Adrik

The jet wheels touched down with a soft groan against the frostbitten tarmac, a reminder that we were no longer flying above it all. We were landing right back in my past.

Russia.

Outside, Moscow's early winter greeted us with a gray sky and drifting snow. Through the fogged window, I could just make out the familiar sprawl of the airstrip cold as the memories waiting beyond it.

I didn't wait for the plane to taxi. The moment the engines began to hum into rest, I unbuckled and rose, careful not to jostle Serafina as I gathered her in my arms.

Her skin was still too pale, and her breathing was shallow. But she was alive.

“Careful with the door,” I snapped at the flight attendant who immediately scrambled to comply.

Sergei was waiting at the bottom of the stairs, his eyes bloodied from lack of sleep. He looked like he hadn't left the jet’s tracking radar since we took off.

“Is she still–”

“Unconscious,” I answered flatly. “She stirred mid-flight, said a few words then slipped

Sera The first thing I saw was frost, clinging to the window like a spider web. Pale light seeped into the room, cold and still. My eyes adjusted, dragging across the unfamiliar room. The air smelled of wood smoke and something herbal—lavender, maybe. The sheets beneath me were thick and smooth. Definitely not a hospital. And not home.Where was I? I shifted and sucked in a breath at the sharp pain in my side. It felt like I had been tossed into a meat grinder. Then I saw him.Adrik.He was slumped beside the bed in an armchair that was far too small for him, his large frame was curled awkwardly, chin tipped to his chest. His fingers were wrapped tightly around mine like he’d never let go. His other hand rested loosely on his lap. I could see that his knuckles were slightly bruised. Perhaps he punched something? Or someone. His jaw was unshaven and his eyes closed.I stared at him.Even in sleep, he was devastatingly handsome.”Adrik” I whispered, my throat was dry and frayed, like

  • A Bride For A Truce   Got you back

Sera (Mid-flight, slipping in and out of consciousness) It’s snowing. But not outside. Inside. The ceiling melts away and thousand snowflakes drift down—slow, soft and silent. I try to catch one,but my fingers won’t move. They’re numb. Or maybe i’m dreaming. My brows knit. Why won’t my hands move? The snow turns red and i hear a distant sound of piano playing. Or maybe it’s a lullaby. Wait, is that my mother’s voice? It sounds so low and broken. “Don’t leave,” someone whispers. It’s a man’s voice that sounds vaguely familiar. He sounded sad and distant, with fear and something else laced in his voice. Regret? Pain? I try to speak but my throat feels like it’s on fire. I reach towards the voice and darkness envelopes me again, sending warmth through me. I hear the subtle thrum of something beneath me…Engines? Something warm clasps my fingers. The pressure steadying me before I even open my eyes. I blink against the blinding lights that assault me the m

  • A Bride For A Truce   Bastard Son

Adrik The first time I ever felt my heart being ripped in two was the night my mother was murdered, the second was the moment I saw my wife get shot. One moment she was standing beneath the makeshift stage talking to a little boy, the next she was crumpling. I ran to her, pushing through the stunned crowd ,shoving aside tables and everything else in my way. I dropped to my knees, cradling her like something sacred, pressing down on the wound with both hands, red spreading across the white silk blouse. There was blood, too much blood. I’ve survived warzones, betrayal, torture. But nothing—nothing prepared me for the sight of Serafina bleeding in my arms. “Sera.” My voice cracked “Sera please look at me. Don’t you dare die on me” She’s slipping fast, blood coating the side of her lips as it trailed out. I looked up, rage pumping through my veins, my eyes locked with Sergei’s “Make sure the kids get out safe, find me the damn shooter alive or in pieces!” Sergei drop

Sera— Two weeks laterTwo weeks flew by in a blur of calls, meetings, and questions of what options I'll prefer for different items. Planning for dozens of children was more work than I'd imagined.Adrik has been in Switzerland for business—something about offshore accounts and “a man who needs to disappear quietly.”I missed him so much it left a strange ache in my chest, constant and dull. It's been twelve days without him. Waking up to an empty bed was depressing, but the only comfort was that Adrik and I talked every day.Okay not just talked. There was also a lot of whispering of filthy things to each other in the middle of the night. Sexting. Voice notes. One night we had a very memorable FaceTime call that ended with me on my knees, hands between my thighs as he watched me touch myself. It wasn't just sexual calls, sometimes he just listened while I breathed or to updates on how preparations for the Charity events were coming along. But today? Today he was coming home.“Are you

  • A Bride For A Truce   I love you Zolotse

Adrik The second her body melted into mine, weak and breathless, I knew I was a gone man. I was obsessed with her. Her body, her taste, her essence. She was curled against my chest, her cheek pressed to my heart like it was home. For the first time in a long time, I didn't feel the need to guard it. I also knew one thing for certain—I wasn't done with her body just yet. “Thirsty?” I asked, brushing sweat-damp hair off her forehead. I lifted her gently, setting her down with a light smack to her ass. “Come on Kotyonok. Let’s get you some water.” Retrieving her shirt from the floor, I helped her shrug into it. We made our way to the kitchen, her hips swaying as she walked ahead of me, her bare bottom calling to me. I poured her a glass of cold water and handed it to her. Her throat bobbed as she drank, droplets of water slipping down her chin and breasts. My cock twitched at the sight. Fuck, she was lethal. She caught me staring and blushed over the rim of her glas
