Chapter 13 White Wolf

Third Person's POV 

Aiden wasn't sure what was going on or why the Alpha suddenly seemed angry. He was shocked when the Alpha yelled at him. The Omega flinched and then wrapped his arms around himself. His eyes stung as they filled with tears, unsure of what he had done wrong. The Omega wasn't sure why it hurt so much, knowing he had made the Alpha angry, or why it hurt even more when he yelled at him. It was nothing like a beating, but somehow, it hurt just the same. 

Aiden was shocked when the Alpha shifted right there in the dining room. He wasn't sure what was more shocking, the fact that the Alpha shifted inside, or the fact that his wolf was using all four legs… Or maybe it was how massive he was. The Omega had never seen a wolf so big before. Not even his old Alpha was that big. 

As big and scary as his wolf was, he couldn't help but notice how beautiful he was. He was so black and shiny, and his fur looked so soft and perfect.

The Omega was surprised the Alpha wolf had fit through the door. His sides scraped along the door frame as he ran through it. ‘They really should consider widening that door!’ Aiden thought as he stared at the door. 

Aiden couldn't help but wonder what was going on. ‘Are we under attack? Is it rogues? Those things terrify me!’ The Omega thought as his arms wrapped around himself. 

Aiden prayed it wasn't his old Alpha coming to take him back. That thought terrified him more than anything else, and his arms wrapped tighter around his body. The Omega began rocking in his chair as tears filled his eyes and his heart raced. He didn't want to go back. He didn't want to leave Thaddeus. Just the thought of leaving him made it feel as though he couldn't breathe. 

Aiden was startled when someone touched his shoulder. The Omega's head snapped up to see the Beta next to him. He had a sad expression as he pulled his hand back. 

“I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. Everything will be okay. Thaddeus just had to go take care of something,” Xander said, trying to calm the Omega. He wasn't sure if Omega was even aware of the distressed whimpers he was making, and it broke his heart. 

Xander offered a soft smile, hoping that would do the job and put him at ease, but it didn't help. Aiden looked toward the window, unable to shake the uneasy feeling inside. It was a strange feeling, as if something inside of him was waking up. 

It wasn't just his wolf that was waking, it was something much deeper. 

His wolf, who had been sleeping since he woke up in this pack, was now waking up. He felt winter coming to the surface, reaching out from the dark depths of his head. He heard his voice for the first time in so long, but couldn't quite make out what Winter was saying. He was still too far away. His words were muffled and unclear until they were suddenly so loud that they hurt, and the Omega winced as he grabbed his head.

“What's wrong?” Xander asked, concerned. 

“My head hurts,” Aiden said as he massaged his temples. 

“Hang tight, kiddo. I'll grab you some Tylenol.” Xander said as he went into the kitchen. 

As soon as the Beta was in the kitchen, his wolf spoke again, and this time, Aiden was able to understand. Winter was frantic as he demanded Aiden go outside. He's never felt his wolf so panicked and desperate. It had the Omega scrambling to his feet and doing what his wolf wanted. 

Aiden ran as fast as he could out the front door and slid to a halt on the porch. The Omega watched, horrified, as a dark gray and red wolf tackled a small white wolf who was running straight for him. The two wolves tumbled before the gray wolf was flung off. 

Before the white wolf could get to its feet, Thaddeus's wolf jumped on it, pinning the wolf to the ground while growling. In an instant, Thaddeus's wolf's jaws were wrapped around the white wolf's throat, and it looked at Aiden, terrified.

When Aiden looked into the white wolf's eyes, he was shocked to see that they had gone from green to glowing bright blue. 

As the white wolf's eyes began to glow, everything Aiden looked at took on a blue hue as if his eyes were glowing blue too. The Omega felt a strange pull to the white wolf. A connection, a sense of recognition, and for a moment, he felt its terror as if it was his own.

Aiden ran down the stairs, screaming at the top of his lungs, “STOP!”

Thaddeus instantly froze with his mouth wrapped around the white wolf's throat. He watched in shock as Aiden ran toward them and dropped down in front of the white wolf before pushing on his face, but he didn't budge. 

Aiden wrapped his arms around the wolf's head, hoping to stop Thaddeus from hurting it. He can't explain it, but somehow, he knows this wolf, even though he has no memory of ever seeing it. 

Thaddeus let go. Zeus continued growling as he backed away. The Alpha wolf walked around the white wolf and nudged Aiden, trying to get his mate away from the wolf. 

The Omega didn't let go until he heard the familiar sound of bones cracking, and he let go, knowing it was shifting. 

The shift was fast, and before he knew it, a naked female was kneeling in front of him. 

She had long golden blonde hair and blue eyes, just like Aiden's. Her eyes were filled with tears as she looked at him. Her eyes searched his face before she threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around him. She clung tight to Aiden, squeezing him.

“I can't believe I found you!” Her shoulders shook as she broke down crying when Aiden's arms wrapped around her. Aiden soothingly ran his fingers through her hair, trying to calm her down. Somehow, she was familiar. That strange sensation he felt earlier was getting stronger as he held her. That pull to her, that connection. 

After a few moments, she finally pulled back, and her hands went to Aiden's face. She held his face as she looked into his eyes. 

“It's really you, Aiden! I can't believe I finally found you! I've been looking for you for so long!... I was beginning to think I would never find you,” she said before throwing her arms around his neck again as she cried. 

Aiden wrapped his arms around her again. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Thaddeus's wolf's head drop as he walked away and disappeared into the woods.

Thaddeus was angry at the white wolf. ‘How dare that thing come into my territory!’ The Alpha thought angrily as he ran through the woods. He wanted to rip that thing apart, but unfortunately, Aiden stopped him. 

It was one thing when he was hugging the stupid thing's head. But it was suddenly ten times worse when it shifted, and a naked girl threw herself at him. The damn thing was a snot-nose crying mess as she clung to Aiden like a leech. The Alpha wanted to rip her head off when she took Aiden's face into her hands. It looked like such an intimate moment. It felt like someone had reached into his chest and squeezed his heart. The Alpha felt his stomach drop when she said his name and heard she had been looking for him. Who was this person to Aiden? The Alpha wondered as he pushed himself faster. The trees whipped past the Alpha wolf, and he whimpered at the thought that it might be his girlfriend. 

‘It has to be his girlfriend. It makes sense. She is beautiful and has legs that work. Not only that, but she is also a female, not another guy. I should have known. No one is ever going to want someone stuck in a damn wheelchair!’ Thaddeus thought, and Zeus ran faster.
