Michael's POV

"I love you!" Noah whispered.

I took in a sharp breath. My eyes immediately filled with tears and began rolling down my cheeks. Those are words I was afraid I would never hear leave his lips. Words I so badly wanted to hear from him, but thought he would never feel for me, and he just said them.

I closed my eyes and more tears fell. My father's words echoed in my head. He was hard on me growing up. He was a great Alpha and treated our people well, but he was always so hard and cold to me. He wanted me to be a strong and tough Alpha. I don't know if he said those words to make me a hard person, to toughen me?... But the one thing he said that always bothered me the most, was that no one would ever love me, not even my mate.
