Selena’s POV

The first morning of the training came earlier than I thought it was going to. The air was so cold. And my heart was beating so loud that I could almost hear it inside my ears.

When I reached the training ground. The place was already full. Wolves were literally everywhere. They were all trying to warm up. Stretching. Jogging. Talking.

The whole place was just smelling like sweat. Pride. And dominance.

I held my jacket tighter around my body as I looked around the space.

I was looking for Nia.

She didn’t sleep in the dorm yesterday. She said she was going to be with her parents.

But it seemed like she was not here yet.

“Why is she here?” Someone whispered. But it was loud enough for me to hear it.

“She is the one to represent the fallen wolf right?” Another one said. Not even trying to keep their voice low like the other one.

“An omega trying to train with us? That’s funny. I would have backed out if I was the one.”

I swallowed very hard and tried to ignore them

  • A Chance With The Hockey Alpha Captain   Chapter 122

Selena’s pov The passage stretched out like forever, massive, endless, and absolutely dramatic. The power that was pulsing earlier finally settled. Every step I took made my boots boom against the stone like a drumroll announcing: something is about to happen. Probably now. Definitely now.The walls were carved with symbols glowing faint gold, giving off that “ancient power, don’t touch” vibe. The air smelled like cold stone and, honestly… something older. Way older than anyone alive.“Stay close,” Rowan whispered, blades out, all calm-on-the-surface, but the way his shoulders tensed screamed “brace yourselves, idiots.”Ava tightened her grip on her daggers, eyes darting like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. “I don’t like this,” she muttered. “It’s too quiet… too perfect.”“Too old,” Cullen added, voice low and shaky. “This place… it feels alive.”I glanced down at my mark, glowing brighter than ever. It pulsed like it had its own heartbeat, almost syncing with the weird rhyt

  • A Chance With The Hockey Alpha Captain   Chapter 121

Selena’s pov The air around us got heavier. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just… thick. Thick like the whole world pressed pause and went, “Okay, let’s see what these idiots do next.”My knees still screamed from the fall. My hands shook as I pushed myself up. But my mark? Oh, that thing was having a full glow-party. It burned like I had a tiny sun trying to break out of my arm. Golden light danced across my skin like it paid rent there.Behind me, Cullen groaned like an old door. “I think I lost one of my ribs.”“You didn’t lose anything,” Rowan said, yanking him up like a stray cat. “You’re fine.”Cullen clutched his side dramatically. “You didn’t even check!”“I don’t need to check. You complain too much to be dying.”Ava stood and smacked dust off her body. “Can everyone stop being dramatic? We survived. Again.”She tried to sound tough, but her hands were lowkey shaking. Honestly? Same, girl. Same.I finally turned around. The sealed place… yeah, it wasn’t sealed anymore. The ground ha

  • A Chance With The Hockey Alpha Captain   Chapter 120

Selena’s pov The light around us didn’t feel normal at all.It wasn’t soft.It wasn’t calm.It felt alive.Like it was breathing with me.Like it was watching me.Like it was ready to jump if I said “go.”My heartbeat thumped in my ears—loud, strong, and also very, very scared. I could hear the others breathing behind me too, shaky and unsure. And right in front of us, the Shadow Heir just stood there.Calm.Still.Smiling that tiny, evil, soft smile.Like he already knew how our story would end.Yeah, well, something inside me said: NOPE. Try again.Something deep, fiery, stubborn inside me refused to let him write my ending. My mark burned again—harder now. Not a baby burn. Not a cute “oh look, magic.”No.This was a full-on volcano under my skin type of burn.It crawled up my arm, into my chest, up my neck. It was so hot I gasped. My fingers shook—not from fear this time—but from something waking up.Something big.Something loud.Something MINE.The world around us trembled.Cull

  • A Chance With The Hockey Alpha Captain   Chapter 119

Selena’s POVThe white world didn’t stay white for even two seconds.Nope.It shook, twisted, then cracked open like someone smashed a giant egg with a hammer.A loud snap! echoed everywhere and BOOM—everything broke apart again. But this time it wasn’t little pieces. No no no.These were massive memory chunks flying around like floating islands on crack. All around me— Cullen’s battlefield.Rowan’s dark room.Ava’s field of flowers. My old forest.A lake.A tower.A full hall of wolves. It was like someone hit “shuffle” on our lives and threw the pieces into a storm.I didn’t even get time to scream. The floor?Gone.I started sliding down a slope made of broken sky, wind slapping my face like it had beef with me.My heart was beating so fast I swear it was trying to run faster than me.I tried to steady myself but—ha!—I stumbled immediately.“Cullen!” I yelled. “Rowan! Ava!”Nothing answered.Just the crack-crack-CRASH of memories slamming into each other while the Shadow Heir trea

  • A Chance With The Hockey Alpha Captain   Chapter 118

Selena’s POVThe Shadow Heir’s voice shook the white space. Not dramatic. Not loud.Just sharp enough to slice the silence like a blade.“You,” he said again. And that’s when I realized—Oh.He wasn’t talking to the glowing man behind him.Nope.He was calling his wolf. His shadow wolf.Because WHY NOT, right? Why stop at being creepy when you can summon a nightmare dog too?The wolf peeled out of his back like darkness untangling itself. One step.Another step. And BAM—full nightmare mode. Its body was smoke. Its teeth were carved from darkness. Its eyes glowed like cold fire. Also, it was huge.Like “Selena-sized snack” huge.My breath got stuck. My mark throbbed. My chest tightened like it wanted to resign from its job.The glowing man didn’t move. At all.Just vibes.Just fire.No help. Thanks, sir!The Shadow Heir looked at me like it already ordered my coffin.“This is where the Caller dies.”Oh, that made something snap in me.A spark.A flame.A “I am done with this nonsense”

  • A Chance With The Hockey Alpha Captain   Chapter 117

Selena’s POVThe cracks swallowed everything. Not politely. Not gently. Not with a soft “oops, here we go.”No.The whole world basically snapped like someone got irritated and pressed DELETE on reality. The ground tore open like ripped homework. The sky shattered like someone threw a stone at a giant glass bowl. The air twisted like it was being squeezed by a giant angry fist. And me?I dropped.Fast.Like gravity just woke up and chose violence. My hands shot out in pure panic, grabbing for literally ANYBODY—Rowan.Cullen.Ava.The guide kid.Even the creepy Shadow Heir, if it came to that. But I caught nothing.Just sad, empty air.My stomach fell to my toes.My heart climbed to my throat. And the mark on my wrist burned like it wanted to file a complaint.Then—Black.Silence.One long heartbeat.And—POOF.I landed on something soft.Very soft.Like a bed made of clouds, leaves, and maybe regret.I sat up fast, clutching my chest. The place around me looked wrong. Not scary wron
