Blair's POV
I lazily opened the door and Clover jumped off the couch, “You weren't answering your phone, where were you?” Clover showed me her phone and I saw hundreds of missed calls. “I accidentally dropped my phone,” I closed the door behind me and entered the house. “Thank goodness, I thought you had done the unthinkable,” Clover placed her hand on her chest and let out a deep breath, “What are all these?” She took the bag from my hand to check the content, “You didn't take your card.” “Someone got it for me,” I sat on the couch, brought out alcohol from the bag, and drank it, “That was refreshing.” “Who?” A curious Clover sat next to me. “Some strange man, the man was fine and tall as fuck,” I explained everything to her. “So we will have to wait for an answer,” Clover said and I nodded my head, “Do you believe in fate?” What kind of question was Clover asking? “No, I don't believe in such things.” “The man we were supposed to meet for you couldn't come because his cat got into an accident, so tomorrow we will know if you meeting Mr stranger was fate or,” Clover took one bottle of alcohol from the bag, “Thanks, Goodnight,” she said and walked away to her room. I didn't know what tomorrow held, Zade and everyone we grew up with were going to be around for Christmas. How do I face the fact that Zade and I broke up? Will Christmas still be the same with everyone? I finished my alcohol and went to bed. I woke up to the sound of Clover blasting Christmas music in the house, I walked to her with my eyes half opened, “Can't we have peace? I'm trying to sleep.” “Shouldn't you be ready?” Clover raised her eyebrows. I opened my eyes fully to see she was already dressed, I looked around and saw her luggage was already in the living room. “Isn't it too early?” I looked at the clock and saw we were in fact late. I hurriedly ran to the bathroom before Clover could say anything. In less than ten minutes, I had my bath and dragged my things outside the house. The driver had already arrived, and he helped us put the bag in the van. Anytime we were running home, Clover and I always hired a van because we didn't want to drive and we didn't want to use flight. We wanted to have fun during the drive. “Let's go,” Clover said the moment the man shut the van and I didn't move, “What's wrong?” “That stranger of yesterday, I want to wait a bit for him,” I said sheepishly. “You think he will come?” Clover gave me a full blank stare and I lowered my gaze, “Driver please give us thirty minutes!!” Clover shouted, then turned to me, “Thirty minutes and that's it.” Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into an hour, I had bit my finger counting numbers, I lost track and started again. I hope he will show up. “Blair!!” Clover yelled my name from the van and I turned to look at her, “We have to leave!! I don't think Mr stranger is coming.” I nodded my head feeling disheartened, I looked back one more time just in case, when I didn't see any site of that familiar stranger, I walked from the back of the car to enter the car. I was about to lock the door, “Miss!” I paused when I heard someone yelling from afar. I rushed out of the car to see a tall man wearing royal blue pants, a black coat, and a scarf wrapped around his neck, and dragging luggage, “Who is that fine man?” Clover asked from my side. I squinted my eyes to see who was, a smile embraced my face as I said, “He is the stranger.” “Good morning,” the stranger greeted both me and Clover with a smile on his face. Clover smiled at him and asked the driver to put his bags in the car. “Thank goodness you came, I thought you wouldn't come,” I smiled, I had never been this happy to see a stranger before. “I'm sorry I came late, I stopped by a gadget store,” he opened his bag and brought out a brand new phone, “I felt it was my fault so I had to get you a new one.” I was speechless, didn't he need the money? Then why was he spending money on things that didn't concern him, “I'm sorry I can't accept this,” I declined politely. “No, there is really no problem,” he insisted and I refused to take it. “Thank you,” Clover took the phone from his hand and gave it to me, “Now let's get going.” I and Clover entered the last seat while he entered the seat directly at our front. We had a few hours so I needed to finalize the contract before we arrived. “So, since we are going to be staying together, how about we make some rules and finalize the contract?” He nodded his head, “I will be paying 100$ every day for this.” “You don't need to pay me,” he said and I looked at him with confusion. What was this? Was he trying to be manly with me? “Didn't you take this job because you needed money?” I raised my eyebrow. He stared at me for a few seconds before saying, “Yes, I took the job because I needed the money by february.” “Okay,” I nodded my head, “Tell me about yourself, you don't need to tell me a lot of personal things because we will be parting ways on the sixteenth of January.” “My name is Ace, I'm a student, and I'm on my third degree right now, if there is any specific thing you want to know?” A student!!! Does he have that much money for a third degree? It must be student loan, poor thing. “How old are you?” I just asked, in case anyone at home asked so I would be able to answer them. “I'm twenty-four,” My head did a full spin and my face gave a full blank stare. “Twenty-four!!!” Clover shouted and he nodded her head, “Yahh,” Clover touched me and I turned to look at her, “A guy younger than you?” “Is there a problem?” Ace asked innocently. This is where I introduce myself, I hope he won't run away, “My name is Blair, I'm a journalist, and I'm thirty-one years old.” “Thirty-one?” Ace's reaction was too calm for me, “That makes it seven years.” Did he just calculate the age difference in his head, “I will send my account number and any other thing you need to know about me.” I nodded my head though he didn't see me, he brought out his phone and began doing his own stuff. “He is twenty-four,” Clover whispered and I nodded my head, “What are you going to do about the age difference?” “It doesn't matter, it's just work between us,” I lazily said. I brought out my eye mask and placed it on my eyes. “What if it turns into something more? A handsome man and a woman in the same, don't you think something would happen?” Clover whispered and I removed the mask from my eyes. “Stop thinking too much, nothing will happen,” I rolled my eyes at her. “I think something will happen, let's set a bet?” Clover said with so much excitement. I just can't with his girl. “50k$” Clover said and I smirked. “Let's double it,” I said with Amusement on my face. At least, I know by the end of the holiday, I will be a 100k$ richer that I didn't work for. “Deal, this is going to be so much fun,” Clover squeaked.Blair's POV “You don't have to go to the farm today; I already paid some laborers to do the work,” Aunty Barbara placed a bowl of the newly fresh fruits we had plucked yesterday on the table. Aunty Barbara was related to Clover, that's why she gave us shelter in this small village. It was a very peaceful place where elderly people and a few young people stayed; it was very far from the town, and they rarely had an internet connection there. All they did all day was farming and loading a truck that would take those things to the city to supply. They would give the truck driver a list, and the truck driver would return with their supplies. I didn't know such a place existed, now I know and it's been the most peaceful and beautiful place ever. “There is no need for that; I will finish the work; Blair can rest today,” Clover took from the fruit and threw it in her mouth. I will always be grateful to Clover for being more than a friend; she left everything she had and brought me he
Ace's POV “What will you do now? Will you go through a custody battle with her?” Landon asked when we entered the house. “A custody battle with who?” Rosè asked when we entered the house, “Hi Landon.” “Hi, his girlfriend doesn't want anything to do with him, so she said her lawyer will contact him once the child is born,” Landon explained without my permission. Rosè stood up from the couch and threw a bottle of water at me. I caught it and drank it, “Is that why you two didn't come back home last night? And Ace you reek of alcohol,” Rosè pretended to gag. “I just had a lot on my mind and I was trying to figure out a way to get Blair out of that…” I paused when I saw Ziora coming out from the gym room in her yoga wear. “You don't need to look for a place for her; she isn't there; she is already gone,” Confusion set on my face. What was this mad woman saying? I ignored the nonsense that came out of her mouth, “What are you doing here? Why the fuck are you still in my house? Have
Blair's POVI sat in the car and waited for Clover. She had gone inside the supermarket because she felt it would be safer to go alone.I checked my phone and I began to feel anxious as she had been gone for a long time. I couldn't help but feel scared, maybe something happened to her.I was about to come down from the car to look for her but stopped when she opened the trunk and kept things she bought in there.“I was really scared, what took you so long?” I inquired when she got into the driver's seat.“I was just taking care of some stuff,” Clover answered and I immediately understood she was defending me inside the supermarket.“Did you take care of it well?” I didn't want to ask many questions. Clover nodded her head with a smile on her face as she started the car, “Thank you,” I mumbled under my breath so she wouldn't hear.“What madness is this?” I heard Clover's voice when I got upstairs. She had left the car before me.I paused when I saw the scene before me; our windows wer
Blair's POV“I will make sure to kill that bitch when I see her,” Clover fumed. I was rushed to the hospital and Clover was called because she was on my emergency contact.I felt bad that she was called here; she was on a date with her boyfriend, and I ruined it again for her.“It doesn't matter, I can understand her,” I forced a smile on my faceMy colleagues immediately called the ambulance when they saw the blood and Ziora angrily left.“You don't have to defend that bitch; anything could have happened to you or your baby,” Clover paused when she heard her phone ring; she stood up and answered the call.I got to the hospital in time before anything could happen to me, I was just given a bed to rest while I waited for my check up result.“I understand, he is already here,” She said and the next thing I heard was Ace's voice. My face lit up; Ace was here; why was he here? Does he know about my pregnancy? My face fell at the thought of it. He must have found out, Ziora must have defin
Ace's POVThese past few weeks have been nothing but pure torture: my family is constantly talking about my wedding, Ziora keeps sending invites, but nothing from Blair; I haven't even heard one word from her or seen any post from her.“What was it you said you wanted,” Mother finally paid attention to me.“I can't spend the rest of my life with Ziora,” I said for the hundredth time today.“Ziora would make a perfect queen,” Mother said with a smile on her face.“Yes, Ziora would make a perfect queen, but she will ruin my life; she isn't who she appears to be; she is worse than the devil,” I tried to explain.“What do you mean?” Mother's eyebrows furrowed, “I have known Ziora for a very long time but let's hear your side of the story.”“She is a walking maniac; she is the devil; that girl once burnt my car; the worst was when she set the villa on fire, knowing fully well I was inside,” I explained, hoping she would understand.“You said the gas exploded, did you lie?” Mother asked an
Blair's POVAfter seeing Ace that day, I returned to the hospital and discovered that Kayla had given birth through CS. She woke up, she asked about Zade, when they told her about him, she immediately went into labor.I felt bad for her, but she was recovering with the help of our family, and Zade was facing trial. Stephen and Dylan were making sure the trial went well. Everyone except Dylan called to check up on me.It's been torture watching the news these days. It was always about Ace and Ziora, and it was on every Chanel. He said he would fix it, I knew I left but a part wanted him to fix it.“You forgot to take your drugs,” Clover turned off the TV and kept the remote far from me, “Why do you keep watching the news? You know it's bad for you and the baby so please stop.”I smiled, took the drugs from her hand, and drank from it, “I was just bored.” Ever since Clover found out about my pregnancy, she has been nothing but a sweetheart.Clover sat near me, “Do you still want him?”
