, who descended the stairs with his axe scraping against the floor beneath it. “Was that why you sent the battalion into the pack for watchout?” He paused, grinning when he reached the last stair. “I had a feeling he wouldn’t be able to stay away. Something about the Salvatore seems to attract him.” “So you lured me,” he spoke, his ominous voice echoing through the woods. “How bold of you, Horizon.” “Don’t!” Crator growled, his eyes blazing with rage. “Don’t call me that name. No one gave me yours, so what do I call you?” “Chronicle,” he replied, turning his focus to me. “It’s good to see you again. You look grown up. Who prompted it? Hope it wasn’t me.” “Chronicle?” Kaleb asked, chuckling softly. “Every time I hear about you, it’s a different name. A man who can’t decide his name doesn’t know who he is.” “I don’t care about the name,” Rune muttered weakly. “He won’t need it in the place I’ll be sending him to.”
Raid’s POVI was worried sick, yet unable to reach her. There was no phone service, and I couldn’t escape the Gurr estate on my own.I stormed into Gaten’s study furiously, desperate to help the ones I loved.“I need to get out of here. You have no reason to hold me.”“You and I know that’s false,” he said, setting down the tea he was sipping. I had met people addicted to smoking and drinking, but never tea. Green sludge that tasted like crap.“You are here because I told young Kaleb to bring you. He made the deal because I foresaw Khang’s move.”“I know all of that,” I heaved, ready to do whatever it took as long as I was getting out.“You told me to be patient and learn, to understand Khang’s motive, but I got nothing. I have researched every single prospect, aspect of the library, and there’s nothing there.”“There’s always something, Raid,” he said calmly, still sipping his addiction.“I gave you knowledge, clarity, and a safe space, but you seek chaos. I have known Argyles to be
