Aurora.

I still couldn’t believe I’d survived.

The fall should’ve shattered every bone in my body—or killed me. I remembered the sharp edge of the balcony, the blur of sky and stone as I tumbled, the screaming wind tearing through my ears. But somehow, by some miracle or cruel twist of fate, I woke up in a sterile white hospital room with machines beeping beside me and Kaidan asleep in a chair by the window.

It’d been days since then. I healed faster than normal, Beta genes working overtime, stitching my bruised body back together. But no amount of supernatural recovery could patch the aching fire inside me. Ivy. She had done this. She tried to kill me. And I wasn’t going to forget that.

But revenge had to wait.

I had something far more important in my arms.

“I missed you,” I whispered, breathless, as Kaidan stepped into my room.

“I counted every damn second, Aurora,” he murmured, before his mouth crushed into mine.

Our kiss was desperate, hungry, like we were trying to reclaim all th

Lucy. One week.Seven sunrises since I gave birth to them, yet it felt like time had both frozen and fled.Arielle and Nolan. The names felt like music. Alpha Ellison had finally announced them today, after days of quiet tension and sleepless nights. It was strange how something so simple could make them feel even more real, like the whole world had shifted to make space for them.Arielle. Light and fierce.Nolan. Calm and constant. My heart swelled just thinking about them, even as my fingers fumbled around the edges of the suitcase on the bed. I sat still for a moment, staring at the half-packed bag, the pale blue silk dress folded on top. I was supposed to be leaving.“Free,” they called it.Freedom. A word that now sounded more like exile.Because leaving the palace didn’t feel like freedom. It felt like I was about to tear my heart out of my chest and leave it behind. My fingertips brushed the edge of the contract still tucked under the mirror tray. The words glared at me like th

Ivy.The burn of the whiskey coated my throat like a promise I knew I shouldn’t keep—but I drank it anyway. Again. And again. The club lights flickered over the glass in my hand, casting orange and violet shadows across the sticky table I’d claimed as my altar to self-destruction. I wasn’t even pretending anymore. The music had long since dulled into background noise, replaced by the rhythm of my own thoughts echoing against the hollow inside of me.Lucy had given birth.Twins.The air even tasted different now. Like change. Like the end.I wasn’t needed anymore. Not by him.Alpha Ellison hadn’t even looked at me since the twins arrived—since she brought them into the world, like some shining goddess reborn. I laughed bitterly, a low, cracked sound that startled the guy in the booth next to mine. I raised my empty glass again before realizing it was… well, empty.“Another,” I slurred at the bartender, waving it lazily. He looked at me with a mix of pity and annoyance, but before he c

Lucy.“SOMEBODY HELP HER!” a voice thundered down the hallway, shaking the walls of the pack house.Everything was chaos.I was already halfway gone with pain, my body arching and twisting as I was carried down the corridor on a stretcher, sweat pooling in every crevice, hair plastered to my skin, my fingers clenched around the edge of the thin sheets they’d wrapped me in. Each contraction was a wave, crashing over me with merciless force, dragging me further into the depths of exhaustion.I couldn’t breathe."She's crowning!" someone shouted near my legs—one of the midwives, I think. But the words barely registered. All I could hear was my own ragged breathing, the sound of blood rushing in my ears like a waterfall.“Hang on, Lucy. You’re almost there,” another voice said—a voice I’d know even if the world was ending.Ellison.He appeared beside me as they swung the stretcher into the room, his face pale, eyes wild. He grabbed my hand and kissed it, pressing it against his chest.“I’

Aurora.“What did you just say?”My voice cracked like a whip through the room, sharp and disbelieving. I hadn’t meant to yell, but the words tumbled out of my mouth before I could stop them.My mother didn’t even flinch. Her back was still turned to me as she smoothed out an invisible wrinkle on the rich crimson fabric of the corset she’d just forced onto my body. When she turned to face me again, her expression was cold. Unshaken. She said it like she was commenting on the weather.“You’re going to get pregnant by the Alpha King tonight.”I stared at her, my breath caught somewhere between my lungs and my throat. She said it again. Slower. Crueler. “That’s the only way our plan can truly succeed.”I took a step back. “You want me to seduce him? You want me to trap Alpha Ellison into fathering a child?”“Yes,” she said simply. “And you will do it.”I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think. Couldn’t speak. But then—Thunk.A soft sound beneath the bed, like someone shifting too suddenly. My

Ethan.“Get out!” I roared, lurching to my feet as the kids scattered in shrieking laughter, dust rising around their bare feet as they fled.“Mad man! Mad maaaaan!” one of them sang from a distance, his voice obnoxiously sweet like a taunt wrapped in honey. A rock thudded near my foot, followed by a giggle. I swore under my breath, glaring after them.Little bastards.I slumped back down against the rusted metal fence, sweat dampening the collar of my shirt. My stomach growled again, sharp and empty. I hadn’t eaten since yesterday’s scraps, a half-eaten chicken bone and a crust of something I didn’t dare name. My clothes reeked of rot and grease, patched in places with strips of garbage bags I’d cut and tied with shoelaces. My shoes didn’t match. One had a sole peeling like a bad scab. The other had no laces at all.Banished. Exiled. Forgotten.Once, I’d stood tall in a pack that saluted me as their Beta. Now, I was filth by a dumpster. It had been months since I was cast out—strippe
