The candlelight in the hall flickered, long shadows formed across the walls as Richard poured wine into Beta Xavier’s goblet with trembling hands. Though he smiled, though his words dripped with honey, Freya could hear the edge of desperation beneath his tone.

“You see, Beta,” Richard began, “our family has always respected the Northridge Pack. When… unfortunate circumstances befell us, your Alpha was generous enough to lend a hand.”

Xavier sipped his wine, his gaze steady, unreadable. “A hand,” he repeated, voice slow, deliberate. “You mean a loan.”

Richard’s laugh was brittle. “Of course, of course. A loan. But surely you understand that times were difficult. Crops failed, traders abandoned the routes, and debts piled higher than the roof over our heads. Without your Alpha’s generosity, we would not have survived.”

Lycril leaned in, her jeweled fingers brushing Richard’s arm as though urging him to steady himself. Her smile was practiced, flawless. “And we are ready to make good on our promise, Beta. My husband is a man of his word. We do not go back on what we owe.”

Xavier’s eyes narrowed slightly, though his expression remained calm. “Then you know why I am here. The Alpha grows impatient. The debt was due last season. Your lands, your coin, your livestock — none of it was enough. So the Alpha will collect what he was promised.”

Freya’s brow furrowed from her shadowed corner. What was he promised?

Richard’s grin widened, too quick, too eager. “Yes, yes. As agreed. You shall have her.”

For a heartbeat, silence fell like a blade through the air.

Lycril chuckled, her voice light, and mocking. “Imagine, the Alpha listening to that old healer. Claiming an omega—our omega—will bear him pups strong enough to strengthen his lineage. The very idea! We nearly laughed ourselves sick when we heard it.”

Richard shook his head, chuckling darkly. “A wolfless, pitiful thing like her? Hah. But if the Alpha wants to waste his time, who are we to question him? At least she finally proves useful. Debt repaid, and our family’s honor intact.”

Amanda smirked from her place near the doorway, her eyes glittering with cruel amusement. Enzo leaned back in his chair, arms folded, a sneer playing on his lips.

Freya’s chest tightened. She couldn’t understand what they were saying, but every glance, every laugh, every cruel smirk twisted her stomach into knots. What agreement? What healer? What do they mean, “have her”?

Xavier set down his goblet with deliberate calm. “The Alpha does not tolerate delays or mockery,” he said softly, though the weight in his tone silenced the room instantly. “Whether you believe in the healer’s words or not is irrelevant. What matters is that the debt is repaid in full, as promised.”

Richard bowed his head quickly, his false grin still plastered on his face. “Of course. Of course.”

Lycril’s lips curled. “Shall we present her to you now?”

Xavier’s gaze shifted — not toward Richard, not toward Lycril, but toward the shadows where Freya stood. His eyes met hers for the first time, and her breath caught in her throat.

“Bring her forward,” he said.

---

Lycril’s hand clamped around Freya’s wrist, dragging her into the circle of light. She stumbled, her knees growing weak, her face burned as every eye turned toward her.

“There she is,” Lycril said with a mocking sweetness. “The child who caused me endless headaches. Always clumsy, always bruised from her silly games. But she will do, won’t she?”

Freya’s lips parted, confusion flooding her entire being. What are they saying? Why are they showing me off like livestock?

Xavier’s gaze traveled over her, slow, and assessing. Freya felt stripped bare beneath it. He saw what her family tried to hide — the faint scars etched along her arms, the bruises half-concealed beneath her sleeves, the thinness of her frame from too many missed meals.

Lycril’s laugh was brittle. “Oh, those? Don’t mind them. She was always falling when she played as a child. Careless thing, isn’t she?”

Xavier’s eyes flicked briefly to Lycril, his face unreadable with disgust. He did not call her out, but Freya felt it — he did not believe her.

Still, he said nothing.

Instead, he rose from his chair, his movements fluid and commanding. “It is settled,” he said. “The Alpha will accept this as repayment. The bargain is fulfilled.”

Richard’s shoulders sagged in visible relief. Lycril’s smile turned triumphant, her eyes glinting with victory. Amanda and Enzo exchanged smirks, their expressions dripping with cruel satisfaction.

Freya’s heart pounded violently in her chest. What bargain? Fulfilled? What are they doing?

Before she could speak, Lycril shoved her lightly forward. “Go on, Freya. Be grateful. You finally get to be of use to this family.”

Her words were venom disguised as sweetness.

---

Outside, the air was sharp with the scent of pine and horses. A carriage waited, sleek and black, flanked by riders bearing the Northridge crest.

Freya’s body moved on instinct, her mind too dazed to resist. Each step felt heavier than the last.

Richard and Lycril followed behind, smiling, proud, as though they had just secured the most profitable trade of their lives. Amanda and Enzo lingered near the doorway, their eyes gleaming with mockery.

When Freya turned her head slightly, she caught Amanda’s smirk, the exaggerated wave of her delicate fingers. Enzo’s sneer cut deeper than any whip.

Triumph. Victory. As though casting her away was their greatest success.

Xavier opened the carriage door and gestured inside. “Get in.”

Her legs shook violently, but she obeyed, clutching the edge of her dress as she climbed up. She sank into the seat, her fingers twisting the fabric in her lap, her breaths shallow and ragged.

From outside, she heard Richard’s voice, thick with glee. “Our debt has been repaid at last. May the Alpha find her… satisfactory.”

Lycril’s laugh chimed in, cruel and sharp. “Oh, he will. And we? We are finally free of her burden.”

The words sliced into Freya’s chest. She pressed a hand against her heart, but it did nothing to dull the ache.

Xavier climbed in beside her, his presence filling the small carriage. He gave a sharp nod, and the horses surged forward, the wheels creaking as they rolled down the dirt road.

Freya clutched her hands together tightly, her knuckles white. Her voice trembled as she dared to speak. “W-what… What's happening? Why am I… where are we going?”

Xavier’s gaze lifted to hers, cold, unwavering. For a long, suffocating moment, he said nothing.

The silence crushed her. Finally, his lips parted.

“You will understand when we arrive.”

The chill in his tone silenced her. She pressed back into the seat, her heart hammering against her ribs. Fear clawed up her throat, threatening to choke her.

Outside, the world blurred past — the trees, the fields, the fading light of her home.

Inside, Freya’s mind raced. She was leaving everything she had ever known, yet she wasn’t free. No — she was being delivered into something worse.

She stared down at her hands, the faint scars etched into her skin. For years, she had longed for escape, for someone to take her far from the cruelty of her father and Lycril.

But not like this.

Not as payment. Not as a property either.

As the carriage carried her deeper into Northridge territory, Freya realized the truth. Whatever fate awaited her, she was alone.

And when they reached their destination, everything would change.

The silence that fell over the inner hall was heavy and suffocating, a vacuum left by the sudden departure of the two brothers.Freya felt the panic surge through her, a cold, tightening knot in her chest. She couldn't breathe. Her fingers dug into Samantha's hand, seeking an anchor, and she felt the gentle, reassuring rub in return.“It’s okay, Freya. We’ll go to the room. Just leave them for a while,” Samantha whispered, her gaze sweeping the tense hall.Xavier and Theodore, however, were not moving. They remained flanking the archway, rigid and alert. Their presence was a physical barrier, a silent promise that should Kia attempt anything—an escape, a grab, or a fight—they were ready. They were the kingdom’s shield, and their simmering tension was a reflection of the unspoken fear shared by everyone present: that the peace they had cultivated was about to shatter.Freya nodded numbly, letting Samantha guide her away from the watchful eyes of the council and the worried pack members

The moment the stranger’s voice sliced through the hall, Freya’s body stiffened. The slow, deliberate clap echoed off the high stone walls, and every wolf in the chamber froze. Conversations died mid-sentence, laughter collapsed into silence, and even the music faltered as though the strings themselves refused to play.Freya turned her head, her heart thundering against her ribs, and her eyes landed on him.The intruder strode through the archway with a casual arrogance that made her skin crawl. His dark hair fell in loose waves around a sharp face, his smirk pulling tight over lips that seemed carved for mockery. But it wasn’t his appearance alone that stilled the crowd—it was the familiarity etched into his features. He carried the same proud jawline as Logan, the same piercing eyes, though his gaze carried no warmth. Where Logan’s presence commanded respect, his own radiated disruption, a tainted reflection of what an Alpha could be.Gasps rippled through the hall.Logan stood at o

Since the day Logan brought the dress, Freya’s thoughts had been restless. Every time she walked past the spot where it hung — perfectly draped on the carved oak stand — her chest tightened. It was more than fabric; it was a question she couldn’t answer. Why had Logan given it to her? Why now?The memory of Avy’s words clung to her like a second skin: “Alpha Logan said you should wear it on the night of the full moon and meet him in the council hall.”Three days. Three days of sleepless nights, of pretending to be calm around Samantha, and of pushing away the ghost of Daniel’s smile when it tried to creep into her heart. She had made peace with the fact that her human life was gone, but peace did not erase the scars. Now, the night of the full moon has arrived.Freya sat on the wooden stool in Samantha’s room, her fingers clenched together tightly in her lap. Samantha stood behind her, weaving flowers into her long hair, humming softly. The fragrance of fresh blossoms mixed with the f

Freya was seated on the edge of Samantha’s wide oak bed, her fingers absently tugging at the loose threads of the blanket beneath her. The room smelled faintly of lavender and warm firewood from the hearth, comforting in its simplicity. She and Samantha had been talking — though in truth, it was more Samantha doing the talking while Freya half-listened, her mind circling the words Logan had spoken earlier.“…and then of course, the kitchen omegas spilled nearly half the stew before dinner could even begin,” Samantha was saying, rolling her eyes dramatically. “It’s a wonder anyone here survives with the chaos that happens behind the scenes.”Freya let out a small laugh, though her heart wasn’t fully in it. She wanted to focus, to enjoy the sisterly comfort of Samantha’s chatter, but her mind refused to settle. The memory of Logan’s gaze earlier, the weight in his voice when he had hinted at “something he needed to tell her,” lingered like smoke. Before she could chase the thought furth

Freya didn’t say a word because she knew deep down that what Samantha had told her was true. No matter how hard she wished otherwise, every syllable rang with a brutal honesty she couldn’t escape. She only lowered herself onto the bed, curling into herself as if the softness beneath her could swallow her pain. Samantha stayed close, but there was nothing more to say.The following days blurred together. Each morning Freya woke up with the same weight on her chest, a heavy reminder that the human world was no longer hers. She had carried the fantasy stubbornly for months, believing that somehow she would slip away, that somehow she would return to streets where no one knew her name, where no destiny pressed against her shoulders. But the reality was merciless. The door to her old life was gone.So she forced herself to accept it. Piece by piece, she trained her mind to let go. It wasn’t easy—sometimes she would wake in the night, hands clutching the sheets, heart aching for the laughte

  • A Breeder For The Alpha King [Between the two worlds]   Chapter 75

The days after the attack dragged were filled with fear. Everyone was at alert, trying to sense if there was danger still lurking around. They knew Lucia could strike any time soon, so they need to be on the safe side. The guards patrolled ceaselessly, torches burning through the night, yet the fear lingered stronger. People whispered that she would return — tonight, tomorrow, perhaps even now.Logan carried that dread heavier than anyone else. Though he moved through the halls with his usual command, inside he felt the echo of his weakness. His body had not fully recovered from the draining strike; his chest still ached when he breathed too deeply, his hands trembled when anger surged. And worse than his injuries was the truth — he had faced something greater than himself, and he had failed.Lucia would come again. Of that, he had no doubt. And when she did, if the kingdom was not ready, Northridge would fall.So he summoned Freya. When she entered his chambers, hesitation was seen
