Jaida just stared at him, an expression of pure sympathy on her face. Arius was in a great deal of mental pain right now, and she had no idea how she could help him. If only she could turn back time, if only she would have paid attention to the time it was…then maybe none of this would have happened. She hated to admit it, but it was her fault. If only she had been more careful, if only she hadn't gotten so upset…if only she were stronger. There has to be something I can do.

Jaida began to raise her arms cautiously, keeping her eyes on Arius. She wanted to embrace him, to try and comfort him.
