Raid's POV

I felt it.

I felt it all. From the pleasure she got from another man to her heart pounding, the sensation tormented me all night. She was having such a good time and there I was, frustrated by the thought of it.

“Are you okay?” Algae walked in, caught me sitting by the fire with sweat drizzling all over me. I was looking for a way to numb the sensation but nothing seemed to work.

“Not planning on committing suicide, are you?”

“Maybe in the next life,” I got up to join him on the couch. I could smell the Vinegar weed in his coat - one of the only substances that could actually intoxicate me, other than Silver's scent.

“Stop hiding it and share. I need one right now,”

“I thought as much,” he pulled it out and gently wrapped it into its tree bark paper.

“It had been a while since we had a smoke. I miss it,”

He handed me the lit wrap which I didn't hesitate to take a puff. The flavor would knock out any regular person because of its harsh and powerful n

Silver's POV“This is my father's journal,” he pulled out an old book from underneath the round table. We were all seated, everyone of us except Rory. But the look she had when he brought out the book; I was sure it was really important to them. “The bastard of a father was a traveler, Voyager I fact. Went around the world, scavenging for what he never found,” I kept silent because I knew a lot about Rune's father. It was actually what made us bond in college, our workaholic dads fixated on everything materialistic. “What do you want with it?” Macai asked Jane who was relenting to share the details. “Well, I might just burn the damn thing if I don't get answers,” “Kaleb!” She blurted swiftly. “Kaleb asked me to proclaim it by any means necessary,” “I knew you were here because of him,” Jericho muttered, shooting her a weird gaze that I guessed only both of them understood. “What about you Rory? Why does your man want it or does he just want it?” “I don't ask questions,” she ga

Jericho's POV First a blinding light. It might be the sun’s rising. Oh no! It was my vision blurting out after meeting Macai's fist, repeatedly. “Hold him down,” he instructed his huge goons to grab on to me as he released his fist to my face and stomach repeatedly. “Time out, time out,” I groaned, feeling the metallic taste of blood in my mouth. I spat it on one of his henchmen's suits and received a slap as an appreciation. All these could have been avoided, if Jane didn't set me up to fail. Just before they attacked, I reached for my daggers but they weren't there. She must have taken it off the strap during our intimate moment. She sat with Rune, watching quietly as I got beat up. “I love a man covered in blood,” she said softly, locking gaze as I received blows to my ribs. “Enough,” Rune stopped him. “I think he has had enough. So Salvatore, care to speak on why you really came here?” “Oh, he wasn't lying on that part,” Jane replied as I tried to catch my breath. I coul

Jericho's POVI had to leave late, made sure a ride was waiting for Silver because I took hers. I drove through Echo’s border, heading for Eclipse. It was going to be a long journey, so I stopped for gas. I paid the attendant as I went into the supermarket to grab an energy drink. I could feel the stress getting to me, weeks of planning and constructing without rest. But one thing still terrified me, Khang. The fact that he could eliminate any one of us at any time was something I dreaded the most. “You are worthless,” Silver's father's words rang through my mind. My mind flashed back to my training when I was fourteen. He was teaching me a maneuver but no matter how many times I did it, I could never nail the ending. One time when I slipped and fell just at the end, hitting my face against the pavement. My lips split upon impact, filling my mouth with blood. “I doubt if you are even a Salvation,” he grabbed a fist full of my hair, raising my head to meet his ferocious glare. “I

Silver's POV“I'm not useful to you,” she spoke in a quiet voice. Her eyes carefully moved around the room, analyzing it. “Is this the place you took the man who almost executed me? He told me he met a gruesome end by your hands,” “Well your source is wrong,” I stated as I pulled out a to- go bag. I placed the food by her bedside, noticing her every move. I wouldn't want to risk sudden surprises.“I didn't kill Sanders,” She laughed softly, the sound edged with mockery. “Did I say something funny?” I asked curiously, leaning back and waited for her to enjoy her amusement. “For someone who appears so elegant, you do know nothing. How have you survived this long?” “I'm smart, I'm pretty and I ever gave a fuck,” I answered sharply. “Now, are you ready to answer my questions?” She picked up the burger I bought and carefully bit into it. “You did kill Sanders,” she muttered with her mouth filled with beef and lettuce. “Same way he is going to kill you. You made a man watch helple

Silver's POVThe Savagers left but we knew better, we knew they were going to come back and all of us were going to be their target. The Underground Business world went silent the past week in Echo. Justin's death was nicknamed the ‘The Bloody Moon’ by the media. Some call out Raid as a butcher, some nicknamed him Khang's true nemesis. All these press- he was watching it and we knew he wasn't pleased. Sooner than later, he will strike again but Khang wasn't the only piece we were struggling to fit in. The man in the cloak. His partner was still unconscious, treated by the same shady doctor that helped Triscade. Me? I was locked in at work. My workers had returned but all division leaders were fired and replaced. Production was ongoing, market strategies were being formulated but were the people of the world going to work with us? After the stunt we killed, we were uncertain. “We can't do business with Scurrin City, their pack country will break our resource to meet their need,”

  • A Blind Gamble    Chapter Fifty Three

Raid's POV He touched her! No, he hit her. He had the courage to raise his hand at her after succeeding in stealing my position as Alpha of Echo pack. I watched as his aunt roared and cried in pain. Her scream was like a melody to my aching heart. “You killed my boy,” She growled, looking up at me. Mama Yuri stepped aside calmly, walking down the stairs as the tension heightened in the room. The shock on Kaleb's face was worth it, worth every struggle, every wait. He still couldn't believe he was staring at the head of his star student. “You are dead!” Rune roared as all his people pulled out their weapons, their growls getting louder with every second. “Kill them! Kill every last one!” Natasha cried but even her fierce words couldn't faze me. “You are all forgetting something,” I voiced, swinging the dagger to remove the chink of flesh stuck to the side. “I am still the alpha,” And with just a gentle grunt, my men stepped out of the shadows. “I am the apex of Echo Pack.
