David’s POV

The evening of David’s Birthday

“Why would my parents do such a thing?” I think to myself on the ride home. “They know I have no interest in marriage or love. I just want to get to the top of my career and get to my rightful position, the position I was trained for. But now they tell me that I need to be married and have a child before I can be considered for that position”

A part of me feels angry and the other part feels understanding; I can’t help but be rational after all I was trained to be rational. A business man is always rational.

I know the real reason why my parents took this route, and it was definitely not because of pressure from shareholders. They had pressured me to try dating some time back, they continuously compared me to my brother who’s married with two kids; two kids that I love so much, but I’ve never thought much of having a family of my own.
