Chapter 10 Who hurt you

Third Person's POV  

Thaddeus pushed all the plates aside after they were done eating. He was hoping to finally get some answers and find out who did this to him. 

The Alpha looked at Aiden, who looked content as he leaned back in his chair and licked his lips. His hands rested on his stomach as he let out a little hum. Thaddeus fought the urge to scoop his mate into his arms and squeeze him. ‘He was just too adorable!’ The Alpha thought.

“Aiden, can you tell me who did this to you?” 

The Omega instantly tensed and nervously looked down at his lap as he began playing with his fingers. 

Thaddeus hated that someone hurt the Omega and made him afraid to talk to his own mate. 

“I know you are afraid to talk to me. I know you don't know me, but I promise I will never hurt you! You're my mate, sweetheart. I would never hurt you! I care about you… I need to know what happened. I need to know who did this to you. When I said I won't let anyone hurt you again, I meant it. You don't have to be afraid to talk to me.” 

Aiden looked at Thaddeus but made sure not to look him in the eyes. This broke Thaddeus's heart because it meant only one thing. It was beaten into him never to look anyone in the eyes. 

Thaddeus reached over, placing his fingers under Aiden's chin, and gently raised his head. 

“Aiden, look at me… It's okay. You don't have to be afraid to look at me. I promise I'll never hurt you!” Thaddeus said softly as he caressed Aiden's jaw.

Thaddeus sighed when the Omega still wouldn't look him in the eyes. The Alpha let go of Aiden's chin as he sat back in his chair. 

“Can you at least tell me what pack you're from?”

“I-I came f-from Blood Moon Pack.” Aiden said after the few moments it took to gain the courage to speak. 

“Can you tell me who did this to you?” Thaddeus asked, and Aiden looked down at his hands resting in his lap. 

“The A-Alpha,” He whispered. 

Rage instantly filled the Alpha. It coursed through Thaddeus, swirling and burning. ‘His own Alpha did this to him! What kind of piece of shit would hurt his own people?’ The Alpha thought as his hands curled into fists and his jaw clenched tight. His body trembled as he struggled to control his anger and his wolf's... Zeus wanted out. He wanted revenge. The Alpha's chest vibrated as a growl rose from deep in his chest. 

A whimper snapped the Alpha from his rage. His eye snapped to Aiden, and his stomach dropped. 

Aiden's body trembled. His arms wrapped tight around his body, and his head hung low. Tears streamed down his face as his lip trembled, struggling not to cry. The scent of fear rolling off of the Omega was strong. Thaddeus felt like an ass for scaring his mate. 

Thaddeus wanted to pull Aiden into his lap, but he knew that would scare the Omega. Thaddeus turned his wheelchair and reached over, gently cupping his face, but his eyes remained squeezed closed.

“I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you… I just got so angry at the thought of anyone hurting you. Especially your Alpha. He's the one person who was supposed to protect you, and he didn't.”

Blue eyes slowly opened, and he looked at Thaddeus. The Alpha could see the surprise in his eyes.

Thaddeus's heart swelled as Aiden looked into his eyes. The Alpha gently caressed his cheek with his thumb, and a warmth spread through his chest when the Omega's eyes slowly closed. he turned his face into his hand, leaning into it. 

They stayed like that for a short while. Thaddeus didn't want to push Aiden too much. He's just starting to gain his trust. Thaddeus slowly took his hand back and then sat back in his chair. He glanced at the time and then mentally cursed. It was 10:00 a.m. and he was supposed to be on the training field by now. 

Thaddeus didn't want to leave Aiden but he promised Marcus he'd help him on the training field today. The Alpha let out a sigh as he looked at Aiden.

“I'm sorry, sweetheart. I have to go to the training field now. I'll only be gone a few hours… Are you comfortable going downstairs?” Thaddeus asked, and the Omega quickly shook his head. 

“Okay. You can stay up here then. You can watch TV if you want to.” Thaddeus said as he backed away from the table. He held his hand out to help Aiden to his feet before entering the apartment. 

Thaddeus grabbed the remote off the nightstand and handed it to Aiden before making his way into the closet to change. A few minutes later, when the Alpha came back out, he found Aiden sitting on the bed, staring at the remote with a confused look on his face.  

The Alpha let out a slow breath, calming himself when he realized Aiden had no idea how to use the remote. 

“Here, let me show you how it works,” Thaddeus said as he approached Aiden. The Omega looked embarrassed as he handed the remote over. 

“It's okay, sweetheart.” The Alpha said softly before explaining how the remote worked. 

“What do you like to watch? I can put something on for you.”

Aiden looked even more embarrassed than he was earlier and looked down into his lap again. 

“I-I don't know… I've n-never watched TV before,” He said quietly. 

Thaddeus didn't say anything for a moment. He looked at his mate, shocked. What does he mean he's never watched TV before? ‘What the fuck?! Did that bastard keep him in a fucking dungeon or something?’ The Alpha thought angrily. The Alpha's rage was quickly rising, so he held his breath for a moment, trying to get control of himself. The more he learns about Aiden, the more it paints a picture of his life, breaking the Alpha's heart. 

Thaddeus sighed as he handed the remote to Aiden and showed him once again how to change the channel. 

The Alpha's heart broke as he looked back at Aiden, who had no idea what a remote is, let alone what the damn TV was. The Alpha never wanted to kill someone as bad as he does right now. He wanted to slowly tear that Alpha apart and hear him beg for mercy. Mercy that he would never get.

Thaddeus swallowed the lump in his throat before pulling the door closed. 

The Alpha struggled to contain Zeus as he made his way through the pack house. For a moment he almost lost control in the elevator. That would have been a disaster. 

The Alpha wanted to know more about Aiden. But he was also afraid to find out just how bad it really was. The Alpha is suddenly reminded of the doctor's words, and his eyes close as his heart breaks. ‘Has he been dealing with this abuse his whole life?... What about his parents? Where are they?’ The Alpha runs his hand down his face and tries to clear his thoughts which are running rampant with Aiden's past.
