Silver's POV

“Triscade? You own Trivia?” Jericho was just as stunned as I was. Triscade came from money but not that kind of wealth to build an empire over night.

“How? When did this all start?”

“During my travels, I was able to convince some people to invest in my ideas and they took a liking to it,”

His broad shoulders almost made the chair he was sitting on non existent. I didn't remember that he was that tall.

“I'm surprised you didn't recognize the name, Silver. You came up with it,”

“It was familiar,” I muttered softly, unable to control my expression as he smiled flirtatiously at me. Heat rushed to my cheeks, and I blushed uncontrollably.

“You still used it, I'm wowed,”

“You inspired this, all of these came from you and that's why the name is also from you,” he said as he poured a drink into three glasses.

“Now, we are here because we want to be part of this inspiration,” Jericho began as he received the glasses from him.

“Imagine a revolutionary partnership that would shake not just Echo but all the packs in the district,”

“Tempting…” he grunted, stroking his chin lightly. He threw a look that was almost fierce, studying my countenance.

“But why is the actual CEO of the company silent? Is there something I should know about this partnership,”

“I believe my cousin can speak for me,” I answered with a brief smile. I knew what he was trying to do, rattle me for a loophole.

“Trivia with just our company's contact will be surely profitable,”

“What do you get from this miraculous offer?” He asked, smirking as he waited for a response.

“I know you are not giving me this on a silver platter. Tell me what you want,”

“Normal business conduct, a percentage from the shares,” Jericho answered. The room was quiet for a while, the air thick with suspense as we all locked eye contact.

“I always see from a Salvatore's point. Your family has a trait for spotting the unspottable in business,” He remarked.

“So we will have a deal? Sit down and discuss terms for this alliance?” Jericho questioned curiously.

“Can I have a minute with your cousin first?” Triscade said to Jericho. He grabbed his drink and left the office. We sat across one another, staring and smiling softly.

“What is really going on Silver? Not the bullshit Jericho is trying to force down my throat. I know about your ex husband's drama and I know something is wrong as well,”

“We are crashing, my family's businesses are going under and there's no hope for it,” I spoke calmly, shifting my gaze from his intense focus.

“My father made a mistake and now I'm paying for it,”

“I'm sorry,” he sighed.

“Are you seeing someone yet?”

“What?” His question caught me off guard.

“Seeing someone?”

“Are you dating, Silver? Or you want to take a break?”

“No on both,”

“Let's grab dinner tomorrow tonight. Then we will talk better,” he offered with a warm gesture.

“Right now, I can smell Jericho's anxiousness and it's not good for business,”

“Yeah,” I chuckled softly.

“He is tense about it all and he has been handling it all by himself before I stepped in,”

“Thats okay. I will text you the address,”

“Okay,” I exhaled. I left the office feeling like a teenage girl again.

“What did he say?” Jericho asked as he walked behind me to the car.

“He said you stink of anxiety and it's not good for business,” I answered swiftly with a smile that left him stunned for a while.

*******

“I have no idea what I'm doing,” I said to him, hoping he could hear me. I wished for something as little as a flinch or a spasm but I got nothing. He appeared almost dead, his skin was slowly losing its warmth.

“Why, Father? Why embark on such a business? We don't take risks”

“I talk to him as well,” Lena finally spoke, after being mute by the door.

“Hoping that one day he will respond but nothing. We can only keep hoping,”

“Hope won't bring us out of this,” I said to her. I grabbed his wrist fiercely, with tears in my eyes. Watching him sleep through the problem he created enraged me.

“He should be fixing this, not hiding like a fucking coward,”

“Restraint, Silver,” Jericho stepped in.

“I know you are pissed but relax yourself. I have news,”

“I will let you guys be,” Lena excused us.

“What did you find?” I grabbed the file and looked through it carefully.

“I remembered the gas having a piercing sound before the bang. It's used by the military to discombobulate their target before the main deal,” he explained.

“So it's military graded, platoon certified for Pack's security.” I muttered as I followed up with his explanations.

“Narrowing the search to ?”

“Just two. And guess who is the biggest shareholder in one of those companies?”

“Argyle,” the word came out of my mouth before I could think.

“And who owns the company?”

“And that's where it gets a little bit twisted,” His look changed as he pulled out a file from an envelope and handed it to me. I received nervously, terrified of who it was going to be.

I took a long hard look at the name, Triscade Houston. I inhaled deeply, with my mind creating different theories to what was right in front of me.

“Something is not right,” Jericho remarked.

I grabbed my vibrating phone and it was a text of an address and time for my date with him that night.

“This is good,” I muttered softly.

“He said he met people on his travels. Maybe Raid was one of them and they are working together in this,”

“No, Jericho. This is actually very good. The both of them as allies makes my work so much easier,” I commented with a stern voice. The only thing that was blinding me was my emotions and with that out of the way, I could see a clear lining. They planned to manipulate me but they might have just presented me with a way out of my father's mess.

“What are you going to do?”

I raised my head with a grin, “ I have a date to prepare for,”

  • A Blind Gamble: The Mate I Never Chose   Chapter Eighty Two

Silver’s POVHe swept me off my feet, carrying me gently in his arms as I succumbed to the intense taste of his lips.My hands wrapped around him, feeling the thrills move through my spine like fluid. The longer it went on, the thirstier I became for more.He lowered me onto the bed, heaving heavily as he took off his unbuttoned shirt. Looking up at such a marvelous creation caused saliva to pool in my mouth; my eyes mapped the area from his chest to his abs, enjoying the view as my gaze drifted lower to the huge bulge visible through his trousers.“Pardon me,” he muttered as he unclipped my trousers. With one swift move, they were off my waist, revealing my wet black panties. I arched my back against the bed, ravishing in the heat pooling beneath my stomach.I shut my eyes, gulping hard when I felt him hover over me. The warmth of his tongue on my neck startled me as I gasped softly for breath. The feeling deepened, his bulge pressing against

Silver's POVWe were all seated around the grand table in the Feign mansion. The elders of the pack were present alongside Natasha.I kept looking at the door, expecting him to walk in, but he didn’t show.“So what am I doing here?” she asked, disrupting the silence. “I already told you I’m backing down from the pack.”“Your word means close to nothing,” Jane responded. “In front of you is a document relinquishing you of all assets if you try to pull an upheaval like that.”“Wrong,” Crator grunted loudly. “I know my sister, and her word actually means nothing.”She paused, smiling mischievously as she read through the document.“So we’re just going to pretend they didn’t betray us?” she said, looking at the elders.“We’re just going to accept him like he didn’t cause the death of my boy?”“Bitch, he’s my boy!” Crator snapped furiously. “Not yours, mine! The only mistake I made was letting him come work under you after

Silver's POV The kiss deepened, his tongue driving into my mouth with an intensity that took my breath away. I melted, succumbing to the kiss, his hand holding my face in place. He pulled back, leaving behind an ecstatic rush that made me flush. “I’m—” he swallowed, falling forward onto me. I was perplexed, watching as he collapsed onto my thighs. He passed out almost immediately, his heart racing in his chest. I guessed he was under the effect of the antidote in his system. I laid back on the bed and allowed him to rest his head on my chest as he slept peacefully. ***** “Silver,” his voice echoed through the darkness of my dream. “I’m coming home… I’m coming back to you.” “Raid?” I reached out to feel him—and I did. I was sure it was him. I could smell and feel him again. I wanted to be excited, but I quickly realized I was dreaming and jolted awake. I opened my eyes. It was already morning. I looked around and realized I was the only one in the room. Kaleb was gone. I chang

Silver's POVA knock on the door alerted me to their presence. One of Crator's men led them in as I walked down the stairs of Rune’s mansion.“Where is she?” Jericho's voice was the first I heard. “Where is my sister?”“Sister?” I replied as I stepped into the hallway. “That's touching, Jericho. I never thought you would ever take me as a sister.”He walked up to me with a fierce look, barely masking his worry. “You dumb… dumb child,” he said as he wrapped his arms around me.“I told you to reach out if anything happened.”“Well, I'm sorry. I didn't get the chance with a serial killer in front of me,” I replied, then turned to the others behind him.“Jane. Beta Algae.”“I would have never forgiven you if you died,” Jane uttered callously. “All my training would have gone to waste. I don't waste students.”“Shut the fuck up,” Jericho snapped sharply. Their bickering made me crack a smile. I thought I might not see that again.Algae walked quietly to my side, his eyes saying what his li

Silver's POV “Did you know he would show up?” Rune asked Crator, who descended the stairs with his axe scraping against the floor beneath it. “Was that why you sent the battalion into the pack for watchout?” He paused, grinning when he reached the last stair. “I had a feeling he wouldn’t be able to stay away. Something about the Salvatore seems to attract him.” “So you lured me,” he spoke, his ominous voice echoing through the woods. “How bold of you, Horizon.” “Don’t!” Crator growled, his eyes blazing with rage. “Don’t call me that name. No one gave me yours, so what do I call you?” “Chronicle,” he replied, turning his focus to me. “It’s good to see you again. You look grown up. Who prompted it? Hope it wasn’t me.” “Chronicle?” Kaleb asked, chuckling softly. “Every time I hear about you, it’s a different name. A man who can’t decide his name doesn’t know who he is.” “I don’t care about the name,” Rune muttered weakly. “He won’t need it in the place I’ll be sending him to.”

  • A Blind Gamble: The Mate I Never Chose   Chapter Seventy Seven

Raid’s POVI was worried sick, yet unable to reach her. There was no phone service, and I couldn’t escape the Gurr estate on my own.I stormed into Gaten’s study furiously, desperate to help the ones I loved.“I need to get out of here. You have no reason to hold me.”“You and I know that’s false,” he said, setting down the tea he was sipping. I had met people addicted to smoking and drinking, but never tea. Green sludge that tasted like crap.“You are here because I told young Kaleb to bring you. He made the deal because I foresaw Khang’s move.”“I know all of that,” I heaved, ready to do whatever it took as long as I was getting out.“You told me to be patient and learn, to understand Khang’s motive, but I got nothing. I have researched every single prospect, aspect of the library, and there’s nothing there.”“There’s always something, Raid,” he said calmly, still sipping his addiction.“I gave you knowledge, clarity, and a safe space, but you seek chaos. I have known Argyles to be
