Blair's POV
“Blair, are you okay?” Clover hurriedly hugged me and I shook my head at her, “What happened?” she looked at me then looked at the door, “Where is Zade?” “Clover, I'm not okay Za…De.. ended every…thing…he…. didn't…give ... .me…any…ring…he.. broke…up…with…me,” I cried in Clover’s arms. Clover rubbed my hair gently and whispered comforting words into my ears, I couldn't understand where I had gone wrong, I had done everything right since I became an adult, so why did he end it? “I ..didn't …. do …anything …wrong, I…don't ....know ...why….he…ended…it..,” I sobbed louder as my heart began to feel numb. Clover excused herself from the living room and came back with a glass of water. I drank it and soon began to feel dizzy. Before I could ask about what was in the water, my eyelids began to feel heavy and I found myself falling into sleep mode. I opened my eyes to a pounding headache, when I remembered what happened yesterday, I jumped down from my bed and bolted to Clover's room, “Clover!!” I pushed her door open without knocking, “What did you give me yesterday!!” A sleepy Clover looked at me before saying, “It was sleeping pills and nothing big.” She gave me sleeping pills, why? “I needed you to rest so you would have enough strength to arrange your things for the holiday,” Clover said before I could ask. I looked at her with horror as tears began flooding my eyes, “This is the first holiday without Zade,” my lips began to quiver, “What do I do?” “Arrange your things, we are leaving tomorrow,” Clover stated the obvious but she didn't understand. I sat on her bed and wiped my eyes, “Clove, I know I and Zade are over but what I'm going to tell my parents, they loved him too,” I was trying my best not to cry. “You will tell them you two ended,” I nodded my head listening to her, “I think he cheated though and he will bring her home this holiday.” I shook my head in disagreement, “He would never do that,” I defended Zade, I know no matter what, Zade would never cheat, and maybe Clover saw him getting a necklace or watch and mistook it for a ring. Clover placed both her hands on my shoulder, “A man doesn't just end a fifteen-year relationship unless there is someone, everyone is going to be around this Christmas, all family and friends and I honestly think he is going to introduce her to everyone.” If Clover was right then that would be embarrassing, “What do I do now?” “You get yourself another boyfriend within these two days and would be willing to follow you home,” Clover suggested and I shook my head. I haven't had time to mourn my past relationship and who knows, he might just come back but she was suggesting I get into another one. “We would just look for someone to act make believe boyfriend, we are all going to be in the same town for the holiday and you should act like the break-up didn't hurt you, and trust me that's the only way to make him feel bad,” Clover said and I shook my head. “No thank you,” I shook my head and went to the kitchen. I couldn't do that, I will talk to Zade later, maybe he was going through something and needed space. I brought out a bottle of alcohol to clear my head when a notification popped up on my phone. I opened it to see Alec, Zade's best friend, posted on social media. I wanted to ignore the post but I decided to check it out and it looked like a video from yesterday because of the shirt Zade was wearing, “I'm finally done with that bitch!! Now I can peacefully go home to my baby,” Zade yelled and his friends cheered him up. So he really did cheat, how long was he with the other woman? There was no way I was the other woman. Why did he do it? I didn't even realize when the bottle and my phone dropped from my hand, I bent down to pick it up so Clover wouldn't step on it. “Blair, are you okay?” Clover ran to the kitchen, I guess she heard the bottle break, “Stay away, I will clean it.” I looked at her for a second, I picked up my phone to show her the video but Alec had already deleted it so I explained everything to her. I'm sure Alec had posted that on purpose because he was Clover's boyfriend and he didn't want to show it to me directly. I was tired, so I relaxed my body on the kitchen island while Clover helped me clean up the bottle. My head was trying to figure out what went wrong. “I will kill Alec, so he knew about it?” Clover fumed. “Clover,” She dropped the rag and came to me, “How do I hire a boyfriend for Christmas?” I didn't know when those words left my mouth. “You want to hire a boyfriend for Christmas?” Clover asked and I nodded my head. Amusement flooded her face, she nodded her head and left the living room. I just sat there in confusion, after a moment I went to her room when I saw she wasn't coming out anytime soon. Clover was sitting on the bed with her laptop in her hands, I wondered what she was doing, I sat by her side and saw she was setting up a profile for me. “What are you doing?” I asked with my eyebrows furrowed. “How much do you intend to pay the person and how long do you plan on making the person work?” My mouth parted slightly when I realized what she was doing. “Clover,” I wanted to tell her, I was joking and it was my emotions speaking earlier. “I'm waiting,” Clover raised her eyebrows, “Do it for the plot and get back at Zade,” she winked. I smiled with uncertainty and nodded my head, “The person works from the 20th of this month till the 15th of January and makes 100$ every day.” “That's 2600$ at the end of the job, I wish I was a guy,” Clover said and we both laughed, “Any specific thing you want in him? Like height, profession, and other stuff.” “He should be perfect and better than Zade,” I forced a smile on my face. I didn't want him to be better than Zade, I just wanted Zade. I didn't know if I was doing the right thing, it wasn't about Zade, it was about my family, I didn't want them to feel sorry for me, I just wanted to have a normal Christmas and pretend to be happy at least. Clover clicked away on her laptop, “Done, we should be getting notifications any moment from now.”Blair's POV “You don't have to go to the farm today; I already paid some laborers to do the work,” Aunty Barbara placed a bowl of the newly fresh fruits we had plucked yesterday on the table. Aunty Barbara was related to Clover, that's why she gave us shelter in this small village. It was a very peaceful place where elderly people and a few young people stayed; it was very far from the town, and they rarely had an internet connection there. All they did all day was farming and loading a truck that would take those things to the city to supply. They would give the truck driver a list, and the truck driver would return with their supplies. I didn't know such a place existed, now I know and it's been the most peaceful and beautiful place ever. “There is no need for that; I will finish the work; Blair can rest today,” Clover took from the fruit and threw it in her mouth. I will always be grateful to Clover for being more than a friend; she left everything she had and brought me he
Ace's POV “What will you do now? Will you go through a custody battle with her?” Landon asked when we entered the house. “A custody battle with who?” Rosè asked when we entered the house, “Hi Landon.” “Hi, his girlfriend doesn't want anything to do with him, so she said her lawyer will contact him once the child is born,” Landon explained without my permission. Rosè stood up from the couch and threw a bottle of water at me. I caught it and drank it, “Is that why you two didn't come back home last night? And Ace you reek of alcohol,” Rosè pretended to gag. “I just had a lot on my mind and I was trying to figure out a way to get Blair out of that…” I paused when I saw Ziora coming out from the gym room in her yoga wear. “You don't need to look for a place for her; she isn't there; she is already gone,” Confusion set on my face. What was this mad woman saying? I ignored the nonsense that came out of her mouth, “What are you doing here? Why the fuck are you still in my house? Have
Blair's POVI sat in the car and waited for Clover. She had gone inside the supermarket because she felt it would be safer to go alone.I checked my phone and I began to feel anxious as she had been gone for a long time. I couldn't help but feel scared, maybe something happened to her.I was about to come down from the car to look for her but stopped when she opened the trunk and kept things she bought in there.“I was really scared, what took you so long?” I inquired when she got into the driver's seat.“I was just taking care of some stuff,” Clover answered and I immediately understood she was defending me inside the supermarket.“Did you take care of it well?” I didn't want to ask many questions. Clover nodded her head with a smile on her face as she started the car, “Thank you,” I mumbled under my breath so she wouldn't hear.“What madness is this?” I heard Clover's voice when I got upstairs. She had left the car before me.I paused when I saw the scene before me; our windows wer
Blair's POV“I will make sure to kill that bitch when I see her,” Clover fumed. I was rushed to the hospital and Clover was called because she was on my emergency contact.I felt bad that she was called here; she was on a date with her boyfriend, and I ruined it again for her.“It doesn't matter, I can understand her,” I forced a smile on my faceMy colleagues immediately called the ambulance when they saw the blood and Ziora angrily left.“You don't have to defend that bitch; anything could have happened to you or your baby,” Clover paused when she heard her phone ring; she stood up and answered the call.I got to the hospital in time before anything could happen to me, I was just given a bed to rest while I waited for my check up result.“I understand, he is already here,” She said and the next thing I heard was Ace's voice. My face lit up; Ace was here; why was he here? Does he know about my pregnancy? My face fell at the thought of it. He must have found out, Ziora must have defin
Ace's POVThese past few weeks have been nothing but pure torture: my family is constantly talking about my wedding, Ziora keeps sending invites, but nothing from Blair; I haven't even heard one word from her or seen any post from her.“What was it you said you wanted,” Mother finally paid attention to me.“I can't spend the rest of my life with Ziora,” I said for the hundredth time today.“Ziora would make a perfect queen,” Mother said with a smile on her face.“Yes, Ziora would make a perfect queen, but she will ruin my life; she isn't who she appears to be; she is worse than the devil,” I tried to explain.“What do you mean?” Mother's eyebrows furrowed, “I have known Ziora for a very long time but let's hear your side of the story.”“She is a walking maniac; she is the devil; that girl once burnt my car; the worst was when she set the villa on fire, knowing fully well I was inside,” I explained, hoping she would understand.“You said the gas exploded, did you lie?” Mother asked an
Blair's POVAfter seeing Ace that day, I returned to the hospital and discovered that Kayla had given birth through CS. She woke up, she asked about Zade, when they told her about him, she immediately went into labor.I felt bad for her, but she was recovering with the help of our family, and Zade was facing trial. Stephen and Dylan were making sure the trial went well. Everyone except Dylan called to check up on me.It's been torture watching the news these days. It was always about Ace and Ziora, and it was on every Chanel. He said he would fix it, I knew I left but a part wanted him to fix it.“You forgot to take your drugs,” Clover turned off the TV and kept the remote far from me, “Why do you keep watching the news? You know it's bad for you and the baby so please stop.”I smiled, took the drugs from her hand, and drank from it, “I was just bored.” Ever since Clover found out about my pregnancy, she has been nothing but a sweetheart.Clover sat near me, “Do you still want him?”
